Chapter 59 – Ally under the moon
Ramiel’s return made the resistance base happier. Leone got praised for his efforts, while when the members of the resistance tried to order Ramiel around. He surprised them by actually sounding sane.
“Fuck off.”
Those words made the resistance base members drop their jaws. No one would have thought that they would see him sane. The others got pissed, tried to scare Ramiel off, but he just stared them down.
“You need me to heal you? Or you do want to die with that wound of yours?” He sneered with a deadpan face.
The buggers that tried to intimidate Ramiel backed down. Leone was just behind his back, and the way he stared at them made the members backed off. Awk who was in the base at the time asked Ramiel to heal the injured members, Ramiel saw Awk and told him straight how much of a piece of shit he is for treating him like a dog. Awk popped a vein, but didn’t do anything simply because Ramiel was right.
Ramiel is getting careless at the moment. The gourd of Ale alo helps him getting such confidence that he normally won’t have. Leone followed him everywhere while putting a red face filled with concern towards Ramiel. Ramiel was at least nicer to Leone, just because he was the only one who actually thought of him as some person, not just a dog.
“Okay where are the injured?”
Ramiel asked. The members of the resistance pointed to one of the room, he went there and started healing the members. Leone went with him, watched him work with a deadpan face.
Most of the people that Ramiel was healing got wounds from fighting, he was able to heal them quite easily, and enough practice of the healing spell made him cast it faster. He wasn’t that great in it, but the fact that glow and heal is the only spells he cast without medium, obviously Ramiel would try to get better at the spells.

The treatment continued, time passed and when Leone who was watching over Ramiel looked at the opening in the resistance base, he saw the moon’s light passing through, his eyes reflected the white object in the sky.
Ramiel who was continuously casting spell panted. He was taking a five minutes break every time since he had miniscule mana. He was healing someone who got their nail cut. The patient was quite noisy, and was complaining about his nail. Ramiel got pissed, so he showed the patient his missing three fingers. The patient made this awkward face and shutted his mouth in embarrassment. Leone giggled in the background and thought that was great.
Finally the treatment was done and Ramiel left the room full of injured. He then climbed up the resistance base’s roof and sit there, staring at the dots of light in the shiny sky. Leone who was tailing Ramiel behind, sit near him, and glanced at the moon, while hanging his feet off the rooftop, it was quite a habit of his to do that.
"Leone, want to hear a story?"
Ramiel said with blank face.
"A story?"
Ramiel nodded.
"Sure why not?" Leone smiled
"Once upon a time, there was a useless teenager that just stays in his room. He was anti-social, he didn't like talking and he was a violent one. He would stab his pen into the back of his friend's hand if he was asked. He wasn't a yes man, but nonetheless he felt like he was lost in a world that didn't like him. All of his efforts were spitted upon, while those who he thought friends, would not even call out to him, it may be his fault due to constantly escaping when they call out to him, but this young man was rather sensitive, he felt paranoid at everything he does, and during the last days of his 'education', this young man smashed his head in a stone-like floor and by the end, everyone remembered him as a crazy person, as if the person wanted them to think so. This person then was given a choice to continue his education in an institution. He was bored of it, he went with it, but within the last minute, he didn't do it. He didn't go into the institution and locked himself into the room."

"Why?" Leone asked.
"Just because."
"That's all?"
"Yeah, he thought 'I wonder what will happen' and decided to gamble his entire future because of a stupid whim."
"That sounds reckless." Leone commented
"Indeed, he is an idiot."
"So what happened next?"
"He stayed in his room again, but this time he didn't have to worry about going to class, it was all over for him. Days then passed, and finally months, the family of this 'teenager' got a bit hot tempered at him, he got scolded, lashed out, berated and told that many names. It sounds nothing, and you can say that the 'teenager' was just being a brat. But, you know what, everyone has their own damage, maybe that teenager got his when he smashed his head repeatedly in the concrete, he wasn't thinking straight. But..."
"But?"
Leone tilted her head.
"Nothing happened."
"Eh?"
"Exactly what I said, the brat was so stubborn that no matter what they do he won't bulge. He stayed inside his room; a leech towards the family, his cousin would sometimes convince the brat to go out to the world. But every time he would go out, and every single time he would try to discover what he truly wanted, he would find nothing but disappointment, both to himself and to the world that seems like it would put a collar on him and make him work till his death. Leone, is that freedom to you?"
"Everyone has their obligations to the world, like bees, each and every person has a role to play."
"Maybe so, but the brat could not take it. That is why felt like rebelling. And one day..."
Ramiel looked up above; he saw dots of lights filling the space.
"He was told to get out to the world, experience a trip to paradise. Do you know how that trip ended?"
"How?"
"The ship drowned and he was put into hell."
Ramiel's voice was filled with dread and bleakness.
"And then?"
"Who knows?" Ramiel smiled. "I don't how his Tale would end, whether its tragedy or not, I just do not know. But one thing for sure...the person experienced that he has taken everything for granted. And this person is now drowning in regret, as parts of him die..."
Ramiel said.
Leone frowned a bit in dismay. But then he said:
“Well I hope this person gets well.”
“Heh...”
Hearing that made Ramiel smile a bit.

His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region
