《Vamped up》Chapter 7 - Chomp

The school was nearing closing hours and students have started to go home from their clubs.
[Senpai]
"Hey, can you take these documents to the storage room?"
[Kurake]
"Okay."
[Senpai]
"Thanks a bunch!"
Tch, how selfish but it was nothing someone like me couldn't take on. I was trying to distract myself from the fact that my senpai just dumped all of her work on me and just ran off to hang out with her boyfriend. Go to hell normies!
Though not that I could have a relationship with anyone. I sigh and trudge down the stairs...
Storage room... Storage room... Stora- Ah, There it is! I slide open the door.
[Kurake]
"Yo! Ishi,"
[Ishikawa]
"Wah! Good lord, you scared the bejesus out of me!"
[Kurake]
"Ahahaha! Sorry, sorry, so what are you doing here?"
[Ishikawa]
"Storing documents and papers that my selfish senpai dumped on me. You?"
[Kurake]
"Ditto."
[Ishikawa]
"That's rough man." She gets closer and pats me on the back.
For reasons that I do not know she is dressed up as a male student here. I honestly don't have the faintest clue on why she decided to do so. I May as well poke fun at her while I'm at it.
[Kurake]
"You know you'd probably look good in a dress you know?" I grin.
[Ishikawa]
"Awawawawa!" She sputters.
"Where in the hell did that come from?!"
[Kurake]
"Well, you look awfully like a girl you know."
[Ishikawa]
"Well, i-i'm a guy!"
[Kurake]
"Eeehhh?~ could've fooled me hahaha!" I chuckled to myself.
Ishikawa however didn't find it as amusing and tried to swing at me, and in a fantastical display, she trips on thin air and falls, taking me with her.

[Kurake & Ishikawa]
"Ack!"
Owww... That hurt like a hell,
[Kurake]
"You good Ishi?" I open my eyes and I see her on top of me.
[Ishikawa]
"Y-yeah im fine..."
[Kurake]
"I-I see that's good then..." I was memorized by her neck it was practically calling me to take a sip.
I could feel my fangs starting to grow. Signaling it was feeding time.
[Ishikawa]
"Um? Kura?"
[Kurake]
"Ah." Hearing her call me snapped me out of it.
"S-sorry!"
[Ishikawa]
"Huh?!"
I suddenly push her away and sprint out of the storage room. Not even giving Ishi time to speak.
Without realizing it I had sprinted all the way home and started guzzling down a blood pack without realizing it...
[Kurake]
"Systle!"
[Systle]
"Yes, master?"
[Kurake]
"Stats."
Stats:
Strength - 234
Agility - 100
Intelligence - 29
Vampiracy - 1
Speech - -11
Sensory - 4
Dexterity - 2
Skills:
[Transformation: LVL - 1]
[Blood eye: LVL - 1]
[Vampire lord: LVL - 1]
[Martial artist: LVL - 18]
[Swords master: LVL - 26]
[Elemental bending: LVL - 1]
[Material Bender: LVL - 1]
[Holder: LVL - 1]
[Magical Engineer: LVL - 34]
...
[Kurake]
"What the hell?!" Some of my stats were going down, and some have dropped by an extreme amount." Dexterity 2? no wonder I've been feeling off.
[Systle]
"Master this is the result of your vampiracy LVL going down. You need to drink fresh human blood soon otherwise..."
[Kurake]
"I know, I know..." I guzzle down 2 more blood bags, yet my thirst isn't being quenched.
[Kurake]
"Damn it all!" I slam the now empty blood packs onto the ground.
[Systle]
"Like I said blood packs won't cut it any longer."

