Chapter 68 - Quick Defeat

The plain turned red, the horses neigh at the unconscious masters of theirs that lay on the ground, with a rope made of spells, the dark elven army that tried to take down Julian Nostredame was defeated.

"Papa, I think that Dace already bound most of them. What should we do next?"

"Hmm, let us see." Julian who is sitting on the ground rubs his thumbs together. "I will bring them alone; you should stay under someone as I drag them around."

"Eh, Dace wants to go too." Dace pouted.

"You can't, the dark elven kingdom is wide and dangerous, and these guys would love to reactivate you and make you explode, I do not want that to happen."

"Hmm, fine..." Dace said.

"Come on now, I am doing this for your sake. I really don't want to fight with you around. It is bad for a young one to see such level of violence at such age."

"Papa should really not bother, Dace already knows the cruel world, so no need to be a bother." said Dace.

"Eh, but still...I want you to at least have a level of innocence that you can hold precious."

Julian looked up at the sky. He remembered the days he spent relaxing under the moon, although he wasn't lying on a comfortable hay or a pile of soft grass during at the time he was in a dungeon, he still thinks that the days he looked up at the sky was one of the best time of his life. If there is one thing aside from his love towards the matriarch of the Kingdom of Lin, then it would be that.

But...

Julian's forehead crumbled, his brows creased at the thought of a certain person. He was able to remember that person, pushing him out of the crumbling dungeon just in time.

He remembered that painful expression. He remembered that cry, that person left him as if that person was thankful enough to just see Julian safe.

That was the last time Julian got saved.

The only time he got saved from despair, is through a certain person's sacrifice, just so he can find Elizabeth and try to reach her.

It has been quite a while, yet Julian still find himself chasing after Elizabeth as if his efforts weren't just enough for her.

"Papa?"

"Oh sorry, I just thought of a precious memory, how about you Dace?"

"Papa sure is dumb sometimes; Papa should know that Dace has been suffering since Dace's birth, so memories aren't that great. But if Dace was told, then the day Dace got taken in by Papa is the best days of Dace's life." Dace smiled.

"I see...So about where you want to live for a while?"

Dace puckered her lips, as she thought.

"I think that Dace should be with Miss Felli, also the formation in the Town of Tal is really strong, so no need to be worried. Also, I like Miss Felli more than Missus Elizabeth."

"HAHAHA...." Julian scratched his head.

"Now, what should I do with all of them?"

Julian asked himself, looking at the crowd of defeated dark elvens before him they look absolutely crushed, and so far, fifty of them have already committed suicide at the shame of being defeated. They are more prideful than the High Elvens and is much more of a fanatic than the Northern Dwarvens, so it could be said that an army of them being defeated wielding the best equipment made them shameful.

"Now, now, even if I have to shatter your jaws to prevent you from committing or break your limbs, you all will be going back to the dark elven kingdom, at least to what's left of it. I want you all to remember who defeated all of you. Spread it all over your nation, and make them know how strong I am. So until then...you will be dragged by me..."

Julian pointed at himself.

"Wow, Papa sure is scary."

"...Heh. I will only be scary when they are enemies...and if they are friends then I wouldn't scary, right Dace?"

Julian smirked devilishly at the defeated dark elvens.

Absolute strength comes with confidence. And Julian learned from his past on how to use this strength of his to get some things done. With it, he is able to safeguard the Kingdom of Lin from internal and external threats.

The Kingdom of Lin's prosperity and the political power the Matriarch has is what makes the Kingdom safe. The Matriarch, with the backing of the Carnifex, makes the kingdom a powerhouse. It is absurd that the kingdom relies on one man, but even so, the Kingdom is also home to knights that can take on armies.

Trained by Julian, heavily beaten by Julian, the knights of the kingdom of Lin and the mages are regularly beaten up with the help of Julian. Even though they are facing only Julian, they are also able to learn how to work unitedly against any foes.

Julian started taking the reins of the remaining army of the dark elvens, Dace who is sitting on top a rock looked at the Julian as he drags the defeated dark elvens back to their place.

"Be safe Papa! Be sure to immediately return back to the Town of Tal, Dace will be waiting okay?"

"I will, and make sure not to bother Felli once you arrived. Help out in the Inn, without Ramiel; the place has gotten a bit busier..."

"Oh...I will but don't expect much okay?"

Julian waved his hands at Dace, dragging the dark elven army with him.

Dace was then left alone in the hills. She looked like she was bored, but deep inside she felt a bit bothered by one certain aspect.

"I wonder who this Ramiel is. Dace never really meet this Ramiel. Miss Felli seems disappointed every time that name gets mentioned. Papa also seems like he wants to know where he is."

Dace skipped around the place as she thought of that.

"Hmm, never mind that, I do not want to go against Papa and Papa might really be angered if I don't get there immediately."

Saying that, Dace started muttering a flurry of words, particles of lights started to surround her, turning her into a wisp which then flies up to the sky.
