《Void shifter》Chapter 38 Body augmentation

Once reaching the small hut I lock the doors and windows with an adhesive produced from melted bone. I then proceed to take out all of the bought items from today.
Starting with the air gems I begin to eat them, breaking and crushing them with my mouth before letting them dissolve in my stomach acid. Once the air gem has the consistency of sand I begin to move it around my body. First I improve the air pistons in my legs, allowing me to move at a high velocity at a moments notice. I then move on the respiratory system. I give both right and left bronchi (the main passageway into the lungs.) a layer of the air gems along with the capillaries (very thin blood vessels bring nutrients and oxygen to tissues and remove waste products.) inside of my body. This allows for oxygen to be delivered to the parts of my body that need it with ease. This should also allow me to gain oxygen without having to breathe for extended periods of time.
Next, I move on the fire gems. Making them into the same consistency as I did with the air gems I begin to move it around the designated locations throughout my body. Using the metal and bone in my body I make a fire alloy like the one I used to have in my claws. I move the alloy into my hands, elbows, knees and feet, the body parts most likely to be used offensively. In these areas I produce organs and arteries, modified with improved stomach lining, to produce and secrete acid if needed.
Moving on to the electrical gems I make them into the same consistency before getting to work. This time I move the electrical gem dust to the cells and organs that generate electricity. This improves the electrical output produced by the cells and organs. Grabbing the copper I grid it up inside my body and begin to improve the conductivity inside my body allowing for the electrical current to flow more efficiently without transferring the energy into heat (Energy doesn't disappear so the electrical energy lost would have turned into wasted heat energy the internal copper wiring will reduce the energy lost. Also, I know silver in more conductive but it is also more susceptible to corrosion and with gold being a little too expensive copper is the best choice at the moment.)
With my internal wiring done I move on the high-quality steel which I also eat. I use the minerals to strengthen my body and I begin to give some of my cells a flexible steel cell wall with pores allowing it to continue its functions.

With all the purchased items used I take out ‘Mr sparkles’ corpse and absorb it into my body. I then being to change the bone structure of my appendages. Making them more snakelike and flexible without removing any durability or power output. Next, I create microscopic holes over my neck and head which allows sound waves from my echolocation ability to be produced continually. Once this is done I form a layer of scales under my skin along with a lattice of cord-like hair for protection.
With the foundation and infrastructure in place, I get up from my sitting position to look outside but notice that is becoming morning [Shit, robbing stores in broad daylight will attract attention that I could do without. Maybe I should spread the plague again? That way when I attack the slavers the riots and general chaos should stop from any backers intervening. It should take half a day for someone with the ‘zero’ virus to show symptoms and then it will probably be in the lustful state for a day. So If I infect people now it should take about three days for people to start showing the rage symptoms. This is when I will assault the slavers. After that, I can fast-track my way up the adventure ranks to gain more support and knowledge so I can get stronger.]
With this in mind, I use my body mass to mass produce the mosquito-like insects I created on the way into the city. Keeping the creatures in stasis like state inside of my body, I begin to walk around the slums releasing them in ones and twos at random intervals. Finding the occasional water well I would contaminate it with the virus hopefully allowing the virus to spread. If I walk by anyone I would use a tentacle to inject them at high speed. Sadly I could not infect the entire city’s water source as only the slums had water wells while the rest of the city had pumps or water magic.
Once I have walked around a large part of the slums I decided to walk into the rest of the city infecting people and releasing insects as I go. Not looking like what people would associate with Jacob I walked around to various taverns and brothels infecting people and kegs as I go. [Well if you think about it I will probably helping the brothels out with all the lust that will be going on.] I was ‘invited to talk’ by a few of the whores at the brothels but I declined as I distributed the virus. Lucky not being in my regular form I did not tarnish my reputation by going to a brothel after brothel. Not that I care about such things. But it would be difficult to persuade the adventures guild to give me a job to solve a problem with a bunch of horny and angry people if they thought I loved brothels.

