《Void shifter》Chapter 24 Monster

Now in a dome-like room with slimy green walls and up to my knees in acid, I begin to make my way out of the plant. Thinking acid would not work on the interior of the plant I used my heated claws to dig my way out.
It did not take me long to dig my way out from inside the plant and get back to the surface. Although if I thought about it a plant monster would be a good counter for me in a battle, My poison and venom would not work as it is not compatible with their anatomy and for some reason, I could not control their body’s [Maybe because they have a different cell structure?] The reason was unknown. When I was out of the plant I found and collected its core, had a half an hour rest and then continued my walk deeper into the forest.
As the beasts where strong in the area I just left I decided to only walk for another half a mile before I started to look for a place I could make Into a base [All I have done for the last couple of days is fight, I think I will take a rest to build a base where I can sleep and rest if needed.]. I eventually find a suitable place in a small clearing with a patch of bamboo to the side and a river 20 meters away. I spend the rest of the day and night making a small hut from stick, leaves, mud, and hair. Once the hut was finished I use the heat from my claws to dry the mud and make a door from bamboo tied together with hair.
Once my hut was made I begin to make pitfall, tripwire and net traps around the hut. I also make a perimeter from outward facing wooden spikes, I know they won't stop any beats or monsters but they may slow them down or give me a warning. I then use webbing to cover all the gaps in my defenses while leaving a small pathway for me to come in and out.

Finished with my defenses I go to the river to set some traps for fish and to collect some water. When I am at the river setting up a small fishing net I hear a gentle and soft voice singing what sounds like a lullaby [That is 200%, a trap.]
Despite my suspicions, I cautiously go towards the source of the voice ready to fight at a moments notice. The source of the voice turns out to be a very disturbing looking monster. It had a lower body of a spider, the size of a carriage, with odd-looking tubes of various lengths coming out at random angles. What really caught my attention, however, was its weird tentacle-like mouth that had huge mismatched teeth. Branches come off of the tentacle mouth that ends in unblinking eyes that stare off in all directions. The whole monster as a mismatch of the colors green, orange, and black.
[Well that is one ugly mother fucker.] I was debating whether or not to fight it, after all the previous battles and not knowing if there was anything to gain other than fun, when of its eyes swiveled around and stared right at me [Well that answers that question for me, I just can't catch a break can I?].
The monster stops singing and a black ash looking gas comes out of the lower facing tubes. Green goo comes flying out from the middle facing tubes and orange slime is launched up into the air.
[Well I am no expert on the subject but I properly don't want to breathe in the ash stuff or touch its multicolored goo] Cataloguing the hazards in my head, I hold my breath while using the air gems to oxidize my blood as I dodge the goo and slime that is flying everywhere.
The orange slime seems to be corrosive as it melts the ground and plants it touches while the green goo does not seem to do anything but stay in the shape it lands in. As the creature I have mentally named ‘Tube spider’ is blowing its load, I close the distance between us to attack it, but some of the green slimes touches my foot sticking it to the ground [So the green goo is an adhesive]. My momentum and strength carry me forwarded but the steps are slightly more difficult than before, luckily the good comes off slightly with each step as it sticks to the ground.

In the process of getting to the monster green goo and orange, slime has landed on me causing me pain and discomfort as it melts away my flesh. Once I was close enough the tube spider stopped its chemical attacks and started to use its gait spider legs as spears. A few of the giant spear legs graze me, causing me to bleed. Getting closer I eventually get in its striking distance and begin my assault.
The creature did not take long to die once I was able to attack it but I was still severely injured and covered in slime and goo. My face was half burnt off showing my jaw and skull bones while burnt marks scare the rest of my body haphazardly and the green goo sticking to me at random intervals. so I went to the river to wash it off of my body.
When my body was clean I went back to the tube spiders corpse to absorb it so I can better heal myself. Sadly I could not learn or copy anything from the corpse as it the whole thing was infused with magic so I couldn't even copy a magical glad [Does this mean when I can use magic I still won't be able to copy abilities from monsters? I will have to wait and see guess.] I did find a crystal inside the body which I put inside my space ring.
When I finish absorbing the body I decided to collect the green goo as it may be useful in the future or for my hut construction, so I made a sled from hair, sticks, and leaves to collect and carry it all. As I collect the goo I find a small black and purple bird that is missing a few feathers and one of its wings. [Poor thing it must have gotten hit during the fight, Its so small I see no point it eating it, Maybe I could take it in, heal it and make it my pet? It would be nice to have company, even if it is a bird].
Reaching a decision I take the goo back to the hut and then gently wash the bird in the river to get rid of any leftover slime or goo. Once it is clean I take it back to the hunt and begin to heal it, to do this I use of my own body mass to regrow its feathers and begin to regrow its wing. It is slow going as I haven't fixed a bird before and the little creature has some magic in it which makes the process slower. I sense a small crystal in the bird and come to the conclusion that it is a monster, which will probably make it harder to tame but I was invested now.
At some point It wakes up but I use chemicals such as dopamine in its brain to calm it down and I also reduce the pain, It didn’t get rid of it completely because I wanted it to know it was injured so it wouldn't attack or try to leave [I think I will name you Shade].

Heroes have arrived in Cairn village, one of which is Aiden; a 20-year-old-runaway who's just excited to play a super awesome VRMMORPG and maybe rekindle the eternal war without thinking... I added the tramtising tag since the whole demon lord thing isn't entirely moral and I guess that's what that tag means, better safe than sorry I guess. This is a rewrite and I still do small edits on earlier chapters for grammar and style every now and then so let me know any critiques you have or even if you just think something is stupid. The whole point of writing this is so I can improve while (hopefully) entertaining some people. My update schedule can be erratic but I will finish this eventually. Eventually being in a few years... An Un-Ideal Eternity
An Un-Ideal Eternity is about a man named Desmond, who is killed, revived, and then finds himself immortal in a post-apocalyptic society. Just because it’s a society doesn’t mean that either he or “they” have to be civilized. And just because a gentleman has become immortal does not mean that he has no dangers to be wary of. The good news is that he’s been afforded some very kind and very generous ministrations from his future-self. The bad news is that all those efforts might still not be enough, to allow our hero, to live in as untroubled and as un-tumultuous a manner as he’d prefer.

His duty as a dhampir, his duty was clear, his fate sealed. After a particularly nasty encounter with his Mentor, Heath is on the run. Set on not becoming the new guardian and knowing that decision has now marked him for death. The hunt is on and somewhere behind him is Joshua, the heir of his Master, and the thing that plagues his nightmare, his Mentor Karen.

Cardinal of Sin
They say sin comes at a horrible price. Or...perhaps I'm misremembering the saying. Regardless, I'm usually inclined to agree with the aforementioned statement. When one is held hostage by their own carnal instincts; never being able to fully control their primitive impulses...Well, let's just say, it would destroy a lesser man. That, I know. I died because of my lack of self-control, after all. I must admit, though. I didn't expect to change this belief of mine after meeting my end, but here I am. Breathing. In a world I don't belong; a world of magic. Here I am, whisked into another reality with the power to sin. To conquer.
