《Seeking the Pinnacle》Chapter 24: Finally, the Inheritance!

A young child stood up in a wooden room.
With sharp eyes and a bulky body, Qian Feng had changed. To even someone inexperienced in martial arts, Qian Feng emitted a fearsome air, one that knew bloodshed and battle. This, coupled with the age of its holder, was a very unusual sight.
Even his movements exuded a vigorous sort of ferocity and power, unlike those spoiled young masters who spilled grace from their every pore, but were weak when it came down to it. He had benefited greatly from those years in the Third Trial, far more than the second or first, even combined. As for just how much, Qian Feng didn't want to think too much on it and ruin the surprise of finding out just how much his battle power had risen.
Although Qian Feng's cultivation hadn't risen, his skills had experienced a qualitative change that would prove more useful than if he had advanced, even if the trial brought him directly to the Martial King stage.
Having nothing else to do, Qian Feng continued onto the next room, wondering if it was another trial, and hoping that it was.
His hopes were let down, however, as Qian Feng walked into the vast expanse of the next room and noticed the surroundings. The room was almsot fully empty, with only a pedestal with a ring on it in the very center it. Considering the possibilities of what that ring oculd be did cheer Qian Feng up quite a bit.
Chances were that ring was one of the most valuable treasures at Qian Feng's level: a spatial ring.
As could be inferred, a spacial ring made use of rare inscriptions and powerful Qi to open up an independent space, which could be opened and closed based on the owner's will, enveloping selected objects or retrieving them. Not only was it highly convenient, but some spatial rings had the ability ot bolster the battle power of the owner - Qian Feng had worn such an item, in fact, in the Third Trial's space, which functioned as both a storage space and a combat ability enhancer. Of course, that was only in the illusionary world; no way that Qian Feng would be able to get such valuable equipment anytime soon.

Excited again, Qian Feng walked up to the spatial ring and slipped it on his finger, noting that nothing special happened(this seemed like the expected result, but in a place as extraordinary as the Forest King's mansion, this was indeed out of the norm).
Qian Feng knew how a spatial ring worked: one needed to infuse it with blood, binding it to them, which would connect them to the space contained and allow access to the items inside. So, naturally, Qian Feng did just that.
Immediately, QIan Feng's consciousness was linked to a several cubic meter large space, containing a large array of items that all exuded unique auras, proving that none of the items there were ordinary, common things.
The first thing that caught his attention was a large, bejeweled box with inscriptions all over it. On the top, the following was written:
To open this box, you must swear to the heavens never to discuss anything directly pertaining to the subject of the matter contained, then provide it your blood.
Qian Feng thought it over. No loopholes seemed to be contained within, and nothing was in the oath that would cause him harm. Of all people, Qian Feng was especially confident, as someone fluent in his previous life's "legalese" and far more proficient in all manners of trickery and shamelessness.
"I swear to the High Heavens and the blood flowing within me, that I will never discuss anything directly pertaining to the subject of the matter contained within this box." Qian Feng had learned all things important to the cultivation world from his training with the Iron Fox, including how to make a heavenly pact, which was often used to make sure people would never break their word. After all, who would dare go against their promsie and attract the wrath of the heavens?

With that, Qian Feng pricked another hole in his skin with a needle made of sharpened Force Qi, dripping his blood onto the box.
It then opened up naturally, revealing a letter on a piece of pristine parchment. It read:
I was untalented and easygoing, destined not to go far in life. My family came from a simple background, and we were pressed for money. Even despite this, I laid back and let my siblings do the work as I relaxed, napping and passing it off as cultivating.
But one day, when I wandered around the fields in an arbitrary stroll, I encountered a deep blue and black pearl lying in the grass. That was when everything began to change.
Despite my lack of talent and my inability to work heard, this treasure pearl, the Ancient Cosmos Pearl, allowed me to reach the Martial Emperor realm, just through me cultivating in its space. In this, I only unlocked very few of its abilities and potential, but this pearl alone allowed me to rise to the top.
Looking it over, Qian Feng thought it explained much. He was thinking that the means in this inheritance were rather extraordinary - no matter how powerful a Martial Emperor was, they would never have access to a technique as powerful as Harmony Blade, let alone Trigger or Titan's Fortress. So, this was a valid answer. A Martial Emperor supported by the, what was it, Ancient Cosmos Pearl, would indeed be able to set up something like this.
But if everything in this note was taken to be true, just how extraordinary was this pearl? According to the man himself, he barely worked and had no talent or special resources, but could still reach the Martial Emperor realm, which many talented young princes of full dynasties had no hope of reaching? Either something was wrong, which Qian Feng didn't think was true, or this treasure could oppose the very heavens.
Qian Feng scanned over the contents of the very large spatial ring - it made sense, considering the fact that its owner was a Martial Emperor, which was a very rare identity here - and found an ordinary box way in the outreaches. The only thing that drew Qian Feng's attention to it was the fact that it seemed to resist his scanning, reflecting it back. If he had to guess, Qian Feng would say that that was the Ancient Cosmos Pearl; nothing else could be so domineering to reflect his very consciousness scanning the contents of a spatial ring.
Taking the box out, Qian Feng opened it without resistance to reveal...

So What If I'm Trash? Who Needs Cultivation?!
Qing Shan Long. They say he isn't human. An escaped experiment from some government facility, a reincarnation of a saint, a freakish superhuman. Whatever he was one thing was clear. Be it Music, Martial Arts, Science, whatever he does he excels. He was a whimsical man. A great man. A man who craving for knowledge and excitement knows no bounds, whose collection of books and personal library would even make Alexander the Great green with envy. He donated to all manners of charities and funded many projects for helping the poor and disabled. A self made man who single handedly founded one of the largest corporations in the world, Wen Qu Technologies, whose influences reach from vast fields of expertise. From objects of war such as the newest aircrafts, droids, and body armor; to life saving medicine and vaccines; to even the mundane such as video games and the fast food industry. A legendary example of determination and hard work. He was in his car being driven to a business meeting to disclose a deal that would help ensure the country could have access to clean energy and help reduce the pollution that has been plaguing his homeland for the past millenia when he was assassinated and woke up in a strange new world. How will Qing Shan deal with his new environment where the strong suppresses the weak? From the top of the world he suddenly finds himself free falling to rock bottom. Unable to cultivate, a weak body, and all but disowned by his family. (For those who read comics and watch cartoons, imagine him as being Tony Stark, Richard Reeds, Jimmy Neutron, etc level of 'Genius'. ) My own spin on some familar tropes. Another reincarnation into another world story. The MC will take over the body of someone with a trash body that can't cultivate and will be hated and neglected by his family. Pretty typical so far right? Except there won't be some amazing miracle to heal our MC, there isn't some magical grandpa to teach him some OP thing which only his trash body can use, there isn't a hidden op bloodline, and he is not from a super amazing assassin clan or genius doctor. He isn't the chosen one, he's just a guy trying his best to make something with a crap situation. First attempt at a wuxia type story! I like playing with common tropes, maybe adding a twist, to playing it straight as a classic. I have absolutely no idea where this is going to take me but please do give your input and I'll do my best so that everyone has a say in where our journey will go. I'll admit the only knowledge I have of chinese history and ancient society is from reading light novels translated to english and some old dramas, so if I make some social passe just take it as because this is another world, not exactly an AU where magic and stuff actually exist. I'm also not actually Chinese and will basically using google to help me with names and other such, if I make a mistake please let me know! (Even if you don't like the story or couldn't bare to get past chapter 1 please leave a comment so I can find out where to improve, thank you!)
