Chapter 2
A New Beginning
I had been asleep for 4 months and had been ever since I fell into a coma suddenly one day. After that day I had been visited by various priests who used magic to check my condition but found nothing wrong. So they decided to wait and check regularly on my condition to find a solution.
But I didn’t mind my condition seeing as even though I was asleep for 4 months I still had a healthy body and this was due to the traits I had. Most people had 1 trait however Leon had 2 traits, to begin with along with 5 talents which normally people only had 2. Leon’s 2 traits were Dominance and Dauntless and his 5 talents are Mastermind Intelligence, Magic Mastery, Weapon Mastery, Multilingualism, and Luck.
I honestly wondered about the talents I had and how they worked along with how to utilize them efficiently. I wondered and wanted to test out to what extent these traits and talents were able to accomplish so I asked my parents if I could go to the study(Library) tomorrow.
To my request, they said I was allowed to but only as long as I was feeling better and healthy, they also requested that I eat breakfast first before my visit to the study.
After a few moments they told me to rest and shortly after they left, but the maid stayed behind to monitor my condition. While I was asleep many memories from Leon came to me and I had seen everything he had done and been through until the point I became Leon. Leon was spoiled but was always calm and never flaunted his status. Leon had a vastly more mature aura than many children his age.
I was also to learn that Leon's father Rodger Ashton was called the sword of the Ethirine Kingdom as he was someone who held great military prowess compared to other royalty. He was known as the sword of the Ethirine Kingdom as Leon’s father was a magic swordsman who held great battle prowess and had won countless wars against other kingdoms granting him many authorities within the Ethirine Kingdom.
Leon’s mother Selina was the daughter of a count but her family has long since lost its influence and lost its power in the past and now is gone except for mother. Nevertheless, I gained very useful information I can use later on should I ever need it. My only goal in this life is to gain strength and live a peaceful life while being able to live freely.

The morning came which had awoken me and the maid whose name was Samatha I learned from Leon’s memories was selected to be my maid. She was always kind and cared greatly for my safety every day ever since I fell into a coma one day and so I knew I was able to trust her completely. She asked if I wanted to change and I got out of bed prompting her to change my clothes for me.
Although I was initially embarrassed at first I knew I had to get used to this as if I didn’t it would only burden Samatha.
She quickly changed my clothes and after that, I headed towards the dining room for breakfast. Upon entering the room I arrived at the scene of a very large room but in the middle of the room, there was a long table with 16 chairs in total with 7 chairs on the sides and 1 chair each at each end. At the very end opposite me, was my father to the left of him was my mother.
I sat on the right side of my father and waited to be served my breakfast by the chefs. After I was given my breakfast my father asked me how I was feeling this morning and to his question, I answered that I was good and couldn't wait to go to the library. To my response, I saw that his facial expression changed and instinctively knew his interest had been piqued as normally Leon only went into the study when he wanted to read various random books.
Father asked me why I wanted to go to the library. I said that I wanted to learn about magic but that I also wanted to learn about the world which further made him interested as this was the first instance where Leon has ever taken interest in magic and history
I had a sneaking suspicion my father would monitor my actions from here on out to observe my actions. After I had finished I began heading to the library but before I left the dining room mother said to have snacks with her later in the evening and I nodded my head thus after my reply I saw a wide joyful smile on her face before I left.
When I arrived at the library I saw that the room was very large and grand. There were many shelves lined with various books with different covers and designs on their spines.

I looked around the library in search of a magic book to read about. Upon looking around I stumbled upon a book that was hidden behind a stack of books.
On the cover was a silver moon and upon opening it I felt a sense of comfort from opening it. I read the first page which had stances of swordsmanship but also there was a kind of magic involved within the stances.
I was very intrigued by what I was reading and fully invested myself in it until I barely realized that night was creeping up on the time. After putting the book down I quickly saw that Samatha had followed me and I told her that I wanted to go outside to test something. After heading outside and arriving at a large training area, I tried to do exactly what the book showed with the sword stance. Upon doing so when I unleashed the technique, a Moon crescent slice was created which then cut through the line of dummies.
Samatha was astonished at what I had just done and asked for my permission to get my father. I replied with a nod and then she left quickly heading towards father’s office room. After trying out the first technique I tried the other moves as well, then I used a move which created a ring of moon crescent slices that flew towards the target, when I did so the slice broke off into smaller slices and completely destroyed the training wall.
My father had now arrived and looked at the damage caused by me and he simply chuckled. My father then stared at me for a short while before telling me to use the same technique against him. I looked at him perplexed but then decided to do as I was told and unleashed the same move upon my father. After I did, the slash hit my father he had blocked it but he was blown quite a bit away from his original position. My father was astounded by what I had done and before I knew it he quickly made his way to me and appeared before me in the blink of an eye.
He patted my shoulder and told me to never tell anyone of what I had done as it would stir up trouble with many people and nobles. He then told me to continue learning the magic and sword style that I was learning. I had assumed that this was due to Weapon and magic mastery which greatly helped me grasp any form of magic and weapon upon picking them up and trying them.
My father then asked me how I came upon this magic and sword style and I replied that I had learned it from a book I found in the library. He looked at me puzzled but then chuckled saying that “ Leon you are indeed going to be a monster in the near future, I can't wait to see you become a monster like your old dad!”
After that, he left and said not to worry about the training ground as the training area would be fixed tomorrow so that the guards and soldiers were able to train. As I was putting the sword back on the rack I noticed that the sword had shattered after its use and the blade shattered into small bits and pieces. I understood that the sword was unable to withstand the technique and magic so it inevitably broke.
Samantha looked at me with dazzling eyes which made me kinda scared but nevertheless, I then told her that I wanted to head to bed. She nodded and replied “Alright Master Leon''
So we headed back to my room, Samatha then bathed me and helped dry my body. I was feeling very pumped that I had accomplished something I thought would be hard to do. I was pleased that I was able to comprehend things very quickly and memorize things thanks to the help of my talents. After being dried off I said goodnight to Samatha who also went to sleep after tucking me in. I quickly dozed off into deep slumber due to exhaustion

Once that is done, they will have unfettered access to the entire Empire. Instantaneous travel and trade across hundreds of stars. Torus Terminal does boast one other oddity: a creature which calls itself Human. As he says, the last of his kind for now. He has made quite the life for himself on Torus Terminal, especially in the darker corners of the station. The elites of Torus Terminal praise his name, for once he took up arms, crime began to fall. What they did not realize was that was because he had claimed the seedy underbelly of Torus Terminal for himself and his own goals. The elites praise him as a paragon of law. The criminals fear him as a ruthlessly clever crime boss. Those closest to him, know him as the General. This story was originally posted on the Humanity Fuck Yeah subreddit, where it evolved from a simple play on a historical figure in a science fiction setting into a full blown space opera. I kind of took it as an opportunity to explore a setting I've had rolling around in my head for years. I also decided that it would be nice to have it in a place where I could more easily come back and edit it later, so I'm reposting it here. Here's a link to the original posting if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/e9cwpl/post_war_rules/ If my genre and tagging is subpar, let me know. I'm still new to Royal Road and I'm open to help. Feel free to comment and make suggestions, or discuss. I love comments, and so long as we keep things civil I also love criticism.
