《Seeking the Pinnacle》Chapter 40: Departure and Qian Feng's Plans

It didn't take long before Qian Feng realized that his current rate of progress wasn't going to be enough. Upon receiving the body tempering techniques, he had planned to reach the Completion, and maybe Mastery, stage of proficiency with all three. But, when Qian Feng started practicing, even under the waterfall, he wasn't content with how quickly he grew. If he wanted to progress to the peak, then he had to grow as quickly as possible, so his talent would be recognized and he could gain more resources. That meant that he had to seek out any opportunities he could.
Qian Feng left his residence in Reun Arena and went to go see the Iron Fox. "Master, are there any places or items that could help me speed up my rate of body cultivation? I feel as if this arena no longer holds any prospects for me."
"Well, the little bird has decided to grow wings, huh? Do you really think you can just leave before completing this part of your training? I have the whole training period planned out, and there's no way that you can just throw a stone into the entire plan!
Though, to be fair, you have surprised me before...
Alright, I'll give you a chance. This part of the training was to make sure you reached a certain level of strength before you moved on to the next phase, so as long as you are as strong as you need to be, I'll take you along to where we're going next. Don't worry, either, because that place will satisfy your 'conditions' just fine.
So, punch my hand. I may not be what I used to, but there's no way a brat like you will hurt me, so don't bother holding back. If you're good, we move on, and no skin off my back - you train even more and the plan moves even faster for you, brat. Go on. What are you waiting for?"

Aware that this was his chance to move at his rate instead of his master's, Qian Feng got into a fighting stance and circulated his Force Qi throughout his body. His muscles bulged and flexed as a perfect punch was executed, each ounce of muscles putting force into the strike. The superposition of his Earth and Force domains(his Life was held back because it wouldn't be very helpful to his predicament and he didn't want to risk exposing his third affinity) augmented the fist whirling through the air even further, granting it the weight of the earth and the strength of a dragon.
The strongest punch Qian Feng without using a martial technique dissolved into his master's hand, fizzing out like a spent firecracker.
Just a dull thud, and all that power, enough to send even early Martial Kings sprawling, disappeared. Of course, Qian Feng hadn't expected his mysterious master to be weak, but regardless, not strong enough to take a full-power punch and not move an inch.
"Well, not bad, kid. Looks like that time you spent locked up in your room wasn't all wasted. And here I was scared to intrude for fear of scarring these old eyes, with the amount of time you spent in there. Well, a deal's a deal. You satisfied my requirements, by a bit, so we move on."
With that, Qian Feng and his teacher's comfortable stay in the residences of Reun Arena came to a close, and they were back on the road(their caravan, at least - the party had their own residences connected through the door).
"Alright, so, I bet you want to know where we're going. Well, lucky you, cause where we're going, surprise sure isn't going to do you a lot of good. To avoid that, I guess I have to tell you what you need to know.

We're heading to a little place called the Ancestor's Tomb. Now, I know that place sounds a little ominous..."
The Iron Fox stopped there for a second and then continued. "So there are a few things that I'll tell you I normally wouldn't. It really would be rather troublesome if you died on my watch, no?
The Ancestor's Tomb is what the name of the place would suggest - a tomb for a little guy called The Ancestor. He was, as rumor would have it, a Martial Overlord. While all the really good stuff has long been taken away, there's still some treasure that the big shots turned up their nose at, leaving it for the smaller cultivators. And that stuff includes, of course, body tempering treasures, which is what you asked for.
Naturally, with opportunity also comes danger, and there are still plenty of traps around, not to mention everyone else, who will be trying to steal anything valuable you get. That's why we can call it a tempering experience!"
As Qian Feng asked and clarified, the carriage sped on, moving closer and closer towards the Ancestor's Tomb.

Essence Eater (A Super Progression Fantasy)
Gods. Demons. Aliens. Superheroes. Supervillains.Consume them all for power. Eighty years have passed since WW2, when Prime took to the skies and ended the war. No one knows what gave him his power, or what birthed the wave of supers that came after. Some claimed the nuclear bombs dropped in Japan cracked the barrier between Universes, allowing alien energies to enter the dimension. Others believed the wars finally triggered what humanity needed to reach a new stage of evolution. Daniel Das lives with his uncle in post-super London, the League of Hero's primary hub. He's spent all of his twenty-one years pushing himself, training in martial arts and studying supers, hoping he'll awaken his metagene and gain super powers. The cut-off age is close, but he hasn't yet awakened superpowers. Meanwhile, the League is steadily losing parts of the city to the growing villain factions. Daniel's uncle wishes to keep him away from the world of supers, but with the hot zones closing in, that's easier said than done. There are villains selling unregulated superpowers to gangs and dark days are on the horizon. Despite his limitations, there is no stopping Daniel. He is ravenous for power. If needed, he will ally with demons if they give him the power to protect his family and home. -------------------------------- This world building is heavily inspired by Worm and The Boys. It features dark, realistic storylines, corporation-funded heroes, and villains who aren't necessarily bad guys. The protagonist's powerset involves the crowd-favourite consuming enemies for power trope, too. The GameLit/LitRPG elements are super light and takes a while to kick in. The powercreep is slow as well since I don't enjoy overpowered protagonists. Chapters everyday until book 1 is complete. The schedule will change once I reach that point.

Curiosity Killed The Imp
A/N: On hiatus (higher priority). The story is planned out but I need to do some rewriting for clarity and cohesiviness. Still very interested in the story though. Aeris is a place of endless conflict. Bloody evolution is the way forward, and the closed fist is the path given. Life is a luxury granted only to the strong. In a tiny corner, at the edge of a volcanic land, is born an imp. An imp no different from any other save one thing. An anomaly in its code. A blip in its creation. For unlike other imps, this one was born…curious. Book Cover by Betty Elgyn: https://www.deviantart.com/bettyelgyn

Soul Core Online
Soul Core Online was a game that few people were interested in until after it was released, due to its odd way of handling character growth but this soon changed as people started to realise just how different this game was. Unlike many of its predecessors the NPCs in Soul Core Online acted in a way that was indistinguishable from real people and the world felt alive because of this instead of the empty and sterile cities we had come to expect, even walking down the street could give you insights to how these people lived. In my case this was the world that I had always wanted to visit and I soon found myself embroiled in the constantly changing world that is Soul Core Online.
