《Chapter 11》First Time Cooking in Another World
The very next day, with the sun gradually rising up in the distance, as sunshine then peaks on over towards the horizon, whilst illuminating the gradually disappearing dark world.
And some rays of sunlight has managed to make its way through the large gap of the opened window and landed upon my sleeping figure.
Not so long afterwards, I began to slowly wake up from my slumbering state.
I then felt completely refreshed and energised, having fully recovered all of my magical power overnight.
And that is currently what is making me feel somewhat energetic.
However, my stomach now feels completely empty, having digested all of the food that I've eaten last night into nutrients and sustenance, in order to sustain the growth of my infant rock demon body.
'It would seem that it is possible for the members of the Rock Demon race to eat and digest solid food,' I concluded and then thought, 'But why do they only eat rock minerals and ores, and not meat, as their main diet.'
After a little deliberation with myself, I then came up with an appropriate answer.
I thought along those lines of, 'Meat has a much shorter expiring date and doesn't last long, considering the lack of technology and preservation methods within this world.'
'And monster meat takes a lot of effort and time in order to hunt the creature down, and subjugate it for their meat.' I thought.
'Whilst, on the other hand, rock minerals and ores can easily be excavated from the mines, and the 'food' will never rot or go to waste.' I came to a reasonable conclusion, after much deliberation.

I then took out the cooked piece of meat from the deceased {Lava Plume Fire Salamander}, out from my Interspatial inventory space.
I was thinking about eating it until a thought suddenly crossed my mind. 'Father, properly hasn't eaten yet. He is properly starving right now, and I really should not be selfish about sharing food.'
'Even though I'm not the one that directly killed it, it is still part of my abilities...' I thought to myself.
'My golems.'
I then put the piece of cooked {Lava Plume Fire Salamander}'s meat to the side, right next to the sleeping figure of my father.
So that when he wakes up, he would then immediately noticed the piece of meat and the breakfast that I've prepared for him.
'With that said and done, it's now time to prepare for my meal. I'm starving.' I thought so to myself.
Pulling the corpse of one of the deceased {Fire Imp}'s out of my interspatial inventory space. It then lay soundlessly dead before me.

I then picked up one of its arms and held it raised upwards.
I communicated to Grimsly through the mental link that shared between us, 'If you don't mind Grimsly, but I want you to sever the arm of the {Fire Imp} that is connecting it to its joints.'
I instructed Grimsly on what to do, and he easily adhered to my orders.
Grimsly, he then opens his canine jaws wide and wrapped it around the shoulder point of the {Fire Imp}'s corpse, where the arm is connected to the rest of its main body.
Following my precise instructions, Grimsly began to apply more pressure, whilst biting on the shoulder points of the {Fire Imp}'s corpse.
You could quietly hear the sounds of the deceased {Fire Imp}'s bone crackling, the shards of bones breaking as we speak. Similar to stepping on a twig, or snapping a piece of stick.
Grimsly's teeth steadily grinding on the shoulder joints of the deceased {Fire Imp}s, until it could no longer handle the pressure, and completely snaps apart.
Grimsly then rips apart the left arm of the {Fire Imp}, with his powerful canine mouth.
And blood then rapidly spluttered out from the opened wound, but Grimsly quickly closes it, by burning the open flesh wound with his innate [Fire Breathe].
The {Fire Imp}'s flesh and skin is singed by Grimsly's hot [Fire Breathe], thereby closing up the wound, and drying off some of the blood.
'I really should have drained the {Fire Imp}'s blood out first, before I start butchering up the meat.' I thought so to myself and then ignored it. 'Well, never mind then...'
Seeing the sight of blood on the ground disgust me, but not to the point of it being too horrible that I can't withstand.
'It's just that I don't really like realistically gruesome stuff, but now that I'm older, I can be slightly more tolerable towards those kinds of gruesome things...' I thought so to myself.
'Grimsly!' I called out, and Grimsly immediately follows.
The message was easily conveyed through, without me even have to ask, as Grimsly then started a fire with his [Fire Breathe] skill.
Grimsly steadily kept his [Fire Breathe] at a low enough temperature as not to burn the meat.
As I steadily cooked the {Fire Imp}'s severed left arm over the open fire, which is Grimsly's [Fire Breathe], slowly barbecuing the meat.
The skin is a bit burnt, and singed by the red hot flame, being the most closest to Grimsly's [Fire Breathe].
However, the meat is neatly cooked, though there is no herb or spice to enhance the flavour. The {Fire Imp}'s meat should taste as fine, like cooked chicken.
Once the meat is fully cooked through, I then heard a sound ringing in my ear, and a blue notification screen panel then appears in front of me.

