Last week, Wednesday was military training but from this day forward it will be “Esper Power Development”. On that subject, students will be trained individually because of the difference of their powers. Some of them trained in a more normal way like Aria who only tried floating heavier and heavier weights. Some trained in more painful ways like Lucian who sometimes needed to cut himself to test his power. In that kind of training also Emilie was useful because she could heal wounds more often.

For recruitment Center School used “Classic” power ranking. Scientist ranks espers from rank F to rank S. There is also Serpent Rank this is a rank beyond rank S and their power is too hard to measure. Since students from Center School will become soldiers their power will be ranked differently. Their ability will be judged by their usefulness in combat, support, and recon. Combat is ranked from level 1 to level 15, and support and recon are ranked from level 1 to level 10.

If someone is judged like that:

Combat- level 4 / Support- level 2 / Recon- level 7

Then his overall level would be level 17 because combat level is multiplied by two. First classes don't take tests for military rank since they still learn and develop their abilities.

“I will ask you a few questions about your power, hopefully, they will help me to better understand your ability and help you develop it but first let me ask you one thing.“ Said, professor Olsen.

“What is it?” Asked Osir.

“Do you know what an esper ability is?”

“It’s a special power. Right?”

“Not exactly. For normal people is like you say a special power but for espers, it’s like a sixth sense or just a muscle that others don’t have. It’s funny that in medieval ages people thought that they were magicians or witches.”

“Oh… I never thought about it that way.”

Professor picked up paper and pencil.

“So earlier I told you that esper power is like sixth sense or muscle. When you use your ability do you feel your muscles or do you just think about using it?”

“I only think about it. At least I don’t feel like I’m using any muscles.”

“Ok… Last week when you used your ability you pointed your hands at the clone. Does it mean you can only use your ability with your hands?”

“No, but with hands, I can be more accurate.”

“Can you change the temperature of more than one area?”

“Now, I can’t”

“Do you know what are the temperatures of things around you?”

“I think so”

“What is the temperature of this room?”

“It’s twenty...one.”

Olsen looked at the thermometer and said:

“Twenty three… you were close.”

“Darn it.“

“Ok, it looks like you will have only three different training sessions. One where you will change the temperature as fast as you can without using your hands. I think it’s obvious what it will help you with. The second will be training changing the temperature to the exact celsius you will be told. The third training will be trying to control at least two areas, and with that training, you can use your hands.”

Professor Olsen took Osir to a small empty room with a thermometer on the wall.

“Without using your hands, change the temperature. Try to only do it with a thermometer. If you feel weak, stop and drink some water. If you’ll need anything I’ll be in one of three other rooms.”

Professor Olsen was assigned to develop the power of Osir’s team. It was easy to point out what Aria and Lucas can do but it was hard with Emilie.

“So if I understand correctly, your power is able to recreate cells of the person you touch. Can you do it on yourself?” Asked professor

“Yes, I used my ability on me many times.”

“Well I have a few ideas for your ability but they are risky. For now, you can only heal Lucas but next week you’ll be healing clones as fast as you can.”
