Chapter 95 – Quick End
Randal faced the leader of the Barbarians. He was quite shocked on how young the leader was. But nonetheless, he didn’t dare to underestimate her simply because how she took his attack without any problems.
Randal carries a greatsword made of dwarven steel, a weapon that can weigh ten times his weight.
Randal has used this weapon for the whole of his life. In his prime, he can easily lift his greatsword with one hand and swing it easily as a normal longsword.
But now past his prime Randal have to hold his beloved greatsword with both of his arms. He can still swing it easily but not as fast as back in his prime.
Randal stared at his foes.
In the battlefield, there was no need for words.
Randal can see the volition. The unbending will that is on the barbarian leader’s face.
Randal and his fighters have already put fire on their hearts.
Right now they act as the shield for the rest of the fighter’s guild.
Most of the family of the fighters and the innocent folks are now holed up on the guild inhabited territory. The Guild has also been abandoned simply so the staffers can prepare the tiger mounts that could haul them away secretly away from the city.
Most of the folks have been evacuated under the watchful eye of Dall. She went against her own taboo and used her own powers to distract the barbarians and made herself a big target.
She got hit on the right and got her side torn but she managed to survive barely due to a healer’s immediate assistance.
Everyone was doing their best to survive the barbarian raid.
Despite the odds being not their favor the fighters and the defenders of the city managed to do what they must. They protected the common folks and that alone is enough to say that they succeed.

But there are still the weaker members of the guild that are in a rush to evacuate the city. Randal made them stay forcibly by telling them that a few folks would die if they don’t. He didn’t want to use such method of placing guilt but it was the only way to make them stay.
Also, Randal called the strongest members, even the retired ones to lay down their life for the city. The Fighter’s Guild has many branches outside of Lugenstan.
The Headquarters is located on the dungeon continent. And even if Randal and his men perish here then they will only be another specter of brave men that faced danger with their heads up high.
Randal’s loved ones already were gone. He took the mantle of the Guild Master of the Lugenstan City mainly because he had nothing to lose. And by the time he realized it he thought that he cared for the guild as much as the ones that he loved.
He has his own share of regrets but Randal felt like this was the time to baptize himself in the fire.
Thus, he fought...
...
The Barbarians fought the fighter’s guild in a stalemate.
In fact, the fight was too heated up because of the leaders going all out.
Zhula the Barbarian Leader keep dodging the attacks of the Guild Master Randal.
Each of Randal’s swing creates a huge storm of dust and pebble. Zhula the barbarian was fast enough to dodge most of his attacks.
One hit can be fatal for her and despite her barbarian strength.
Randal despite being past his prime still overwhelms Zhula by a mile.
But the difference in strength was made obsolete by Zhula’s agility. She was as agile as a beast, and slowly, she was injuring Randal with a thousand cuts.

Randal was slowing down as every hit that Zhula gave her were aimed at his vitals.
Randal was bleeding all over but he wasn’t stopping his wide attacks.
His vigor was still strong and despite Zhula trying to take his neck. He was able to dodge it barely enough for him to counterattack.
Zhula’s spear was slowly falling apart. And a few more strikes and it would be destroyed.
The two was standing in the wide clearing.
The other fighters were engaging the barbarians.
Noises of the others clashing their weapons can be heard.
Every clang was fierce and the screams were fiercer.
Death throes and woes spread all over the ground where the fighters and barbarians are fighting.
Blood spilled everywhere and the smell of it pollutes the very air.
The breathing and the last breaths of the two factions sounded powerful.
Randal readied his blade for his strike.
Zhula lowers her body on the ground ready to take Randal’s head.
Their breathing aligned together.
Their stare as fierce as cornered beasts, these two were ready to end this battle.
Time wasn’t on both sides.
Randal felt like he has done enough to cover for the fighter’s guild.
His men were slowly being overwhelmed just by the size of the barbarian’s army.
Even though he knows that his men can take it.
He wasn’t delusional enough that they can somehow defeat a horde of barbarians that normal soldiers cannot hope to resist.
It would different if he had an army of fighters right now.
After all, the one that stands along with Randal is only about five hundred.
A thousand strong against five hundred veterans may be different if the enemies were normal humans.
But with the enemies being barbarians there was no way they can win other than if someone like the reaper appears.
That is why Randal, as heavy his body is right now.
Still raised his arms as the barbarian named Zhula attacks him!
With his greatsword raised up high, Randal wanted to end the battle with this single strike!
Zhula rushes at Randal with her eyes crazed.
Her vision was red as she flashes past Randal with breathtaking speed!
Then...a loud thud sounded as something heavy falls down on the ground.
That single sound echoed around the battlefield and both barbarians and fighters came to look at the winner.
Sweating heavily, wet all over her body, Zhula the Barbarian managed to pierced Randal’s throat.

Unbound Deathlord: Challenge
Due to Amazon's Kindle Unlimited rules, I had to pull most of the book content from RoyalRoad. Only sample chapters remain. To read a fiction that will never be removed from Royal Road, I recommend my other fiction: Immortal Conqueror. The first two books of the series are out on Amazon: Book 1: Unbound Deathlord: ChallengeBook 2: Unbound Deathlord: Obliteration Book 1: Challenge When virtual reality becomes real enough that people feel as if they’re being transported to another world, Valia Online arrives.A man running from his past joins the game to forget it all. Calling himself Jack Thorn, he chooses an undead race, Deathlord.A mage by choice, and a swordsman by necessity, he soon finds out that he’ll need to use much more than magic and steel to survive; strategy, creativity, and carefully chosen words can often accomplish what simple attacks can’t.As the game becomes too real and touches a part of him that he’d rather leave buried, he is faced with two questions:Who is he, really? And who should he become?

The entire novel's philosophical proposal is about finding meaning in a nihilistic world. This novel is a fun juvenalia take on the impact of the 'Death of God' and Descartes's skepticism. ;) (Back cover)

Superhuman Magus is a title that is based on a concept. Can't say more as it's a spoiler. I prefer the first title but it's just that the current title might attract more people. First title didn't make the novel seem like it's fantasy based. >>Motivation to create Novel: I created this novel to implement the vast imaginations I had while I was not creating a novel. So, there will be a lot of extreme imaginations. Most of these imaginations can only be implemented afterwards as it's a story. So it will take a while.