System Notice Skill proficiency has reached a designated degree! The skill [Basic Cooking Lv.1] has been acquired!
'Well, neat! I've obtained a new skill!' I thought so to myself, as I started eating the cooked severed left arm of the deceased {Fire Imp}.
Then a thought instinctively crossed my head, 'This cooked {Fire Imp} meat really tasted like chicken, the texture is really similar, though the taste is a bit bland and iron-y...'
'Must be because of the blood that is trapped withinside the meat, whilst it was being cooked' I thought so.
The smell of the freshly cooked meat, the severed left arm of the deceased {Fire Imp}, then aroused my sleeping father from his slumber.
He then woke up, with an empty stomach growling, as his groggily tired eyes then slowly opened.
'What is that smell? It is making hungry...' Father thought so to himself before his brain is fully operational, and therefore he is conscious of his actions.
The moment that he saw me started eating, gnawing down the cooked severed arm of the deceased {Fire Imp}.
His eyes then open wide, as he unconsciously screamed at me. "Son, what in the hell are you eating!"
I then lightly pointed at the deceased {Fire Imp} corpse that lay beside me.
Whilst nonchalantly continued eating the piece of cooked meat, like it's not even my problem at all.
'Isn't that a deceased corpse of a {Fire Imp} demon race?' Father then thought so to himself, with an anxious look.
'Usually, {Fire Imp}s would often travel in pacts, of a group of 10, 20, or more.' Father thought, whilst contemplating something.
'And just in case of emergency, they would have a secondary pact or third group that would follow right behind them, whilst maintaining a fair distance of communication.' He thought to himself.
Father thought, 'So how did he managed to kill it? Did some straggling {Fire Imp}s managed to wander within the borders of our tribe's territory?'
Having somewhat guessed what my father was going to say, so I then pointed in the direction of my two ash golems, Grimsly and Crowley.
However, withinside of my interspatial inventory space, I can sense the sense of dissatisfaction emanating from Silva and the rest of my apparent golems.
'Do not worry, you guys. I'm not discrediting your efforts and recognition of the contribution you've made in the hunt. It's just that I wanted to keep you guys stay hidden and a secret for now.' I communicated my intentions towards all my golems through the mental link.
'It's not time for me to show the world of my true abilities just as of yet. There will come a time when I will have to tell father the truth, but that time is not now.' I thought to myself, whilst making a strong resolve, to keep my abilities hidden from the world.
Grimsly and Crowley then understood my immediate intentions, as they somewhat agree with my point of view.
The two showcased their sense of approval by nodding their heads slightly in my direction, whilst maintaining eye contact with me.
'So it's those two that managed to successfully kill the straggling {Fire Imp}, huh.' Father thought.
'Considering how there is only one {Fire Imp} corpse, within the facility. I suspect that the lone {Fire Imp} must have wandered off from the group, or was thereby abandoned.' He then continues.
'And by luck, one of Arslid's guardian beast must definitely have killed it, as there are bite marks and slashed marks that could only be by a beast or something along those lines.'
Father already assumed the outcome, whether it is good or bad, he didn’t pursue the matter any further.
It took him some time, but he finally notices the big chunk of cook {Lava Plume Fire Salamander} meat that was laid out before him, on the dirt ground, beside his stone bed.
There was really no clean place to place the cooked meat, as everything is covered in dirt, or is either made from the earth itself.
We don't even have the luxury to possess any house furniture, besides the flat stone table, which is being used as a makeshift bed and numerous other flat stone rocks.
"Is that for me? Did you prepared a meal for me, son?" Father then asked me, as he pointed towards himself then the piece of cooked meat.
I then nodded, and my father immediately began to get teary eyed, as he started eating his food.
'It's been so long since I've last eaten meat.' He thought so to myself, as he took one bite after another, whilst relishing the taste of eating meat.
Afterwards, after father has finished eating his meal, he then immediately took off and went straight to working in the mines.
"I see you later, son! Please take care of yourself, whilst I'm away." Father said so excitedly towards me, as he then left the room that we are in.
As he left the mud hut, that was our home, a thought suddenly crossed his mind.
'Was that {Lava Plume Fire Salamander} meat? I ate too fast and didn't bother to read the notification screen.' He thought so with a cold discerning look.
The {Lava Plume Fire Salamander} is well known as one of the more dangerous fire-type monsters that inhabit the areas of the barren forest lands.
It lacks much in physical capabilities; low defensive stats and attack power, but its ability to spew hot flowing lava, and the lava bubbles that surrounded its entire body, thereby made it a force to be reckoned with.
