《My Birthday Wish to be a Dungeon Master was Granted!》Chapter 22: Back to my Dungeon

Another unfamiliar ceiling--- actually not.

I’ve been staring at the ceiling I’ve acquainted for already three times for a few seconds.

“Damn it…”

The feeling of defeat took over my body that was lying down on the bed.

“… Haahh…”

I got up and placed my two feet on the ground while sitting. After for a few moments, I stood up and headed for the door. It’s been three times I’va had this feeling of déjà vu. Any time now, I will be meeting my slime friend Limus.

“Mister Daichi.”

And here comes Limus. This happened for three times in a row now.

“You lost too?”

“Yep, I lost against a dungeon master that had a Goblin Assassin subordinate.”

“…”

Wait… What…?

“A Goblin Assassin?”

“Yep, so did Ignis. I think he mentioned that his Firedrake army was defeated by a Demon Troll army, and also his trump card, a Berserk Giant (B-rank), was destroyed during its raid against the dungeon master controlling the Demon Troll army.”

“…”

“…”

“…”

“Why are you silent?”

C-Crap! But wait, why am I worrying about this? Because this was a competition, so even if they knew that I attacked them, it was all so I could win. Also, even if they knew I was there, there would be no hesitation to attack if there was a chance, right?

“Ohh… I see, you were that dungeon master huh. Good job on beating that musclehead. For once, he applied a tactic of raiding your dungeon while the main force was away, but to think you were able defend against the Berserk Giant using only your defensive monsters and traps, well done!”

Seeing him excited made me want to boast of how I did it, but let’s just save that for next time. I’m still a new dungeon master after all.

“Oh yeah, about that Goblin Assassin…”

“Yes?”

I gulped down my nervousness and opened my mouth.

“T-That was mine also.”

“… Oh! That was you?”

“Y-Yeah…”

“Awesome!!! I can’t believe no dungeon master tried to do that during the game! I mean, if I had thought of it, I would’ve done exactly that, but how did you manage to let them infiltrate the dungeons without being seen?”

“Ah yeah, I had Goblin Ninjas to give me a report about the structure of the dungeon, traps, and monster numbers. Also, they were accompanied by Goblin Assassins so that if there was a chance, the Goblin Assassin would kill the dungeon master or destroy the core. Well, all of the dungeon masters were killed instead of having their core destroyed.”

“Ohh!!! That seriously awesome!! But, what is a Goblin Ninja? That’s the first time I heard of that Goblin sub-species.”

Hmm…?

“You never heard of a Goblin Ninja before?”

“Yes. I know the monster Goblin, but not ninja.”

Wait, Limus doesn’t know what a ninja is? But what if only Limus doesn’t know about ninja?

“Limus, does the word ninja not exist?”

“Why yes, that’s the first time I’ve heard of it through my travels around the world.”

WAIT WHAT!?

Well, I can understand why ninjas don’t exist here, but what I am surprised about is how Limus travels around the world.

“You travel around the world, even with that appearance!?”

“Of course I do. If not, how can I be a dungeon master now?”

What… What does that mean?

“What do you mean by that Limus?”

“Were your memories erased? To become a dungeon master, first you must have a trait among the inhabitants of this world. The trait is to have no place to belong in this world.”

Well, that’s one. I mean, I’m from another world after all.

“The second is to live for about a minimum of 18 years old.”

Again, another one…

“Third, and this is the most important one, is to have a favor of a God.”

Hmm… A favor of a God huh…… WHAT!!!???

Seeing the expression of shock on my face must be surprising for Limus. Well, that’s natural, because of the sudden change in facial expression.

“? Is something wrong?”

“N-No, it’s nothing. Anyway, what will we do now?”

I quickly changed the topic because of the shock. I’ll tackle that later on, for now, I should really ask what to do now that the events are done.

“We’re supposed to head to the hall again for the awarding ceremony. That said, for those who didn’t win, we can just skip that and head to the exit. There, we’ll be greeted by the Dungeon Master God’s clone and be sent back.”

“Okay, well what will you do?”

“I’m heading back. I still need to check up on my dungeon.”

“Is that so? Then see ya.”

“Goodbye, until we meet again mister Daichi!”

We parted ways and I headed towards the hall. One reason is to see the dungeon master who defeated me, and the other is to see what skills they will get.

When I arrived, the awarding ceremony was starting. Since there were too many winners in the Survival and Race, what was being awarded was the Dungeon Battle winner. He was an elf, a handsome guy that could be the leading model back on Earth, and had golden hair that goes down all the way to his waist and jade eyes.

Next, the silver haired youth appeared again, this time, not on screen, but on the stage. He was holding an orb and gave it to the elf instead of a medal or a trophy.

The elf then grabbed the orb and it shone a bright white light, dying the area in its color. After a few seconds, the orb lost its light then broke, then the applause of the silver-haired youth reverbarated through the air. Following that, the present dungeon masters then applaud, and so did I.

“Congratulations on the win, may you forever strive to be the best. Also, with the new ability you got, use it in the most useful way or yourself, and for your dungeon.”

After that, the silver-haired youth faced us, the audience, and spoke up once more.

“With this, I conclude the Annual Dungeon Games!”

After that, the silver-haired youth vanished and all of us were sent to the exit through a transfer magic circle.

Though most of the new dungeon masters were startled, the dungeon masters who have experienced the Dungeon Games before just nonchalantly walked towards the magic circle that would send you back to your dungeon.

Next to the circle, was the same silver-haired youth back on the stage. Actually, he was different. It felt like his body movements were monotonous, and mostly served as a guard for if anything happens.

“So he was the Dungeon Master God.”

While I muttered under my breath, I head towards the magic circle and my body was enveloped in light. The next moment, I found myself in front of the core inside the core room of my dungeon.

“Master!!!”

A girl with cat ears leaped into my chest and hugged me tightly. She rubbed her little head on my chest while making purring sounds, so adorable…

“I’m back, Shironeko.”

“Un!!”

Finally, I’m back, to my dungeon.

“Master!! You’re back!!”

Then my doppelganger hurriedly ran towards me and did a superb dogeza.

“Sorry!! Sorry!! Please forgive me!!!”

Huh…?

“P-Please raise your head! What happened!?”

“Then, please open your dungeon menu and take a look outside of the dungeon.”

Hmm…? Why? Well anyway, not like I have anything to do. I opened the dungeon menu and what appeared on the screen was a shocking scene to me.

“WHAT THE HELL ARE 500 SOLDIERS DOING IN FRONT OF MY DUNGEON!!!??? ALSO, WHY THE HELL DO THEY LOOK LIKE THEY ARE ABOUT TO GO TO WAR!!??”

My shout echoed throughout the room. I glared at my doppelganger and he insisted that it wasn’t his fault. He said that he followed all of the rules I set so there were no deaths inside, but why did tis happen?

“Maybe because of the hero.”

“The one, who kept on challenging my dungeon only to be knocked out by Deus?”

“Yes. Last time he went here, he was shouting because of rage for not being able to defeat Deus, said something about making the town’s soldiers move.”
