Chapter 111 – Fools Flock
Ramiel went back at the village and delivered the fingers of the goblins to Pablo. He was working in his Inn, as usual, manning the counter.
“Hey brother, I say that you are done?”
“Yeah, here are the fingers of the goblins.”
“Oh, don’t open it, cousin, I bet it would smell much.”
‘Okay,”
Ramiel laid the pouch on the counter as Pablo took some gold coins from a wooden box. Ramiel noticed, and he got curious.
“What’s with the box?”
“For the rewards, I usually get the money here.”
“Ever think of taking them?”
“And get my head chopped? No need, brother, I prefer my head intact.”
“Are the ones handling that strict?” Ramiel asks.
“They are mostly an inquisition of elites. Tough guys that can work as scouts, assassins, and hunters, most of them do their jobs well too.”
“I see, so they are deadly, do they work for the king?”
“Pretty much, no kingdom would allow a bunch of rag tagged association of individuals form a guild made with members like that, so they recruit them instead. Unlike the Fighter’s guild where you belong or the adventurers of the dungeon continent, they only work for the King and the Nation. They are as loyal as the elvens too.”
“Wow, no wonder you don’t dare to touch it.”
“You betcha, but with this, I can touch the insides, and here is your gold brother.”
Pablo took five gold coins out of the wooden box and laid them on the table. Ramiel took the coins, put them into his pocket and laid one of the gold coins on the counter.
“And can you give me some food Pablo? I have nothing to eat and I’ll eat anything I can.”
“Sure thing, I’ll put a few rabbit legs that I got from some hunter awhile ago, you can have it, and I have too much rabbit legs that it makes me sick.”

Saying that, Pablo went to his kitchen to take the food, Ramiel waited on the counter looking around the Inn. He saw some local guard walked up the stairs, there was also a fatigued ridden merchant sitting on one of the tables, with boots that are clearly stained with blood.
It was afternoon.
The air was cold as it enters through the cracks on the walls or through the door.
Ramiel could hear Pablo messing around in his kitchen. He could hear flames of the candles, dancing as the wind tries to extinguish it.
Pablo then went out of the kitchen carrying the food for Ramiel. It was put in a basket, and Pablo laid it on his counter.
“Here you go brother, you can take the old basket, I have tons of them, and this one does not match the others.”
“I’ll take anything that is free.”
Ramiel took the basket and said.
“Well, I should leave now. I will come again if I feel like it.”
“Sure, sure, you are welcome to take the tasks, it is much better when someone works on them.”
“I will if I have the time and the condition to do so.”
Saying that, Ramiel went out of the Inn and stood outside, he gazes at the crimson sky with dead eyes. After looking, he went to his house and entered.
...
Once inside his house, Ramiel saw a familiar figure that is sitting around freely and carefree. Ramiel’s walked in with a loud step, coughed and gaze narrowly at the person.
“You sure are being comfy in my house.”
“Oh, who are you? This is my house, please get out.”
“Whatever.”
Ramiel ignored Peronell and went to the big wooden crate that acts as storage for the house. In their, Ramiel stored the basket, and then proceed to sit near the wooden table. Opening his gourd of ale, Ramiel took a sip, wipe his mouth and took a deep breath. He shivered as he drinks the ale, the cold liquid entering his throat, as he fully relaxes.

Ramiel then acted as if Peronell wasn’t even there. He did what he usually does, took a sip of his ale, and then sometimes he would take something out from his pouch. A fruit he got from the forest, which is something that he takes a bit.
He did this for a while in total silence. He didn’t speak and just continued his silent act, while acting as if no one exists in front of him.
“Wow, you are a real snob aren’t you?”
“Sometimes, you have to ignore them. Maybe they will go away.”
“Is that so?”
Peronell folded her arms, lifting her modest breast up. Ramiel took a peak, but averted it as he finds it strange that is isn’t feeling anything.
“You took a look didn’t you?”
“I did,” Ramiel said honestly. “I feel nothing oddly.”
“Maybe you prefer a man’s chest?”
“Nope, not really, maybe I am too dull or too drunk, heck, do you even exist?”
“I think you are just drunk.”
“Maybe...”
Ramiel took a sip of his ale.
The mood around the house wasn’t really cheerful or anything. It is just Ramiel drinking, while Peronell looks at him with half closed eyes.
“You are persistent you know that?” Ramiel said. “I won’t ever give this house though, I have nothing to go...and you even said you can’t find me a good house.”
“I figured, at this point, I am just here to annoy you. Maybe you will give up, and so far, I quite enjoy taking on the nostalgia when you weren’t around.”
“I see it must be great for you then.” Ramiel put his hands on the table. “I would like to return your house, give your home back, but my own being comes first, sorry really.”
Peronell raised a brow at Ramiel, “You know, why not just return home? Why stay here in our village?”
“I would love to go home, but sadly, that place is unreachable, and it is impossible to go back home now. So here I am, staying in this house until I can...”
“I am sorry to hear that...”
“No need really, if I have a great house I would have given this to you already. If you get me a good house, then I am willing to turn this house over. This is your place after all, and I know how it feels to lose your home, so I understand the wanting to get your home back, so until you get me a house then I shall stay here, sorry.”
Ramiel stated that clearly.
He knows the feeling of not being able to return home.
And because of that, depriving people of their home sits badly with him. He doesn’t want to be a person who takes other people away from their homes. He can’t stomach it, and will never be able to.
“You are quite sweet in your own right you know that?” Peronell said that with a slight smile.
“Whatever, I am just telling you my honest opinion and terms...”
“Very well, it looks I can’t really force you huh...oh well, I’ll try to find land or a new house. I’ll visit, as usual, trying to annoy you.”
“Should I be happy with that statement?”
“Maybe?” Peronell said that as she sticks her tongue out.
She then left the house with quite a stride.
Left alone in the house, Ramiel took a sip of his ale and laid his back flat on the carpeted floor. This day was quite tiring for him, and he really wanted to rest.