I kept walking around the city until it was truly dark where most people were going to sleep. Once I felt that most people were asleep with my empathy I decided to go to the stores I visited the day before. Going to the magical elemental gem store first I noticed that the lock had some magical runes surrounding it and while it could have been a bluff I did not want to chance anything. Because of the possibility of a defense/alarm system I simple grew a thin tentacle through the keyhole. Once part of my body was on the other side it was easy to teleport inside of the store after making the sure the coast was clear.
Now that I am inside I take all the available fire, air, and electrical gems. I also take a cloak that uses dark and light magic to either make the user very bright or to bend into the shadows easier. With nothing else of interest I walk over to the counter with the till on top and a safe underneath it. The till is empty so I assume all the money is in the metal safe not so stealthy hidden behind a false wooden panel. The safe had the same magical lock as the front door. [Why do idiots always put some much protection on the locks, doors, and gates when they leave the side wide open.] Using my hand I secrete acid onto the side of the safe where it melted with relative ease. Counting 41G 32S and 78C I smiled as I left the store. Before I left however I made an identical yet severed head of the shopkeep I meant yesterday and placed it o the counter.
Leaving the store I rob all the stores on the block while leaving severed heads in the location I found the money. Not knowing what everyone looked like I used random faces of people I remember seeing. After robbing the metal orge, the last store on the block, a guard saw me leave the building.
“Stop right there!” Yelling he rushes towards me.
“Alright,” I answer as I stop and wait for him.
“Wait for you actually stopped?” In his surprise, he falters slightly.
“Yup, please be gentle it's my first time unless you count having your ass probed by your adopted dad. Uh, I am asking for a friend?” I say in an innocent voice.
“Wha...”
Before he could finish I decapitate him. Blood sprays like a fountain as the body falls over limp. Smiling I cauterize the wound to stop the blood flow before I start to play with the corpse. Taking over the central nervous system (Spinal cord) I start to reform the now dead man's brain inside his own body. This cause a small bump on his chest due to the storing of the brain matter. Removing the armor the coved the stomach I make a giant mouth with crooked yellow teeth. I also give it the ability of echolocation so it can move freely [Ha, looks like my old nightmares.] Making the new creature unconscious I climb on top of one of the stores to count my gains and to continue my body augmentation.
In total I gained 92G, 67S and 23C giving me a total of 1P(Platinum which is 100G) 10G, 71S, and 55C. [Not bad, not bad at all.] Apart from the cloak that has the effect to slightly bend light I did not find anything worth taking apart from the metal and gems I am going to use for improving my body.
Once I have finished looking at my ill-gotten gains I being to add the metal and gems to my body. With The infrastructure and foundation in place, it did not take me long to finish my body's improvements and I even had some metal and gems left over as my body was full of minerals and did not need improving in those fronts. I managed to improve all me previous modifications and complete giving all my cells a steel cell wall.
With the augmentation done I began to refine the cells in my body and removing all the impurities and waste from them. By the end, my body was practically perfect. [I think I should focus on my power and aura for a bit with my body like this.] (He will continue to condense his body and such but it will be less of a focus from now on.)
Looking up to the sky I see the sun rising and I hear people walking up and moving outside. Sitting up on the rooftop I meditate and enjoy the view before hopping down from the roof as I start to hear screaming. With a smile on my face, I walk back towards the slums as I hear a scream, the sound of flesh tearing and the new creature roaring. [The virus should be taking effect soon. Ha, let the fun begin.]

MeiQ: Lore of the Labyrinth
Omaros City lays near one of several Yggdrasil trees that are scattered around the world. Each tree holds an entire labyrinthine ecosystem within or beneath it, yet the mysteries of their origins and what lays in their depths are only ever unraveled by the most skilled and courageous of explorers. Exploration of Omaros' Yggdrasil labyrinth is still in its fledgling stages, drawing in many with the allure of fame and glory that has yet to be claimed. Enter the harbinger Dubhan—cheerful, determined, and not terribly skilled at thinking ahead—and warlock Allouet— intelligent and resourceful, but desperately in over his head. Together, the two of them have half an idea of what they're doing at best, but that's not going to stop them from aiming for the labyrinth's unknown depths. MeiQ is, at its core, a fanfiction inspired by the Etrian Odyssey franchise, alternatively known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan. Despite that, it is written with the intent to be enjoyable by those unfamiliar with the series as well. The characters and the city of Omaros are original, while the story draws upon lore and recurring concepts from the game series. However, Etrian Odyssey is known for its lore being sparse and open to speculation, so much of the details provided in this story are exactly that—a fan’s speculation and personal expansion of the lore. This story was also inspired by and written as part of HereBeTreasure's Fast Food Frontpage Competition, enjoy some simple dungeon exploration plot and whatever else pops up from this.
8 119The Seeker's Quest
This is my first full creation I hope you enjoy. Shae was raised mostly by her parents, though she spent the summers at her Great grand uncles house since she was 5. He was a bit odd, though attentive, and taught her to have fun with skills long out dated. She solved puzzles, riddles, and learned to track. They enjoyed time in the woods living off the land. His house was beyond fun and games during the summer for a young girl who was taught to love adventures. Now years later she is about to find her own way to adventures she never dreamed of. And maybe, never wanted.

8 159I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
