《The Inhabitants》Chapter 7. Mining

Back to a few days ago. Lando arrives at an abandoned mine. After some miners died mysteriously, locals did not dare to enter this mine.
The plan was, Lando find some abandoned mining tools and then sell them after arriving in the next town. After all he didn't have any money right now, all of his possessions burned down with the orphanage pavilion. In the next town, Lando intends to establish a connection with the resistant group and acquire firearms if he can. Lando knew this because Helena and Marlina had said that the neighboring city was not safe. Maybe there is still an active resistance group.
Actually, the idea of making a fortune in this abandoned mine wasn't just Lando's, there were several who had done it before. Some of them died on the spot, and the rest were seriously ill. Finally, people think this mine is haunted. With the abilities he has now, even if he's infected some diseases, Lando believes he can recover quickly.
Lando went into the mine, but he didn't find anything strange. He picked up some mining tools which looked pretty good.
After some time inside, Lando felt his chest hurt a little. Lando was able to control his body perfectly, so he was able to check what was going on. He found that his lungs were injured and slowly getting worse. Luckily, Lando was able to heal quickly so nothing major happened.
Lando realizes that there is poison gas in the mine. This gas is odorless and shows no other signs. Lando was incapable of realizing without experiencing it himself. He assumed it was this gas that killed the previous people.
After Lando walked around the mine area, he found his lung was badly injured in the deepest part of the mine. There, Lando found a suspicious small gap. Lando touched it and felt a little warm. Curious, Lando dug the gap using pickaxe he had found earlier.

After opening wide enough, a layer of soil with a different color from the outside appears. The soil layer is black in color and has a coarser texture. Lando continued to dig until he felt the temperature of the ground rise and his lungs hurt even more. Lando took a step back and let his lungs get better. Lando didn't know the limits of his healing abilities and he didn't want to test it either.
Lando took a long stick he found outside and used it to understand the contents of the gap. There were a few boulder inside, but the boulder was a little strange. When it collides with the stick, the sound it makes is a little louder which means that the boulder is not as hard as an ordinary rock. Lando prying some to take out.
In front of the mine, Lando placed several black stones averaging the size of a fist and having a lighter weight than ordinary stones of same size. Curious, Lando took an ordinary rock outside the quarry and hit the black rock to determine its hardness. As a result, the black rock shattered like charcoal.
"Maybe.. maybe this.." Lando had heard of this kind of rock from Merlina. This rock is called dark gold or coal which is used as fuel for trains. 'But, even though it's dangerous why was this mine abandoned?' Lando asked himself. This kind of mine should have its own value.
Lando shook off the question in his head. After all, even if he knew the answer, it wouldn't be of much use to him. Lando took out some more black rocks and lit them with fire. After a while, the black rock started to burn. Lando is feeling very happy. Maybe if he dug up enough, he could get some Golda if sold.

An idea crossed Lando's mind. 'Maybe this rock can be used'. Lando rethought his previous plan. He refuses to go to the next town and intends to take revenge as soon as possible.
Lando went back into the mine, he tried a lot of things using the coal. Finally a few days passed.
Lando pulled out quite a lot of coal from the mine which he wrapped in his old bandages. The old bandage was prepared to cover the sharp part of mining tools he found, but now he used it for something else.
Lando stuffed a fair amount of coal wrapped in bandages into the sack. Then he walked towards the bamboo forest and cut down some. Lando cut it with a length of about 20 to 30 cm according to the intersection of the internodes, so that only had one hole. Lando tied pieces of bamboo together and carried them on his shoulders. After that, he walked towards the Wilburg residence. His expression turned serious.
