Chapter 19 - Reconnection
The weather outside was too cold, so the three went inside the Inn. There was no one around, so Julian just sat on one of the tables. Put his tricorn hat on top and took the bag that he came to deliver. Ramiel looked at the bag for a while, and turn towards Julian. He doesn’t know what this about so he just grabs the bag as Julian gestured him to do so.
What’s this?
Ramiel opened the bag only to find out three familiar items inside. Seeing Ramiel’s widely open eyes, Julian thought that he was right. It is indeed his belongings.
My Smartphone, my camera, and my solar charger!
Ramiel’s joy went up as he took the items and sit on the nearby table to check them. Felli who took some drinks from the kitchen got curious about those items, but she turned towards Julian and poured him a drink. Sitting in front of Julian, the two then talked while Ramiel inspects his items.
Ramiel inspected his Smartphone first and tried to turn it on. Pressing the button on the side, he waited for about ten seconds only to find out that it won’t turn on.
It looks like it isn’t busted. So he took the cover on the on the back and inspected it. But it seems to have a swim on some water...no wonder it isn’t working.
Ramiel felt disappointed that his Smartphone is broken. Next, he checked the camera and presses the power button with his index finger. Light shone on the screen of the digital camera. Seeing it, light shone upon Ramiel’s eyes. He then immediately attacked the solar charger and see if it functions. There is a blink of light on the solar charger, so it could be said that it is still working.

This is lucky for me! Looks like them forcing me to take pictures of the island and the coral reefs were worth it! Thank God for this!
Ramiel felt extremely happy about these items. After all, these items are the last token he has to his past world, his only connection and proof that he once lived there. As he felt happy, he turned on the camera, switch to the gallery and sees the pictures of his family.
Looking at the faces of his family on the screen of the camera, his happy face froze over. Taking the broken Smartphone, the camera, and the solar charger, Ramiel went to Julian bowed his head in deep thanks. Julian who was talking to Felli stared at the Ramiel’s face and nods his head.
Ramiel then stared at Felli and gestured that he wanted to rest. Felli bobs her head and gestured him to take a rest.
Ramiel bowed again towards the two and slowly walked towards the stairs while holding the bag containing his belongings tightly. There was a melancholic aura all over Ramiel. It was the aura of someone who just found something precious. And the two who saw him go up felt that they could not even let him stay here and drink with them.
...
Time passed on the Inn. The two in the bar made up for lost time in talking about anything they could. From Julian’s adventurers to Felli’s ventures since the day they went their separate ways. The two met in a lone village once, it was at the time where Julian who was able to escape a dungeon fainted on the road. Felli was the one managed to find him and save him from the streets.
“Remember when you were not this impressive?” said Felli.
“Please do not remind me.” Julian smiled wearily.

He found his past rather embarrassing. Not to mention that in those times, he was like a wild beast that escaped captivity. And he was rather too single-minded at that time. So even though Felli saved him, Julian was a bit rude. But even so, the two managed to be friends.
“He he, well it is fun to tease you as always. It is not every day you can tease the feared reaper so much. The carnifex acting this way makes me feel happy.”
“Or you could just be a sadist Felli.” replied Julian.
“No, I am not. Besides, I am merely teasing you. I think you used the wrong word there.”
“Ah whatever really, “Julian took a sip of his cup. “Anyway, it sure has been a long time since we talk and drink like this isn’t it?”
“Yeah, if I remember correctly our last drink was right after you got healed up from that raid.”
“That was five years ago,” said Julian “I can’t believe that time flies so fast.”
“Indeed it does. I mean look at us. I am now just an owner of an Inn while you are even much of nightmare than ever.”
“A nightmare, well things happen.” Julian’s image reflected on his cup. His face, filled with extreme coldness.
“Things happen? Julian, slaughtering an entire guild of assassins and putting an end to the werewolves in the north isn’t that easy. Or since we are talking about you, I say that you can casually talk like that because it is that easy.” Felli crossed her arms, lifting her supple breasts up.
“But at this point, I am not that surprised.” Felli continued.
“Thanks.” said Julian.
“Why thank me?” Felli tilted her head. “I didn’t do or say anything that pleased you.”
“No, it is just that I thank you for not being afraid of me. In fact, most of the people who hear my name would just scream.”
“What do you expect? You are someone who can handle an army by your own damn self. So it should be no surprised that people will fear you. Besides, I like my men strong and someone that can act embarrassed.”
“Is that so?” Julian took another sip of his cup.
“Yes. If you weren’t such a softy friend of mine then I wouldn’t be this comfortable speaking to you.” Felli rested her chest on the table while putting her hands on her cheeks. There is allure in her eyes, and Julian who saw this could not help but sigh.
“Well...let's continue drinking shall we?” said Julian.
“Tsk, cowardly as always.” Felli clicked her tongue as she sat up properly. Grabbing the bottle beside her, she poured the contents of her cup and drank. Julian smiled awkwardly at Felli as he partakes on his drink.
While drinking, Julian then glance at the snow outside, thinking of someone.

A Sky of Star and Strength
Jake was just an intelligent kid living a pretty regular life in Mill Creek, Washington. Then the apocalypse happens. Now with his Dad out of the country and totally in yet out his element, this is his story. My take on a system apocalypse based around "life force" as a currency. The main character will have a special power (as will most of the other characters) and be rather OP, you have been warned. Like many of the authors on this site I have no formal writing experience so writing tips and grammar corrections are much appreciated :)

Into The Fray
In a war-ridden world where metaphysical powers are the norm, Alma Gustafsson, a defect with no abilities whatsoever, stood at the top of it. This mission was supposed to be a standard one. Get behind enemy lines, kill the metal puppets, destroy the flying fortress, escape with body and life intact. To be the first one to stare at the eyes of their true enemy was surprising enough, and dying was already a sharp reminder of what she is: A defect that has no place in the battlefield. But somehow, meeting an old man in the middle of the forest was more important to her than the events that transpired. “Your grit is one of a kind, girly. I need that.” Said the old man, giving her a chance to go back out there and fight once more. It was a stupid offer, making her choose between eternal happiness of heaven and the meaningless fighting that she has done all those years. However, she never took herself as a smart person. Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.
