Chapter 53 – Monologue of Ludak
I see the world in great color now. Yesterday, I was singing in front of a crowd of children on a stage. They liked how I moved my hips and in the end, a fan even gave me some tip using his palm!
It was an unprecedented event to me. I never was quite the popular one but ever since arriving in this city and getting a new look, I have been making people laugh and clap their hands at me! I like it.
Even the newcomer fan of mine seems like he adores me though. Can’t help it, with my awesome otherworldly performances! Though, I sometimes avoid that fan now and go to the place where piñatas are just hanging around. Picking up a bat, smashing the piñatas is really fun to do. It became a habit of mine to do so. My new friend would sometimes come with me. He also likes smashing the melon shaped piñatas that I assume to be tied on some rope. They move a lot, and smashing them is quite hard.
I think that the one that put the piñatas should make it easy. If other people couldn’t hit it then it would be too bad. But my friend Awk would tell me that it is okay though. So I just smash the piñatas away. He even lets me target the piñatas with a crossbow. Weird, but I particularly don’t mind it at all.
The world is really beautiful ever since I arrived in this city. It is like everything has been colorful ever since those men invited me to this place. They were rough with the sack in the head and the braces to make sure I don’t peak, but arriving in this place was fun. I even got a new look, and despite my aching leg, it has been great!

I would love to take a picture but I left my camera to that lady. I should be able to get it back, but it seems a storm is brewing everywhere outside the city. I mean, it is an otherworld so I do not question it that much.
The people around seems to rely on me. So sometimes, I would come with them, heal them. Heck, I even sometimes have the guts to call myself as a doctor. The people would just smile. They even give me some treat that I really liked.
A person would sometimes approach me. He looks like he always wants to get in my way, I feel like he is worrying for nothing. Everyone treats me well in the city, no one really bullies me and even that tanned dude near the gates would sometimes banter with me. He is a fun dude, though he would try hitting me with his weapon jokingly. I hate it sometimes since he really is clumsy.
The person who approached me always accompanies me everywhere. He acts like we are that close, even though we aren’t. He looked like he is trying to say something but I ignore him.
I know that he is joking. I mean, looking around I see nothing wrong. The city might be in a desert, but it has fun things. Different colors painted on the side, there are some abstract murals that seem fuzzy to look at!
Really, I understand that girl-like boy elven. He is such a worrywart that it makes me wonder if he is just insane? I mean, who wouldn’t be happy in a paradise like this?
It is much better than the Town of Tal. I like it here, I feel always cheerful and I swear that there is nothing wrong. It must be that elven dude’s imagination. No way could this place be that bad. I mean my friend Awk always bring me beef jerky! And more beef jerky!

I never get fat too since I got my performances and exercising around the town. The people like me and it couldn’t even be better! I just hope that elven dude would understand what I see.
Maybe he is just an edgy kind of person? He seems like that, so now thinking about it, it should make sense. Sigh, people really are delusional these days. Sometimes they can’t accept what they see.
......
I wonder why my heart ached a bit. Probably the amount of beef jerky I am eating maybe? I have been eating since I arrived in this city. Not to mention that I got many calls from different people who always have stomach aches. They scrape their knees, arms, and torso too much. I feel like they should stop getting reckless. But even with my warning, they don’t really say anything to me.
Quite rude, even though I am the only doctor in the city, it is weird that they act so snub. Maybe grown men being injured due to playing too much made them act like that?
I followed them once and they always seem like they are playing with some armored dudes from the other block. They even have this bloody effects, and I am guessing when they bet that when one of the team losses, they would take each other’s clothes as a punishment. Although the other dudes really don’t take the guys that I know, clothes.
Quite weird, but I guess role playing isn’t going to click with me. I just watch in the distance and wait for them to get done their role playing. I would then help them with my magical doctor skills but really they are always grumpy!
Sad that they are like that, but it is okay, they are friends and I could not bring myself to scold them. It’s their fun and I am not a killjoy anyway so they can do whatever they want.
Though they are really good at making scenarios, and I fear that they may be really getting far too deep into the conspiracy theories. They should know that there is a huge storm outside the city, and these guys seem like daredevils trying to get out in that kind of fuzzy storm!
I don’t understand them sometimes.

The Shape of Home
The world of Alvelotyl is one of fantasy, one filled with many races, an expansive magic system exploring themes of identity, some LitRPG elements, moral ambiguity and no small amount of magical inventions similar to those in our world. Dragons with blogs showing off their hoards of treasure live alongside [Hunters] chasing Giant Toads, or [Bandits] using rifles charged with Fire Magic. The Shape of Home is a story within this world, and follows the exploits of Yuri Scalesmith, a budding Lizardfolk adventurer from a small country town with a knack for inventing, and how her life drastically changes after she’s taken from home forever following a single catastrophic event. After being taken from her previously normal life, Yuri is thrust into a world of sprawling streets, magically mutated monsters, and a crime war for territory stretching across an entire city. The Shape of Home normally updates every Tuesday and Saturday at 6PM GMT, but I'm trying out different upload times to see how people react and attract others in differing timezones. There will be two week long breaks after each story arc's Interlude. This story is also a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!

Moonlight follows the stories of Claire, Jayden, and Seraphine, as they learn to control these powers that desire to consume them. Author Notes: Hello! This isn't my first attempt at writing a story, and it isn't even my first attempt at writing this particular story, but I'm not in any way what I would call "experienced". I decided to upload my writing here because I just wanted to get my ideas out there, and I wanted to get some constructive criticism for my writing from the RRL community. All comments are welcome, but please try to keep them positive and constructive! If you leave a rating, I would appreciate it if you left a short explanation of what you liked and what I can improve on. I'll be uploading each chapter as I finish them, but this is still the first draft so anything and everything is subject to change. The cover art is drawn by me, but I'm in no way married to it. I just wanted something that showed the three magical sources, as I picture them in my head. If you do any art based on this story, send it to me! I would love to see it. I'll stop talking now, I hope you enjoy the story!
