Operation ROME is an operation controlled by the Center School. The objective of the operation is to gather all espers in Europe and recruit them to the Center Army. As a payment, Center School offers shelter for the esper’s family.

One of the recruits of the ROME was a young boy named Osir Jelinek, a former civilian of the Czech Republic. To get into Center School a person needs to be at least older than fourteen years and his/her esper abilities need to be rank D.

Osir is a temperature manipulator and D rank at that. He is able to lower or increase the temperature around him in a range of five meters. He is also able to change the temperature of one object without changing it around him.

He was recruited as a scout. In Center School students are separated into three roles.

Fighters- espers whose abilities gave an advantage in fights.

Supports- espers that use their abilities to protect or increase the capabilities of fellow soldiers.

Scouts- espers that can use their abilities to hide their presence or move freely in most environments.

26th of March 2056 Switzerland / Bern

First day as a student of Center School for Osir. Since he is fifteen he joined class 1 D. Classes in Center School are separated for every rank. There are only classes for C and D ranks. The only things that they are teched like in normal school are advanced physics and chemistry. There also is geography but they are only focusing on how to use the geography of certain areas as a military advantage.

In one week they have two days of “normal school” and four days of military and esper abilities training. They have lessons like hand-to-hand combat, blade combat, shooting practice, and abilities development.

Every class has assignment groups made of at least one fighter, one supporter, and one scout.

Stressed Osir was the only person that came to the class earlier. He thought that there might be some meeting that he doesn’t know about. Someone opened the door and entered. It was a girl with blond hair and a ponytail. She wore a blue uniform like every student. From all students, Osir looked different so she walked toward him with a smile.

“Hi! My name is Emilie. Emilie Forester and it looks like I’m your classmate!”

“Hi... I’m Osir Jelinek.”

“Jelinek? That’s a weird surname. Where are you from?” Said Emilie with excitement.

“From Czech Republic. And you?”

“I’m a former French. Why is your hair white?”

“Maybe it’s because of my ability.”

“HUH! What kind of power do you have? I’m able to create cells!”

“I' can control temperature.”

“Wow! So… what’s your role? Because it looks like you can be anything…”

“I got recruited as a scout because I can hide from the thermovision. And… let me guess. Your role is support?”

“YES!”

To the class walked another person. It was a tall boy with short dark hair and shaved sides. He had a black watch on his hand. He looked at them and also smiled.

“Hi. Looks like our class is slowly gathering.”

“Hi! My name is Emilie and this is Osir!” Said Emilie. Osir only raised his hand.

“Nice to meet you. My name is Lucas. You don’t mind if I sat here?” Asked Lucas as he pointed to a seat in front of Osir.

“Not at all.” Said Osir

“Then I sat right next to you.” Said Emilie.

After a while, more and more students came but not many of them were talkative. Also, the teacher came in without saying anything. He has short ginger hair and a goatee beard. He probably also works as a scientist because he wears a lab coat.

“Good morning kids! My name is professor Olsen and also your teacher for physics, chemistry, and geography. And also you don’t need to be shy. I'm also rank D esper. My power is named Wave Link and with that ability, I’ll be able to help you with most of the things.”

“Wave Link? What does it do?” Said the girl sitting in front.

“My ability can help you concentrate your mind and calm you down if you are stressed.”

Professor noticed a girl sitting in the back of the class. She didn’t even listen to him. Olsen didn’t tell them one thing. He also can read their mind or at least one thing that they are thinking right at that moment.

“She had one thing in her mind… pass the test and be a soldier just to keep her mother safe. It looks like she is smart so I’ll need to talk to their combat trainer.” Thought to himself professor.