[Kurake]
"Why now? Why now does it decide to stop working?"
[Systle]
"Because you are now maturing as an adult vampire and a progenitor. You need to drink blood because we can't make enough mana to keep ourselves alive. We use up more mana than we can make just by existing. So we need to take mana from other sources."
[Kurake]
"That still doesn't tell me why I can't use blood bags anymore!"
[Systle]
"Because the blood in there has been there for a long while now. Most of the mana had already dispersed back into the environment."
[Kurake]
"Why do I have to drink human blood? Why not just any animal's blood?!"
[Systle]
"Because other animals don't have any or much mana inside them at all. Unless you can find yourself a beastman you'll have to settle for human blood."
[Kurake]
"Ugh damn it!" I plop down on my bed.
Ugh, I feel like shit... My entire body felt off and sluggish.
I begrudgingly drag myself out of bed and go to school. To say I wasn't performing as well was an understatement. I was running at 2%.
Even worse, we had PE I wasn't feeling up to the task and the sun was killing me. I suppose my resistance to heatstroke has dropped considerably...
[Ishikawa]
"You okay?"
[Kurake]
"Y-yeah Im good..."
[Ishikawa]
"You sure? You're kinda trailing off there. Wanna go to the nurse's office with me"
The word "with me" Caused a cascading effect within my brain and I remembered yesterday's incident. Her neck was so small and delicate that it could be crushed with the slightest touch.
[Kurake]
"Yeah! I'm fine now leave me alone!" I yell at her and storm off like some bratty kid.
[Ishikawa]
"Watanabe-san, wait!"
Watanabe-san? Not Kura... Guessed I screwed the pooch on our friendship, I feel kinda weak-
An unfamiliar ceiling...
Where was I? I felt even worse like my body was on fire, just breathing was taking energy...
My fangs were throbbing in my mouth
[Ishikawa]
"Ah- you're awake Watanabe-san"
Still Watanabe-san...
she tilted her head to the side exposing her neck a little bit. I couldn't hold back anymore, I leaped out of my bed and landed on top of her, and straddled her belly. Since we were roughly the same size as sad as it is it made this a whole lot easier.
[Ishikawa]
"Huh?! Kura- Watanabe-san I don't swing that way you know?! So could you PLEASE get off of me?"
unfortunately for her, her pleas fell on deaf ears...

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.

The Legend of the Fake Hero
*I don't own the cover image**This has the Tragedy Tag; please no genre hate. Bad things can happen to good people, just like in real life (not that they will. I almost didn't put the tag there as it doesn't really fit the genre. I like happy endings.).The year is 201X, and the line between reality and the imaginary has become blurred. Approximately nine months ago, the event which became known as "The Convergence" occurred. People on Earth began to obtain powers. Some received them for seemingly no reason while others had obtained them after they had returned from the many different worlds that they had unwillingly been abducted to. These new worlds existed beyond time and space, and many could have different rules different from what we know as standard reality. That is because these many worlds seem to have traits taken from imagination. Things from stories and myths, like magic and plots, existed in these worlds as if they were inspired by them, and that was only a start. On earth, there was a young man. On appearance, he could be considered only slightly better-than-average. The only thing he was known for was his incredible mind that left him feeling bored and out of touch with reality. But soon he would leave this reality altogether. One moment he was lying in his bed. The next, he was face-to-face with a beautiful young lady who he had just woken up upon him falling into her bed. This young man has an incredible fate and will soon visit many worlds, gain many powers, and meet many women who, like the young girl whose bed he had fallen into, will blow him away.Upload Schedule (Updated 3/28/2021)Upload one chapter every-other-weekend PST (with rare exception, typically due to length).Breaking Fate/Origin Arc (Done) Albion Arc: Vol 1 - Origin, Vol 2 - Rise of the Red Dragon (Done) New Earth Arc: Vol 3 - New Earth (Done) Dealing with the Past Arc: Vol 4 - Ghosts of the Past, Vol 5 - The Dracul Descends, Vol 6 - War of FateBound Fate Arc Fake Hero Arc Vol 7 - Martel Side Stories #1 Shield Hero Arc Vol 8 - Second Chance Vol 9 - The Adventure Begins (Current) Vol 10 - First Quest Vol 11 - TBD (Writing [37%]) (Multiple Future Volumes TBD)Currently ONLY posting on Scribble Hub, Royal Road, and Wattpad (Same user name)If you find my work on other sites please let me know!

Reborn Magician Tyrant [Old]
Author's Note #4: This is the old, hastily written version. A great magician from the Human Kingdom travels west to fight the Demon Kingdom. Finally, after eight long years of war, the Human Kingdom emerges triumphant! But, just as the Human Kingdom begins to celebrate the victory, an enemy from a land far to the east attacks! After rushing to help support the Human Kingdom capital against the assault, the magician is met with the sight of his beloved city razed to the ground. The magician fights off whatever invaders he can, using whatever tactics he knows, but he is eventually felled in combat due to the superior abilities of the invaders. However, death is not the end! The magician reincarnates, awakening as a citizen of the empire which conquered his home! Author's Note #3: Okay, that's the end for me. This is too boring for me to continue writing, and I've gotten back to writing Reborn as a Dungeon Core in an Apocalyptic World. At 26,772 words, this has gotten too boring for me to continue. I'm probably going to take this basic story and rewrite it into something way better w/ longer chapters, but at least I had fun for the six days it took to write this much. PS - Love the reviews; they're great. Way to go, dude with 22 thumbs up and 0 thumbs down!
