《Sanctuary Within Entropy》Chapter 9

Zenith had been taking his time to absorb the knowledge he had gained from reading books. Though there were limits to how quick he could read even with his advantages.
"-I still haven't found a solution for a new method of cultivation such a task isn't solved easily. So it is fine. I will keep storing that aether-"
Zenith rather than condensing the aether in his body into a soul core had found that he was somehow able to move the aether to his forehead and with a simple resonation with his soul channel it into the empty void within, where the aether would appear and remain still like a gas cloud.
This way of storing aether had advantages and disadvantages. Some benefits would always be filling his supply at a fair rate which would grow larger by each second rather then his body being filled to max capacity. he would then be able to use it as he pleased.
The negative for this was since his physical body was not in the most excellent shape his cultivation was non-existent and would be more akin to using raw power. His skills and techniques couldn't be used at all. If he faced an apex being, if Zenith wasn't the first to act, he could only pray that the individual seated within that stone temple would save him.
"Zenith do you want to go for a stroll?" Nelel had come into the library and spoken. She seemed happier than usual, knowing that Zenith could talk now she finally had another person to talk to other than her grandma. Although he was only four years of age, he was good with conversations.
Knowledge in this library was limited. He knew there was so much more that he could learn by exploring rather than in the books it was also nice to relax as this was a new life he had no current goals there was nothing wrong with this.
"Of course big sis lets go" He spoke as he began to stand up, although it hurt his body and legs he could still walk slowly yet in a wonky way. He wasn't all that useless. At the very least, he was able to use the aether to temper his internal functions such as his veins, blood and such. He had tried to fix his skin before without the bandages but found it would revert.
"-Such is life-" he figured. At the same time, walking over towards what appeared to be a wheelchair. However, it was made of wood and metal pieced together. Previously he hadn't expected this world to have this sort of thing, but surprisingly it was an invention from long ago.
Though it could be improved significantly, it at least alleviated the pain for him instead of having to walk. He took a seat on it and relaxed while looking at Nelel, who was packing some things.
"Big sis where is grandma?" he hadn't seen Jagartha all day and had just remembered to ask Nelel. He had guessed something must have happened for her to leave early in the morning.
Nelel held a small basket of some food that she covered with a cloth before moving behind the wheelchair and hanging the basket on one of the handles. She would then begin to push forward.

"Well..." Nelel seemed a little reluctant as she continued forward reaching the stairs to which several dark runes on the ground began to emit a soft grey glow. The stairs began to reform into a ramp that nelel pushed the wheelchair upwards, something jagartha had added.
Zenith had long understood that jagartha had some magical knowledge as well as seemed quite competent with runes; otherwise, how could several tribes rely on her, she had also attempted to look within his mind.
Zenith was just about to ask her something but suddenly looked up and the clear blue sky. he had noticed something that no ordinary individual would be able to pick up.
"Oh? a lucky one is born" He spoke, Nelel blinked as she heard Zenith say. "Lucky one? What do you mean?" she was confused. Not a moment later, the sky began to emit a dazzling array of lights from the east. Clouds began to gather from all directions and converge the location of the lights.
"Lights of Heavens greeting a son? That's also the direction of the village hmm. Oh, it makes sense now" Zenith contemplated before realising what might have happened. "Big sis is grandma gone to help someone give birth?"
Nelel who was fascinated by these array of lights had the sensation to kneel and pray, but Zenith's words had snapped her back to reality.
"Z..zenith well...its....your father's new wife."
Hearing her speak Zenith didn't seem all surprised by this. in fact what surprised him was how lucky his father seemed to be, a reincarnated expert and now another with this.
"Well, it has nothing to do with me. Big sis lets get going" He uttered to Nelel who still seemed dazzled by the lights then again girls loved beautiful things. The morning began to die down bit by bit until the sky returned to normal. "Oh...ok" she pouted as the scene vanished before pushing the wheelchair with Zenith sitting on it forward.
"Don't worry big sis one day I will show you more beautiful things than that" He spoke wanting her to feel less irritated. Nelel smiled warmly at him thinking it wouldn't be possible and he was hopeful, little did she know it would one day indeed come true.
Such was life as she didn't mind him speaking, she figured he was smart and unique, but his condition she had seen how her grandma struggled with curing it and didn't see any hope all they could do was make life easier for him.
"I look forward to it!" she laughed tenderly and reached over to rub his head. Zenith's eyes were staring ahead, he had felt affection from his father before, but it seemed that by being abandoned by him. This affection was dying out. He could understand the new marriage considering circumstances, but he no longer visited, which showed him wanting a fresh start.
"-I need to find someone to act as a right hand to me, someone strong but loyal to carry out tasks until I recover-" Zenith realised he couldn't rely on jagartha or nelel in the grand scale of things.
He needed to cover all bases, and by having someone powerful to trust and under his wing, he would feel safer. Having analysed all this because he understood what this event of his half-sibling being born meant.

