Chapter 41 – Can you please?
Ramiel told the lady everything that he hides. Just to get a bit of trust from the lady, Ramiel told her of the world he was from. From how incredible the modern world, and the feats it has achieved. In order to support his statements, he made use of the camera. It pained him to let others see the contents but the insides of the camera proved useful to Ramiel’s point.
Lady Aubrey listened to Ramiel. Her eyes sparking, the lady was quite thrilled about the new world that she has discovered. An unprecedented statement coming from an otherworlder!
Ramie continued his talk. He told her everything that he knew. He also told the lady about the way he found himself into this world. He vented all of his troubles to the lady. There was no one that he could talk to in this world. No one could understand and naturally without thinking, he let all of his troubles be known to this lady.
Lady Aubrey quietly listened to Ramiel. She thought that the way that he got into this world is worthy of being inscribed down in one of her scrolls. It is a story that can be considered as a one in a million. Her ancestors have always recorded various stories.
And seeing an oddity in front of her, the Lady could not help but feel that her luck isn’t that bad. She then praised Gundry inside her mind, thinking that his guts were indeed right. The man named Ramiel was someone worthy to be hired, simply because of the story.
Ramiel who was telling his story to the lady find her smiling. He was quite stunned with that smile of hers. It was the first time she saw the lady smiling and it was dazzling. Ramiel shook his head and continued on telling his tale. The lady listened patiently until before they know it, it was already midday.

Ramiel was done with his tale. For the first time in a while, he was feeling relieved. All of his troubles and all of everything that he suffered got revealed to someone who doesn’t even trust him that much. He knows that he might have gone overboard in doing so but nonetheless something inside his head, made him unconsciously wanted the lady to sympathize him. He acted and lied even, so the lady would take pity on him.
Ramiel did not have any good skills to speak off. But in a way, the two things he was good at was acting and lying. In order to skip school, he used many lies. From using the pain of him wanting to take a dump as an excuse that he is hurting. Or from lying that the teacher somehow told him to get an excuse slip from the guidance’s office.
Ramiel was a natural liar. He excelled on acting out to make the other person pity him to an extent. That is why in some way or another, he succeeded in making the lady before him take pity on him.
But as the Lady was someone who worked with some people who has hidden interests. She caught some of Ramiel’s lie. She ignored the lies of his and only keeps silent throughout the way he continued on speaking.
By the end of Ramiel’s endless babbling, the Lady gave a sigh. She then told him that she will help him out through a condition that he will take pictures and videos of what she desired. Ramiel agreed unconditionally without thinking for he wanted to be on the lady’s good side until he learned the language of the land.
...
Past noon, the talk was all done. Gundry came into the room and insisted on letting Ramiel take a meal with them. Ramiel was about to refuse since it would be too insolent of him. So he told them that he will go out and buy his own. So Ramiel went out of the house and strolled around the business streets eating the various delicacies in the stalls.

While walking Ramiel felt that there was a stare pointed at him. He first thought to pinpoint the stare but immediately dispelled the thought when he remembered that he needs to go back to the lady’s house. Walking for a while, he then went back to the house of the lady Aubrey.
Back in the house, he saw Gundry doing what he usually does. He saw how busy he was in taking care of the house so he just gestured him to take him to the lady. He felt that he needs permission from him to meet the lady. Ramiel was being respectful towards the servant. He thought of the way the lady got angry the moment he called him a ‘servant’. He concluded that the lady thinks of Gundry as a family. So it would be idiotic of him to offend him. Thus he was more polite with him.
Gundry took Ramiel back to the lady. The lady welcomed Ramiel, and oddly she wasn’t rising up her barrier. Ramiel thought that she forgot so he commented.
“Did milady forget to put up her barrier?”
“I won’t need it.”
That surprised Ramiel a bit. He thought that the lady might have begun trusting him even for a bit. So he casually walked to the same spot he usually sat and talked.
“So will milady teach me them?”
“I will.” she pulled some of the scrolls. “While you were out I wrote the proper way to speak the language. I made some guidelines and made sure to match it up with the language you wrote. With it, you should be able to learn the language.”
“That’s awesome!” Ramiel said.
“But it will still depend on your attitude and focus. So when you are done learning this part, asked me for the next batch.”
“You did all of this? That is quite fast.”
“What did you expect? I am a scriber, and it is my job to stay and write on paper for eternity...”
The Lady made a desolate expression as she said that.
“I am sorry to hear that,” Ramiel replied.
“No need for your sympathy. So since I have done you a favor already, will you listen to the task, I will give to you?”
“What is it?” Ramiel nodded.
“Can you please, take a picture of the harbor?”

God complex
A hero is summoned to another world, vanquishes evil, yadda yadda, saves the kingdom and lives happily ever after. There is no such hero in this story. Just a desperate youth with great ambition and very little to lose. A zero to hero style story set in a country clearly inspired by modern USA with just as many issues and the minority of mages often pulling strings from the shadows. I am also hoping the whole thing won't turn out edgy enough to cut me. I want to rely on actual good writing rather than cheap powertrip gimmicks. edit: Please don't mind Zetari's salty review. He is quite literally making up any use of the torture and human experimentation trope and says MC is blank after 4 chapters where he conveniently stops reading just at the start of his first character development. For extra entertainment, I will be uploading chapters two at a time and compose a relevant poem through the chapter names. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Game Dungeon
A recently deceased man finds himself imprisoned in a prismatic gem, confused and missing pieces of his memory he wishes to play video games, but to his horror, he is stuck in a world of sword and magic. Hello! I am the writer of Game Dungeon thanks for your feedback! Although my intentions were not to insult the reader I can see how someone would think that way. I have no plans to change it as of now and it's better to put it out there as a warning that I use a lot of words with similar meanings but are used very irregularly. Honestly speaking my English teacher was weird and a lot of words I use are more complicated than they need to be, but again something I was drilled into was not reusing words apart from "I".

Just a Game
“A great corruption is spreading. The people cry out for a savior. For a hero. For YOU! Come join the fight, as the chosen of World Tree! Receive the blessings of the gods, battle fierce monsters, and become the hero you were meant to be, in Arcanum Online!” It was the cheesiest commercial Ethan had ever heard, but the gameplay was enough to draw him - and thousands of others - to the fantasy world of Lazuros. It’s the sort of place that can really draw you in - a huge open world, a deep character customization system, and a feature that makes time pass slower inside the game, extending your limited playtime! It was a little strange, though. As if it was a bit too realistic for a game of swords and sorcery. The NPC’s seemed almost alive, most quests didn’t reset and monsters respawned slowly. Still, for all it’s quirks, it was a good game! Just a game. And nothing more. …right?
