Chapter 81 – Change
A week passed in the City of Lugenstan. It was fall already, and in particular, winter is coming yet again. The city is as normal as it gets. But, in the Fighter’s Guild, the death of certain member made the whole guild gloomy. The member who died was a friendly well-known member who served as the middleman for everyone who joined the guild. He was friendly, sociable and tolerant. Newcomers adored the old man for his wisdom when it comes to the guild. So hearing the death of this man made the whole guild this way.
His death was announced a week ago, but even so, the people were still cheering for his soul to go to heaven. If it was some other man who died, such thing wouldn’t happen. People die too easily in this world. And only those who etched themselves in the heart of the people are remembered.
They remember the old man as a warrior. The Guild Master made his death known, that he died fighting a ‘savage’ monster fought it bravely to his death. The members of the Guild accepted this reason. They just know that the old man won’t die other than a warrior.
The Staff of the Fighter’s Guild knows different though. They knew what happened to the old man, and the way he died brutally. They covered it up, to the point that even the eyes and ears would not know the truth. It was a painstaking task that the staff worked on for a week.
They covered up the fact that he was murdered. The staff succeeded in doing so, now the whole guild thinks differently. The Guild Master also disallowed it to say anything bad to the old man. He would drown out the news, making the lie that the old man died valiantly, the truth.

That truth got accepted.
Thus the members now do not say otherwise. And those would say otherwise that he died differently would be treated with scorn and disrespect. It took time for the Guild Master and the Staff to do this. It was odd, because of a single mistake, that they would do such thing.
It was the fault of the Guild Master. He accepted the responsibility and made a big lie about it. Now, no one will know that the old man, the initiator, the middleman, and the beloved ‘mentor’ of some, died other than the being brutally killed by a staff member of the guild.
Because of this accident, the guild changed. Anyone who would join would be now publicly tested. It was no longer a secret, mainly because of what happened. Some took this as a new ‘era’ for the Fighter’s Guild. They thought that with the old man’s death, no one would take the role that he somehow did for years.
Most of the guild members misunderstood it at as the guild master honoring the old man’s role. Not knowing that it is a cover, a way for the guild master, to cover the mistake that was made by the Guild Master’s poor judgment of character.
...
As the death of a member came, a new one also joined. This new member was quite weird, he applied for the position of the doctor, yet he wouldn’t stay in the guild all the time. So most of the time, when the fighter guild’s member need healing they would come to his house located near the walls of the city, where it is a land controlled by the fighter’s guild.
The House of the new doctor was just right in the last section of the land. The land had trees covering the area. There are also farms that the guild cultivates. His house is more of a cabin, unlike most of the houses in Lugenstan, the houses in the fighter’s guild were different for various reasons.

The Fighter’s Guild members, who seek the house, would then meet the new doctor. The new doctor was a young man. He would occasionally be seen holding a roll of tobacco, or a gourd of ale. But even with that, the new doctor would heal up anyone that comes.
It was his job, but the members of the guilds quite liked that he was welcoming to the members. Though they think that way, the real reason why the new doctor was welcoming is that he was just trying to be stoic. The first visitors heard the new doctor say ‘I expected this’ when they visited. So it gave the impression that he was welcoming person for a reason.
The New Doctor would heal them, and then after that, he would tell them how to take care of themselves. Most of the female doctors liked the attitude of the new doctor. He was quite young too, so it wasn’t that bad for them to talk with him. The male members also like his straight-no-bullshit attitude. He would do what he needs to do without a single complain or whine.
But even so, the members still would try to ask why he isn’t in the guild. But the new doctor would tell them that it was his request and that even the guild master agreed to it. So with that, no one really tried to question why he isn’t in the guild all the time, unlike the other staff members.
Of course with how things work, the doctor would be called when an expedition group would return or something big happens. So when an event happened during the week, most of the guild members saw his limping, as a result most of the guild members misunderstood that he just have a bad leg. So it all worked out for them, and they concluded in their heads that the reason why he is always in his house is that he has a bad leg.
It worked for the New Doctor well, that explanation that is. So with that reason, he was now allowed to spend most of his time in his house. He would come out to deal with at-home-in bed patients, and sometimes deliver letters to various injured members of the guild.
Currently, this new doctor is just staring at the trees in the sky. His face basked in light, with some shadows of the leaves from the trees, making patches on his face.
“Hello...”
A black-haired, docile woman entered the vicinity of his house. Seeing her appearance in his new house, the new doctor, Ramiel, stood up and kept a stiff upper lip.
“Let’s go then.”
He said as if he expected Dall’s appearance. He heard something from the loud farmers awhile ago, so he expected that soon will be called back the guild.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

I am the Main Character in this story, your's truly Nigto Zed. In this story, you would follow my life (of course) in the World of Gaia, where I would be involved in fights of both Good and Evil and also the ones inbetweens. You would also read about some of the lives of the people that I meet here from their perspective so it's not all me. Oh well, enough with this. Again, I welcome you to the World of Gaia, wherein, Man and Demi-humans alike experience the two sides of Life, The White and Pure along with the Black and Stained.
