《My Birthday Wish to be a Dungeon Master was Granted!》Chapter 8: A Dungeon Challenge!!
A week passed from when I mad an inn. Adventurers, mostly new ones, come by and entered the dungeon. After exploring, they come back to rest at the inn. And while resting inside one of the rooms, My daily DP income rises greatly. I opened the Dungeon Statistics tab and checked the current status of my dungeon.
Dungeon Name: Nameless
Dungeon Master: Yanagi Daichi
Dungeon Level: 27
Dungeon Type: Normal
Dungeon Difficulty: D
Dungeon Age: 0
Floors: 8
Number of Rooms: 29
Intruder Count; Daily: 28
Weekly: 186
Intruders Killed: 13
Monsters Lost: 135
Daily DP Income: 20850
With the inn alone, I can make this kind of profit! Just what more if this becomes a village? Or a town! The dream is expanding!
"Master... is happy."
Shironeko stared at me with a huge smile on her face. Apparently, the good mood I gave off made Shironeko happy. She climbed on my lap for who knows what reason and laid her head on my chest.
"Master... Warm..."
She said one last thing about me before dozing off. I can spoil her to this extent, but if this goes way more, then I'm punishing her. By making her seiza depending on the fault. I checked the screen in front of me and new adventurers came inside my dungeon. Since I'm in a good mood today, let's issue a challenge to the adventurers.
*****
~Random Adventurer POV~
While I and my party were chatting inside the inn, a clamor was heard outside. We went outside to check what it is just to be greeted by a crowd. They were all looking at something. When we looked at the direction they were facing, we saw some floating words.
{Dear Travelers
I am the dungeon master of this dungeon. Since right now I am in a good mood, I'd like to play a game with you all. Don't worry as your lives are not in danger. What I want you all to do is reach the last floor and reach the boss room. The first party or individual to reach the room will be granted a single item of their wish. If you or your party were defeated in my dungeon, you will be thrown out and be unable to enter the dungeon until the game ends or a week elapsed. Well then, happy dungeon diving!}

Once the adventurers around us finished reading the text, they immediately prepared while some headed inside to get a head start. Since this dungeon's credibility was proved by the two Dungeon Sisters, all of us were fired up.
"Oi you guys! We're gonna get that prize! All of you follow me!!!"
" " " " OOOHHH!!!" " " "
*****
~Daichi POV~
After I finished writing those texts, adventurers one after another excitedly prepared and entered my dungeon. Shironeko was still sleeping peacefully in my lap with her head against my chest. Cute, I thought. I made some golems with my [Create Entity] skill that are stronger than the average golem. The golems I made were faster, stronger and smarter than other golems. First, I made a normal-looking golem, but then I thought how about making human-looking golems. I then made some golems that looked like humans. They were all wearing clothes designed for battle and are wielding scary-looking weapons. One was wielding a scythe, the other a morning star. I also made some golems capable of using healing magic to heal the adventurers that fainted. And some golems that are capable of space magic to teleport them out. I then scattered them in my dungeon. The golems I made numbered a hundred.
When I deployed the golems, adventurers here and there were defeated and transferred out of the dungeon. Aren't these golems a little bit too strong? I opened the Dungeon Statistics tab and checked the current status of my dungeon.
Dungeon Name: Nameless
Dungeon Master: Yanagi Daichi
Dungeon Level: 27
Dungeon Type: Normal
Dungeon Difficulty: B
Dungeon Age: 0
Floors: 8
Number of Rooms: 29
Intruder Count; Daily: 28
Weekly: 186
Intruders Killed: 13
Monsters Lost: 135
Daily DP Income: 20850
Oi oi... Did the dungeon difficulty raise by two levels when I added the golems? Just how strong were these golems? I checked the screen again and apparently, 9 out of 10 adventurer parties were defeated and thrown out. They didn't even reach the 2nd floor before getting thrown out. At this rate, they won't be able to clear this game. I better change the rules.

