《I Can Respawn In The Apocalypse》Chapter 58: Steel Armor

I never knew until today that the process of committing suicide is such a tiring process.
I don't mean it literally for every time I die all my fatigue gets refreshed.
But the process of killing yourself over and over again really gets boring...
But suddenly after I finished killing myself my dungeon core told me to stop.
"What?"
[I'm not receiving any more points.]
"???"
I look at the Dungeon screen and a new notification pops up.
>
>
"... to think he would name me out..."
But it's already too late. Before he made the announcement I've already expanded the dungeon to cover the whole of Manhattans Underground subway station...
I also still have 158,742,962 DP remaining even after I have finished covering the Manhattan Subway station.
Meaning I already have New York under my control.
I can already imagine the look on GODs face when he realizes.
It took him long enough to fix the BUG, which is what I would like to say but it's already been like 2 hours since he struck me with the lightning meaning he most likely needs 2 hours to implement a system announcement.
2 hours = Needed time to send a new World Law.
This is a good thing to know for by knowing this I can figure out the amount of time I can misuse a BUG.
If I was to find any more BUGs then I'll know how to cheat the system most efficiently later on.
A smile creeps on my face at the thought of finding a new BUG.
[Why are you making such a stupid face for?]
After hearing what my dungeon said I recompose myself and turn on my serious mode.
I look at the Dungeon Panel and started looking through the things I could do to make this dungeon work more efficiently. I enter into the DP menu in search of something useful.

I don't need to expand the Labyrinth for now for the size of it should be pretty decent. I don't need any more subordinates for now as the Dungeon isn't really going to be guarded by Monsters which the dungeon summons but instead by Humans.
I then look at the last 2 options.
-Food
-Equipment
-Skill Scrolls
-Enchantment Gems
-Treasure Chest
Trade something in from the outside world in place of DP.
I first look at my dungeon from the Master screen and see that it is filled with Zombies... There is also. There are also crashed trains and some hundred or so people hidden within the subway before my dungeon took over the whole place.
Let's clean up the dungeon for now.
Technically all the things inside of the Dungeon are mine except for beings that have a will of there own such as the living and the undead.
So I can technically take any inanimate object within my dungeon and have it exchanged for DP.
I first collect all the Zombies whom I killed on my way here and exchanged all their bodies for an ok Amount of DP.
Let's test out the exchange system a bit.
I look at the floor of the dungeon which is extremely dirty. It is covered in blood and
some zombies were standing on and it was covered in blood.
Let's test out Exchange to just absorb all the blood from the dungeon.
Suddenly all the blood on the dungeon floor evaporates. Not a single drop on the floor or walls of the dungeon remains.
So it can't absorb the blood from the inside of a creature. The only blood it absorbs is that which is touching the dungeon floor.
Hm...
This is useful info to know...
Can I sort out what I want to absorb?

I look at the Dungeon interior and look at the subway tracks. On one of the subway tracks, there is a subway that has stopped. The doors are closed and there are Zombies trapped within it.
Can I absorb the Zombies as well if I was to absorb the Subway?
Let's try.
[Absorb: Subway]
The subway suddenly disappears from existence and in place, all the Zombies which were once trapped inside of it fell out onto the tracks of the subway.
Figured as much. I was able to absorb all the things on the subway except for the things on the body of the Zombies and the Zombies itself.
This will be very useful, If I was to make a bunch of Punji Sticks and leave them underneath the dungeon floor then I could suddenly just take away the floor and make my opponents fall to there deaths.
I then look at the cost of Punji sticks.
100 DP per Punji stick...
That's expensive. I could make a whole room with 2000 DP meaning 20 sticks are worth a single room... That's way too expensive.
To think each stick would cost 100 DP. I then look at the DP catalog for all the other items which are sold in the DP store. Food in the system costs even more. A single bag of rice costs 2000 DP.
This is crazy. All the items which the DP Store sells are too overpriced.
I believe I know why other dungeons didn't make lots of traps...
I scroll through the Equipment section and there was something that caught my eye.
Steel Armor (Tier 1)
Able to block Physical Tier 1 Attacks.
Special: Energy Field
Duration: 10 seconds /Cooldown: 1 Hour /Mana 10 Mana Per second.
DP 2,000
Well, it's still pretty expensive, for a Tier 1 equipment. After a couple of months, humans will be able to trade with otherworlders and the equipment sold there is only at the price of 1 Evolution Core for a Suit of this Tier. But in the first month of the Apocalypse, this piece of equipment will be the best Defense.
I have 158,750,002DP but even so, it's not going to be worth it to buy too many of these. For after 1 month a majority of the Zombies will become Tier 1 rendering the Defense that this armor can give less effective. But it is still better to buy a couple of these to equip my men up.

Rimward Bound
Every citizen of the sky-cities of His Majesty's Star-Empire knows that a ship, both sky- and star-, is more then just a few bits of metal. It is the grand sum of it's hull and the crew that sail it. 'Hulls of battle-steel and men to match!' That's what the Navy's recruitment poster's claim at least. Every sailor knows that there is one more component that the city-bound folk ignore at their own peril: the soul of the ship. That it takes both man and hull to make a true ship, and that neither alone serve well or for long. In 8225 Lord Jeffrye Saltonstall the Fourth, Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps, demands semi-automated ships to 'reduce the loss of life among our brave crews', manages to convince the other politicians and bureaucrats to fund them, and gets the Office of Ship Construction to sign off on the ships as structurally sound. Dockyard workers shake their heads at the ships, muttering that they are cursed from birth, even as construction drags on. In 8230 the Explorer, first of her class, is launched. She sets out in 8233 to great fanfare on a trip expected to last six months. Neither she nor her twelve-person crew is ever heard from again. By 8235, the remaining seven Explorers are are commissioned. Lord Saltonstall managed to find crews for six of them but at the cost of mass resignations. The Night Horse, last of the Explorer class, sat in reserve as her sister-ships served well enough despite ill luck and misfortune. The Office of Ship Construction quietly issues notice that no more semi-automated ships are to be built and that all active Semi-automated ships are to be quietly retired and broken up for scrap over the next ten years. The Night Horse, sitting in reserve, is missed due to bureaucratic oversight. In 8250 Lord Ayland Wynstryngham the Eighth assumes the office of Political Lord of the Surveyor's Corps. His first act is to issue notice that no ship is to be without crew nor sit in dock or reserve for longer then required for maintenance and upkeep. The Night Horse, all but forgotten, is quietly brought back into active service. Recruiting a crew for her proves another matter entirely. What poor or desperate fool would willingly sign on to crew, much less command, a cursed ship and spend months or years in deep space? Well, you would, of course. Where else is a kid from the gutters going to find that kind of freedom in the service of His Majesty? A [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] 2021.
