Chapter 170 – Journal Entry 20: Redemption's start
If I wasn’t told that Fernery Island was beautiful repeatedly then I would be surprised. But seeing the simple wooden harbor of the island, along with the area where there is a stone monument. The road is mainly composed of marble and even though the harbor is made of logs composed together. It didn’t look like they were about to fall any second.
I took a light step. Following that the people on board of the ship dismounted too. Grom who was always on the fourth level of the ship stepped out. I expected him to be listless but instead. I saw him being basked with light. As if he was being purified, the metal ingrained on his body slowly retreated back inside him. What remained was Grom being fully shed of his metal skin.
Grom has two metal bracers on his arms. His whole arms looked like they were ebony wood. He had silver grayish hair and his red eyes that made him looked mad turned into a vacant gray color. Grom had quite an average face, but with his physique, it was enough to call him above average. His jaw line was fine, his cheeks weren't moon-like, and his long silver hair tied behind his back made Grom looked human.
His pale skin illuminated with the light. He seems to be grasping for air at first, but he turned to clenching his fist, closing it, opening it. I stood listlessly at the sudden change in his appearance. Elena who mounted down said.
“Oh, this usually happens when Grom comes in contact with Mefinami’s light. Though sadly every time he goes out of this island his metal skinned form reverts back to normal, the light suppresses the curse, no, the malediction on him but it could not be removed, so don’t be surprised that this happens.”

“It’s too late for that.”
I could only try to make myself composed at the almost miracle like event. I stared at Grom too much, that he might notice it. He turned towards me, and I could see his fine Five o'clock shadow doing him greatly in appearance. His arms might look like they were covered in wood.
“Ah...”
I heard a sound behind my back. When I turned around I saw Miss Leona widening her eyes in disbelief, she probably got surprised too at the way Grom looks. He wasn’t full metal, and now you could see his full face and the rest of his appearance now that he shed his metal skin.
Grom stood for a while, waiting for something. And I was about to take a step, two small figures, a little boy, and a little girl came running to Grom. Grom kneeled on one knee, he patted the two little children who were handing him a vest and a coat. He seems to be fond of the two children and seeing the little children pulling his arms sweetly, giggling as if they missed him made for quite a sight.
“How nice...”
Tisza who barely speaks to anyone suddenly spoke. She then pulled Miss Leone along with her forward. Elena was still checking the goods inside the boat. I didn’t want to leave without her guidance so I stayed behind for a while. I could see that there is small lift that carries people up to a hill where there seems to be a plaza and a church. In the right side, I could see sea water passage leading to a white sand beach. Besides, that passage was a pathway that leads up and judging by the look of that road. I say that it leads to the residential district where probably the Inn is located.

Around the port, there is a boat much smaller than ours. There, I saw red headed man and a burly seven-foot tall old man that has quite a raging beard. His muscles were bulging, and his tanned skin glistened under the sun. The red headed man seems to be arguing with this man.
While I was observing I didn’t notice that there was blonde haired man wearing hat filled with strange items talking to Elena. I could barely hear that Elena calls her brother and judging by their appearance he seems to be family. They were busy so I stayed on the place where I was standing.
The lift that leads to the plaza moved. I turned my eyes to it and saw a woman with a rather outlandish dress carrying some sort of document that she started writing about. After writing, the woman head inside the lift again and operated it up back to the chapel.
“Hey, did I make you wait too long?”
“No, I was enjoying the sight...this island sure is beautiful.”
“I am glad you liked it.”
The brother of Elena said.
“I am James it is nice to meet you.”
“Ah, same here, the name is Ramiel.”
“Nice to meet you Ramiel, I hope we get along.”
Saying that, James left with a bow leaving me and Elena on the harbor, Elena stared at her brother for a while before turning her eyes back at the containers once again. She thoroughly checked the items, handed the list to one of the foreman’s working in harbor and directed the ship to probably where it is docked. Elena then grabbed her bag and then said.
“Come on let me take you to the Inn first. We will discuss about your house while eating, I am starved.”
“Okay.”
Elena started walking forward. I was about to follow her when suddenly.
“Enjoy your stay here butcher...I hope that a murderer, a monster like you would take pleasure in this paradise.”
I turned my head back only to see a faint mirage of a bluish haired woman in a long white sundress. I was about to ask this woman what was she talking about, but when I blink, the woman was gone. My heart palpitated, and the words of the woman seem to have cut deep in my heart.
“Are you okay?”
Elena showered me with a bewildered expression. My heart was in chaos, but even so, I tried to compose myself, replying to Elena.
“I am fine...we should proceed.”
“Okay then, follow me.”
With that, I followed Elena. While doing so, the words of the woman that appeared like a faint heat haze didn’t leave my head.
