Chapter 198 – Meeting a Mute Beggar
After Ramiel left the noble district along with his things, he heard a commotion in one of the alleys. Going to the alley, he spotted a hoodie wearing young man with brown hair being beaten up by two thugs. Seeing this scene, Ramiel hugged the walls and listened in.
“You dumb fucking beggar!”
“Die! You can’t even do such simple thing you dumb mute! All we need you to do was distract that bitch and yet you fucking fail. Die you stupid shit.”
Hearing them, Ramiel felt pity. A dumb mute and a beggar, it sounds so familiar that he couldn’t let it go. So he went to the alley, pointed his carbine at the thugs, warning them to get out before he could pull the trigger on his carbine. The thugs showed fear, at the rather serious tone Ramiel had. Not wanting to die, they escaped, leaving the brown haired young man coughing blood on the street floor. Ramiel approached the young man, speaking.
“Are you okay?”
“...”
The brown haired young man tilted his head. He looked at Ramiel as if he could not talk to him. Ramiel gestured if he was mute but the guy shook his head. He at least could understand his gestures, which made Ramiel suspect something. He spoke his old tongue at the dude. Hearing him, the brown haired man’s eyes lit up.
“You speak English?”
“And let me guess you don’t speak the language of the land?”
“Yes, ha, oh man, does this mean I am not alone in this world?”
“So an otherworlder, where are you from mate?”
“I am from Georgia...The name’s Daniel how about you?”
“The name is Ramiel; I am from Norway...so how did you get into this world?”

Ramiel pulled Daniel using his left arm. Daniel stood up and leaned on the wall, bruised.
“I don’t know...I just fell on a boat and then found myself in this place.”
“So the same as mine eh, I guess this world is where people go when they get thrown into Bermuda triangle or get lost in the sea.”
“Maybe, I just don’t know, I have begged in the streets since autumn...it’s quite hard here...”
“No shit, it is really hard. Also, to think I would meet an otherworlder before I die is quite something I would never expect.”
“Huh?”
Daniel was shocked. As if he found hope yet it was just taken away immediately. His face was grave and pale.
“Well, things happen. But don’t worry; I think I can help you...”
“But...you are...”
“It's fine...I am going to die anyway so how about I recommend you a teacher that can teach you the language of the land. It is helpful if you want to live on this land. And this lady owes me a lot, so it should no problem to coax her into teaching you as long as you aren’t an asshole. ”
“You will really do that?”
“Sure...I mean I already said it, so let’s go while I still can walk. I don’t I have that much time left on me. So let’s hurry and give you safety and relief in this shitty world before I die. That’s the best thing a fellow human from earth can give you.”
Ramiel’s condition wasn’t very good anymore. He was drained of energy that he might as well lie down dead; he was slowly dying, his organs turning in that of wood. But somehow he found himself an otherworlder. Because of that, he was willing to help, not wanting this guy he just met suffer like he did. So even though he already said those to Aubrey, he went back to the house of Argos shamefully and asked Aubrey for a favor.

Ramiel asked Aubrey a favor, which surprised Aubrey. But telling Aubrey that Daniel was an otherworlder, Ramiel guilt tripped her on taking him in. Aubrey agreed, and with that Daniel was hired to become a trainee on the house of Argos, receiving clean clothes and a bit of money. Ramiel was happy for his fellow otherworlder, and when he was about to leave, Ramiel suddenly felt his body heavy, making him kneel on the ground.
Daniel, who found hope through luck, got alarmed. He knew that Ramiel was dying, and seeing him barely standing. Daniel begged the lady of the house of Argos to help him, which Ramiel refused. Instead, Ramiel made Daniel take him to the place where he wanted to go. Daniel agreed.
They walked along the streets and entered a wide garden where a giant tree lies near a river. Seeing this place much beautiful, Ramiel told Daniel to make him lean on a tree. After that, Ramiel removed his Elemental Bracer, his hidden blade and left it with Daniel. Telling him the disadvantages of this world to people like them, Ramiel advice Daniel to take care. After that, Ramiel told Daniel to come back later, since he wanted to be alone for a while.
“Thank you, Ramiel...I thank you for doing this for me...even though we just met.”
“Come on now, it is alright really...besides we got to help each other right? Besides, I live quite long, I am fine...so good luck friend...May your life be better than mine.”
“Ramiel...okay, I will leave you alone...have a good rest friend. I won’t forget the favors you gave me.”
“Good luck friend,”
Saying that Daniel and Ramiel bumped their fist together, Daniel felt the generosity that Ramiel had. He wanted to thank him, and even shed a few tears for him but seeing the brave look on Ramiel’s tired and weary face. Daniel stood up, nodded his head and left the place. He doesn’t want to bother Ramiel, and he knew that staying with him would only go against his wishes of being alone for a while. So he left Ramiel alone, letting him do what he wants, and have his peace. After all, even Daniel knew that Ramiel had it rough.
