Chapter 145 – Will of Protection 5
He woke up seeing the stone walls of the room. At first, with his vision slightly blurred, He could not see the changes happening on his right arm. His vision finally cleared and when he saw his arms covered in black veins he panicked.
He tried to stand up but two soft hands stopped him from getting up. Feeling the soft sensation on the back of his head, he rolled his eyes up and saw Peronell smiling sweetly at him. Tears were on the edge of his eyes, Peronell gently wiped those tears.
“Are you okay?”
“I am fine. Looks like I bothered you.”
Ramiel tried to get up only to feel the hands stopping him from doing so. He looked up yet again and saw how her sweet smile looking at him with such fondness. Seeing this, Ramiel could not have helped his heart compliment Peronell again.
“Please let me get up.”
“No, you are tired...and let me have this.”
“I don’t understand.”
“I too don’t understand. Shouldn’t you be happy that the woman you are courting is doing this to you?”
“But...”
“It is okay...I accept you.”
Ramiel head that. He could not wrap his head around those words for a while. He tried speaking up, trying to go against her words yet it was so tender and caring it made him unable to speak. ‘I accept you’ those words put a halt on Ramiel’s mind, aside from his mother, his cousin. No one really did say that they accept him right in the face. These words are heavy to Ramiel.
“But I am no good.”
“That is why I accept you. You are quite the lonely guy you know?”

“So don’t worry, I will accept your love. Or are you just playing with me? Oh please don’t give me that curse excuse; I am half-elven you know? I can live far longer than you. Finding a miracle isn’t that impossible.”
“I...”
Ramiel was at loss for words. She was being brazen and aggressive right on his face. He didn’t know what happened after he fainted nor does he have any idea what just happen to her yet. Ramiel felt like this was a dream, his face went blank and the vacant look in his eyes appeared.
“That look of yours again!”
Peronell flicked his nose. Doing so made Ramie feels a bit pain on his nose. Feeling this made Ramiel understand that this isn’t a dream yet despite that he still asks.
“Why?”
“What do you mean?”
“You are implying that you are accepting me as your lover. Or am I misunderstanding things? I have never been good in speaking with other people, especially when it comes to women. I have always been blunt at anyone, and said what is on my mind and only keep a few friends by my side and sometimes I would drove them away at my own cowardice. So please let me understand.”
“Obviously I am accepting your love. Or do you not want it because of the Argos Curse?”
“Partly, you should understand that so please sto-“
“Idiot, you don’t get to decide that. You did all of those things, knowing it all that you are cursed yet somehow that you have reached this far in my heart you are afraid? Come now, I am doing this all for you. Really, you should have seen that resolute and brazen face of yours. It’s quite lovely and a lot better than your gloomy look. You keep it.”

Ramiel was dumbfounded. He still could not understand but somehow he felt his heart softened. He always felt tired in this world. He didn’t have anyone to rely upon and even have to endure a lot suffering. Yet this time he felt that he was comfortable.
Why?
Is it because of the woman that holds him or is it because of the soft thighs of her? He doesn’t know which it is but he can feel comfortable. And within this comfort, he felt his mind blank. In fact, as if he was walking for so long that somehow he found a good place to rest.
He kept his mouth shut as he gazes at Peronell. At the moment he could see her as someone brighter. He has seen her as his light of hope yet at the moment she was more of an angel to him. And among this angel’s embrace, Ramiel felt like he could for a moment let the scared lost child in him feel safe. His paranoia got extinguished, his fears withered, and his heart softened for a while.
“Thank you for this.”
Ramiel said those words while choking on tears. Peronell raised her brows up in wonder at his reaction. She doesn’t know why he was crying but seeing him act like a little child trying to hold back his tears made Peronell realize something.
“Oh your poor one...it’s okay to cry, I am here for you. Don’t worry it will be alright.”
She patted his forehead softly. Ramiel tries his best not sob in front of her yet somehow he could not help it. He thought that there would be no one that would accept him in this world. There would be no one that would actually care for him. He felt alone in this world, without any anchor to hold on, and even though he said that Peronell was his light of hope. It didn’t mean that he thought that she would actually accept him. He was fine just befriending her, and he sincerely enjoyed his days bantering with her.
But hearing her words made Ramiel feel like he was just saved, suicidal he may be but he was looking for someone to save him. So hearing her words made Ramiel feel like finally he can be relieved for once, and even though the world outside is in a state of hell...Ramiel felt like he was in heaven just by in being in Peronell’s arms.
He was in pure bliss at the moment.