~Random Adventurer POV~
What the hell were those golems? They were too strong for a low level dungeon! And I lost my chance to gain the prize. Just when I was getting ready to head home, new floating words appeared.
{Dear travelers
I apologize for the sudden increase in difficulty so I took of the rule stating you can only try one. So I removed the rule so go ahead and try again. Also, parties concerning on what to do with the prize, don't worry. As the party members that reach the boss room will each get a prize. Happy dungeon diving!!}
Once I finished reading, I quickly went back to the town to recruit party members.
*****
~Daichi POV~
Looks like some adventurers tried to challenge the game again while some went on their way. Maybe to recruit some new adventurers to his party.
"This is fun to watch..."
Shironeko, who was just dozing off right now, woke up and stared at the screen. She then gazed at my direction and smiled. Cute. Just then, a golem that looked like a young girl wearing a maid costume appeared. Shironeko then glanced at her and then looked at me all teary-eyed.
"Master... Replaced me?"
Tears then rolled down her cheek and clung to me.
"Please don't throw me away master!! I will do anything! So please don't throw me away!!"
Shironeko then shouted some words to me to appeal not to throw her away.
"Don't worry Shironeko. That is just a golem. A golem can never replace you."
I hugged Shironeko and wiped her tears away. She then stared up at me with blushing cheeks.
"Uuu... Sniff..."
This girl, just what did she go through? As Shironeko topped crying, she let go of me then went back to dozing off. She really is like a cat. When I looked at the screen, the two adventurer girls from before, along with the golem I gave them were challenging my game to. They were already at the 3rd floor. They made a good balanced party. The golem for the vanguard, the redhead for support and the green-haired girl for rear-guard. I didn't know that the golem I gave them was also strong. [Create Entity] is just too reliable when you are a dungeon master. I made a new golem, probably the stronget one I created. It lookWhen I appraised it.
Species: Automata
Name: Deus Ex Machina
Level: 250
Skills:
[Megaton Punch lv 9] [Agility Up lv 8] [Hard Body lv 9] [Strength Up lv 8] [Magic Resistant Body lv 9] [Nimbleness lv 8] [Dual-Wielding lv 8]
"............."
Didn't I just create a boss class monster that can rival a giant monster. This skill is broken. For now, to avoid creating some suspicions, I'll be limiting this items for my own convenience. But isn't that already too late? You know what? I'll just create golems weaker than this golem to defend my dungeon. And right now, when I just placed the boss golem in the boss room, I checked the current status of my dungeon.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.

A festering world
A story about the apparition of the system on Earth, and the adventures of John on a festering world. Contain a lot of mythological figures like the four horsemen, eldritchs and a shitload of gods. Warning: This is my first story and English is not my native language so the story will probably be bad but I will try to improve. I write this story for fun, there is currently no release schedule.

Stories Of Indlu
“… to grow, for opportunity, for adventure, to be free. Join the colony ship Nao Vittoria. Be the first to live amongst the stars.” It was obvious from the literature that the NextStar corporation wanted the young, the adventurous and the brilliant. So why were the super rich fighting over seats? Why were AI’s trying to stow away? Did this signify a premature end to human/AI civilisation? Why had some questions directed to NextStar been aggressively sidelined? Why did the colonist inflight entertainment trial produce fatalities? In fact, why colonists at all? Those and many other questions, however, boiled down to a single central question. Why was the world’s most advanced AI dumped with a hundred year babysitting job for 50 million people speeding towards an uninhabitable planet? It made such little sense. The only sure way to get answers, catch a ride on the Nao Vittoria and play the inflight entertainment game, Pax Domini. I joined, and this is my story. Well, I feature. OK, I’m more of a spectator. Actually, I’m completely irrelevant I was just there. I’m only the storyteller. But what a story to tell. --------- Hi All, Content will be published weekly usually Saturday and typical posts will be 25oo to 4ooo words per post. Though for some reason the Royal Road word count does not include the content of tables so some posts may not appear to meet this criteria. Currently I have written sufficient unedited content to keep this schedule for the next 12 months (half way through the first story arc). My current productivity would indicate that I can maintain this schedule for well into the second story arch. This also allows for the additional content that will be posed exclusively on Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/StoriesOfIndlu). This additional content follows minor characters, peripheral events, maps and other content that does not take away from the main story. I would love to accelerate the post schedule but to meet this I need the assistance of more beta readers than I currently have. So please let me know if you are interested. - Andy ©2022 Andy Leauter.