Many powerful people who stood at the peak of this realm felt the laws of the realm change somewhat and resonate towards a specific direction, they all had enough knowledge to understand that someone blessed by the heavens had been born.
this sort of event was incredibly rare even in the other realms. "This child we must have them!" a shadowy figure seated within an ancient temple that had its interior flickering with white and green flames was speaking to several individuals sitting cross-legged in front of him.
he seemed dead set on taking this child in. "Master, please be assured we will go retrieve this child" one of the individuals at the front spoke. The shadowy figure's eyes opened, revealing a cruel look. "don't fail me." he said a single sentence to which the seated figures all vanished.
In another location far to the south, a mountain that seemed to pierce into the heavens stood strong. It had many unique buildings along its side as if it were the home of the gods. The architecture was unique mixing some greek architecture with European themes. No doubt such a marvellous feast for the eyes was home to those who suited such grandeur.
Within a temple at the highest point standing on a balcony gazing out over the clouds and buildings that pierced through them a beautiful lady wearing golden armour with fabric interweaved around that gave a heavenly white glow had her eyes closed.
Atop her head a unique adorned crown with what appeared to be a sun and a moon circling as if in orbit. Her face was flawless, truly like a goddess in heaven. And yet as she opened her eyes to reveal her glowing pupils that fit her black and white shoulder-length hair well, she seemed a little worried.
Behind her two individuals, one male and female stood waiting respectfully, both wearing golden armour that gave off a terrifying heavenly feel.
"The heavens have chosen a son. Such talent needs to be raised down the righteous path; otherwise, should the dark forces obtain him first, it will be a catalyst for terrifying events. she remained silent for a moment then continued. "Both of you will accompany me to find this child no doubt the other forces have already moved we need to be quick."
The two then spoke un unison before kneeling."Of course priestess." In fact, not just those two forces. Many other factions just as powerful had begun to move and make preparations there was no such thing as waiting because nurturing such an individual blessed by the heavens meant that in the future whoever's side he belonged to would become more powerful.
Back at Zenith and Nelel who were exploring one of the smooth gravel paths that were made around jagartha's a home by the tribe. They occasionally looked at the many trees and flowers around.
"Little brother do you know what those lights from before are?" Nelel figured that since Zenith didn't seem to show much interest in those lights, he would have an understanding, more so since she and jagartha found out he had read every book in the library.
"Those lights mean that someone special has been born and the laws of this realm are blessing them" after Zenith spoke with a casual tone Nelel was a bit thoughtful.
"Since grandma went to go help your fathers new wife give birth...I guess that means you have a new little brother or sister? are you happy?" Nelel looked excited.
Zenith reached over and plucked a nearby flower that resembled a daffodil, with his open eyes he could scrutinise it and discover a variant aether of the nature element around. In truth, he just liked to go out, being stuck in a room reading all the time would not be good.
"I don't know" He spoke truthfully he felt usual, not excited or disappointed it made no difference to him. Nelel was thinking a bit before she began to push Zenith around some more. "How amazing would it be. blessed by the heavens or even being able to cultivate..." Nelel seemed to sigh a little bummer quietly.
Zenith noticed her sadness and smiled to himself. "I can give you some pointers if you want big sis, it's nothing hard to cultivate. I think you can be strong." after Zenith had spoken, Nelel looked at him a little sceptically. The more she was around him, the more she didn't think he was like other four-year-olds maybe her teachings from jagartha, or maybe Zenith to her was unique, but he seemed to know a lot.
"Little brother Zenith you have made a lot of promises today. Let's see if later on, you can keep them hehe!" she gave a sweet laugh after hearing him make another promise to her.
Zenith relaxed and smiled a little as he was looking around this sort of life wasn't bad. "Hey big sis I'm a little cold can you please go get my robe from home?"
Nelel was a little surprised and nodded. "Oh, I'm sorry! I should have gotten it before we left. I'll get it now! will you be ok here to wait?" As she spoke, Zenith looked at her then nodded sweetly, Nelel then began to rush off.
Zenith knew it would take some time for her. Meanwhile, he suddenly turned to look in another direction, his eyes focusing. Although he looked incredibly week, his body and soul had adjusted a lot more. His soul in itself was even more potent than when he killed himself at his apex, using that sort of strength would kill him, but he could tap a little bit.
In the direction he glanced at several strong figures were converging to the same location, a distant flat piece of land not too far from the village as if they were meeting there to compete for fighting in the town would no doubt kill the child.
"well, it would be bad if these flys caused trouble and levelled this nice little mountain. I better go babysit for a while." as Zenith looked in that direction although his eyes showed no expression, one would feel an ominous feeling by gazing in them for too long.

The Due
Every sailor knows the tale of Davy Jones' Locker. That place drowned sailors are sent to, ever resting on sea's bed. Some tales recount of a ghostly ship, the Flying Dutchman. Many a story has spawned from these two tales. Countless retellings mixing in their own fictions. But all stories spawn with a kernel of truth to them, and the story of Davy Jones is no exception. Those who've met the legendary seaman and his ghostly ship might call him a ferryman, escorting the drowned to their respective afterlives. Others might call him a devil, meting punishment on those deserving. The true story is always slightly different. Davy Jones is a ferryman, but not one for the afterlife, as Walter finds out. No, Davy Jones manages those who die at sea while in debt, and Walter died with a lot of debt. Unable to pay, Davy puts Walter to work. The specter has just the job for the dead college graduate. Another god, Sod, needs an afterlife for his new world. Davy tasks Walter with the job. Suddenly, Walter finds himself having to run a fledgling underworld with little instruction from Sod. To top it off, the denizens of Sod's world have their own ambitions to achieve godhood, and they won't take kindly to Sod's newest employee shaking up the status quo. [Traumatizing Content tag is up just to let everyone know this will be a story that deals with different themes of death. Some of them won't be nice and so better to be safe than sorry.]
