《The End (LitRPG)》Prologue

Thousands of years ago I gained godhood. My home planet was overrun by other creatures. These creatures to us their planets were all destroyed by... something. We never figured out what it was, but we did find out that all of the creatures that came to our planet weren't friendly. They were actually its spawn. About 95% of the other races that came to my planet were its children. The other 5% were quickly killed off by them.
There were almost 200 billion of them and less than 50 billion of us. Although we were more sophisticated, they just overwhelmed us. In the span of fewer than 6 months, they killed off 26 billion. 26 billion lives lost to those monsters. On the opposite side, we had killed approximately 48 billion. Which is a lot, but there were just too many of them. So we had our best scientist make a machine. The machine changed life energy into an energy we could use. We named it magic.
The only downside to this is that the machine could only take the life force from us humans. So the machine wasn't used all that often. After another month they released a disease on us. This disease affected all of us. Well everybody but me. I still have no idea why I wasn't affected. The disease was 100% fatal. So the elders decided to transfer everybody's life energy to me.
This was quite painful. Getting 24 billion lives put inside you is a feeling I can't even begin to explain. The procedure takes hours or in this case, days to complete. I passed out almost instantly. When I woke up, my entire race was gone. This is when I obtained my godhood. It still wasn't enough power to destroy them, sure I killed them by the millions, but after about 275 million I had used up 56% of my power, and it turns out that it doesn't recharge fast. So I decided to use up the rest of my power to go to a far away planet.

I used a very high-level teleportation spell on myself. I ended up on a red, barren planet millions of lightyears away. This, of course, would later be known as Mars. I quickly cast a breathing bubble spell on myself so I could breathe. The solar system I landed in wasn't even supposed to be there. On every intergalactic map I'd ever seen, this area was supposed to be starless. I was going to make my own star system here.
The closest planet to the one I landed on was a bright blue one, it was quite a bit smaller than my homeworld, probably less than 10% of the size. It looked like it had water on it to me, so I did a small range teleportation to it. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there wasn't just water, it also had plant and animal life.
At that time, you, my children were only simple primates. You barely used tools. I took a liking to these primates and gave them low-level sapience. After thousands and thousands of years, you started to lose most of your hair. You also started forming a sort of written language. You also started calling yourselves human, even though we look nothing alike. I don't know exactly why, but it was probably because of my magic that gave you sapience. Thousands of years after that we are now in the age of technology. This technology is crude, well, crude by my standards, but it has advanced society tremendously, but I can feel them. They are getting closer. By my estimates, they will be here in 19 years.
I had to do something. So I altered the genetic makeup of all unborn children. I made a spell that can transfer magic, sort of like the machine that gave me my godhood. I then gave all the unborn children what you all call superpowers. These superpowers are going to help you defeat my enemy. I am sorry for forcing this on you, even though you won't ever hear this. This is just my confession. My confession that I brought this upon you. I am really sorry. Even though there are only 7 billion of you, maybe because a good portion of you are enhanced you will be able to defeat them.

Hopefully, what I use the rest of my power on will help the rest of you. I am going to make this world into something most of you know. I am going to make it into an RPG-like world. Even though people born before now won't be given superpowers, they will be able to enhance themselves still. I am also going to sacrifice 99.99% of myself to make it where they can only get in, in small droves. Even though the "small droves" will probably be by the million.
I'm fading in and out of consciousness, I guess That's what happens when you use up all but .01% of your power. I guess I need to tell them something.
HEAR ME MORTALS. I AM YOUR GOD. MY REAL NAME ISN'T IMPORTANT, BUT YOU MAY CALL ME JAY. HEED MY WARNING! THE APOCALYPSE IS COMING! FRET NOT FOR I WILL GIVE YOU THE CHANCE TO SURVIVE IT! ANY CHILDREN BORN AFTER THIS MESSAGE WILL HAVE A VERY HIGH CHANCE TO BE BORN WITH SUPERPOWERS. IN 19 YEARS IT WILL START. DO NOT DESPAIR THE WORLD WILL CHANGE INTO AN RPG-LIKE WORLD WHICH MEANS ALL OF YOU ALIVE TO HERE THIS NOW, WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO ENHANCE YOURSELF.
Survive my children. Please. Survive.

A Wish Beyond Chaos
Knights cultivate Laws to transcend mortality. They live for centuries, leading all of humanity while ceaselessly searching for the ultimate path. Mages study Runes to control creation itself. Their lives are short, but burn with unmatched radiance, leaving marks that may never fade. Roland Crescent consumes food to continue existing. Five years ago, at the tender age of nine, Roland suddenly stopped dreaming and instead started seeing the imminent deaths of those around him in nightly visions. Believing himself destined for greatness, he set out to become a righteous hero of justice. But as the years passed this young wannabe savior found that his duties brought him almost no discernible benefits, whereas new burdens kept piling onto his small shoulders without end. When a longtime plan’s failure ends up opening the path to several twisted opportunities, Roland might have to finally admit to himself that nobody of importance, much less fate itself, had any regards for his heroic inclinations. Slow paced, character focused story. Gets very dark at times. Basically like Lord of the Mysteries with more comedic aspects at the start. Chapters are released Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. Average chapter length is about 4000 words, with only the first vision being noticeably shorter. Have fun reading.

Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
