Chapter 42 - Harbor
Ramiel went to the harbor. Lady Aubrey asked him kindly to do so. He agreed since it is only a small matter to him. Standing on the harbor with his camera in hand, Ramiel took a picture.
From the galleon ships that is docked in the harbor.
From the workers that are busy carrying the crates from the galleons.
Ramiel stood in a long winded wooden path. In front of him were various people doing their work. Some of them stared right at him. Near the galleon ships lies a merchant sitting on a chair. In front of the merchant was a table and lines of people which Ramiel guessed as the crew of the galleon ships. Ramiel took a picture of them silently. He didn’t turn on the flash with the fear that they might look his way.
He looked above the sails of the galleon ships fluttering along with the wind. The ships are lined up neatly across the harbor. The harbor was busy, the workers were loud, and the children who are running around.
Ramiel walked onwards to the end of the harbor. There he saw some of the fisherman fishing idly, looking at the sea. He glanced at the ends of the sea. The clouds lined up neatly like rows of mountains before him. Ramiel could see the armadas of ships around the galleon ships that are leaving. They are escort ships and they are protecting the ship.
Ramiel felt the wind permeate through his skin. He turned to one of the corners of the harbor, pulled out his camera and recorded the busy scene before him. As he recorded the activities of the harbor, the image of the lady asking him to take a picture of the harbor appeared on his mind, he wondered what’s up with that. He knew that the lady might not have gone out for a long time. But even so, Gundry should have at least made her tour around the town, is what Ramiel thinks.

I think that he should have let the lady roam around. But I guess Gundry have reasons why he cannot let the lady roam free. I guess the curse is the reason for it.
Ramiel continued on observing the harbor. As he did, he saw the usual scenes, and throughout his recording, he managed to spot a giant bird that looked like a pelican. It made Ramiel drop his jaw the moment he saw this pelican-like bird fly above the harbor. He also saw the way it dived down the deep blue ocean and ripped off a shark that has a skin of an alligator!
Ramiel saw it all happened and was quite shocked! But the workers only found the scenery normal and only stopped for a while before getting back to work. Ramiel gulped the moment he saw how normal this scene is to the people. He then took a deep breath and calmed himself. He looked at the battery of his camera and seeing that it has only one bar left of the battery. Ramiel stopped his recording and went back to the Inn.
...
Ramiel walked back to the Inn. He arrived faster than expected. Arriving he saw the busy scene inside. Felli spotted him and gestured him to help out. Ramiel agreed and then hastily worked on the Inn. He somehow managed despite the aching throat and wrist of his.
After work, he went up to the attic room. There he searches for his solar charger, and let the camera charged while the sun is still out. Seeing that it may take a while, Ramiel took a nap on his bed.
...
Ramiel woke up from his short nap. Opening his eyes, and rubbing it. He took a look at his camera and found it half charged. It was enough for him, so he took the camera and went down the Inn.

The Inn was empty at the moment. Desha was cleaning up the tables. She saw him and gestured her to help. But Ramiel clapped his hands together and waltz out of the Inn. Desha frowns at Ramiel’s behavior and was about complain to Felli when Felli herself came out and told her to not mind it because they are getting paid for Ramiel to go to that place.
Desha asked what they want from Ramiel. Which Felli can only shrug her shoulders and tells Desha that she herself does not know.
...
Ramiel went back to the lady’s house. Inside he found out that Gundry was nowhere to be found. So he waited for a moment on the couch only to glance a written note place on top of the table. Ramiel grabbed the note and inspected it.
Surprisingly, the note was written English, so Ramiel was able to understand it. Inside the note, it tells that he is free to enter the lady’s room. Thus with that permission granted, Ramiel went to the lady’s room.
Night was already here the moment Ramiel came to the lady’s house. So when he entered the door and saw the figure of the lady melancholy watching the moon outside, made Ramiel felt a beat on his heart. Her black hair, along with her red eyes made the lady looked like a goddess. Her pale skin reflected the moonlight and the way it basks her made her shine.
“Excuse me...”
Ramiel said as he entered the room. Wiping the expression he was making the moment he saw her figure. Ramiel pulled out the camera and sat down in front of the lady.
The Lady didn’t rise up her barrier and just stared at the screen of the camera. While she stares, Ramiel carefully slides the picture he took from the harbor. After that, he placed the camera right on the lady’s table and let her watch the scenes he recorded on the harbor.
The Lady’s eyes glittered as she watched the video. It amazed her how the device managed to capture the scene and also let her hear the sounds.
Ramiel who was in front of the lady looked oddly at her, he thought that without the cold demeanor, the lady is a rather poor bird on the cage. And seeing the child-like joy that the lady expresses as she watches, made Ramiel think that this isn’t so bad after all.
