There was an endless desert of golden sand, with the sun mercilessly using all its might to fry those below. This was deep into the Incendium and was home to many poisonous animals. Only the most peculiar life forms manage to live here, but there is a tribe of humans that manage to live in this barren land.

They don’t have any order and the strong rule. But there was one law no one was allowed to defy, and that is to never defile the sacred water. It was the only thing that keeps them alive and also the most precious treasure they have.

It resided in a cave, which was kept cool by ancient runes. There was a stream that led here, and it would easily quench the thirst of those who live here.

Although there were many caves and such, they were mostly infested by scorpionmen and arachnids, both were Chimeras. They could manage to get water in their own caves, and the 3 races had a truce between themselves, to never fight for water.

The humans lived outside, in white tents. It reflected the sunlight and their doors faced the North, receiving at least a little bit of the cold northern wind.

Without any chance to grow crops, the inhabitants would occasionally hunt for animals. Those included, but weren’t limited to: Giant Scorpions, Sand Spiders, Desert Crabs, Sand Dragons and finally, Giant Lizards. Although there were smaller species, they couldn’t possibly fill the bellies of humans, so they resorted to hunting the giant animals.

As for the scorpions and spiders, their chimeric counterparts didn’t mind as they looked at it by the logic of ‘the survival of the fittest’.

There was a boy particularly talented at the use of a sword. His style wasn’t the same as the others of the village, with martial arts no one knew how he learned, he easily defeated a Sand Dragon.

His name was Mehmet, a boy of 12 years of age. He had purple hair tied in a braid and wasn’t tall, or closer to short. His eyes were golden, revealing that he had some wolven genes in his body.

Mehmet was currently lying on his bed and peeking at a certain book, or specifically a note. This was his diary that included everything he learned since coming here. Being an organized person, he used to keep a diary which followed him to this world. It wasn’t written on paper, but some kind of brown leather which was from lizards and the ink was made by detoxinated scorpion poison.

He had learned that there was in fact magic, but his village didn’t have any knowledge of it. The people relied on weapons and strategy to best the predators of the land, a typical village. But there was something called ‘Worldly Energy’ which would amplify the user’s physical strength.

There were the weaknesses of creatures of the desert scrambled on one page, which was actually all in Korean. This made the ones who read his diary think that it was a record left by a great swordsman of the past. But in truth, it was just a mixture of some martial arts on earth.

Mehmet, or Kim Son Gook in his past life was a sword fanatic. He learned Haidong Gumdo, Kendo, Kenjutsu, Fencing and some other lesser known ones. After some roaming, Kim settled down on a martial school called Sanat Oldurme. It was based around how the Arabians and Turks fought in the medieval ages.

“Mehmet, your father is calling!” shouted a woman from the outside. The tents could only fit 1 person, so they lived separately. He opened the hanging wool door and was blinded by the sharp light of the sun. It was especially big because it was closer to this side of Terra, and everyone was tan-skinned, but not black here.

The inhabitants wore white clothes, most like Turks, but Mehmet was wearing a hoodie and trousers.

“Where is he?” asked Mehmet, looking at the woman that is his mother. She was average looking, and had green hair. Mehmet and she had no resemblance so he seemingly picked after his father.

“He’s waiting for you at the entrance.” said Ayse, his mother. They were never really close, mostly because women were deemed lower than men. Ayse was one of his father’s 7 wives and wasn’t that special either, she only got better treatment because she gave birth to Mehmet, a talented youth.

The entrance, as suggested by the name, was the entrance of the village. The village was surrounded by a cliff from both sides. There was the entrance at one side and the exit at the other side.

He saw a man wearing white Turkish clothes with a medium body size. It was his father. “Father, I’m here.” said Mehmet.

The man answered without turning around “It seems its time for you to leave.”

“Father, are you sending me away?” he asked with a cold voice.

“No, I’m disowning you. And that means-” said his father with a blank tone.

“I have to go, right? Fine, I’ll go!” shouted Mehmet as he went to pack his things, not noticing the tears on his father’s face. This was the hardest thing he had to face in his 50 years of life.

He then mumbled to himself “We are restricting your potential here.”

Mehmet had packed everything he needed in his backpack. It was mostly water, but there were 2 sets of spare clothes, some food, which he would easily get by hunting or fighting them off anyways. There was a frying pan, which had runes that would allow it to cook by using the heat from the sun.

Although there weren’t any mages, Rune Engravers were many, so most of the fighters had enchanted swords, including Mehmet. His twin swords were on his belt, and there were 2 knives strapped to his loose fitting pants, making it tight. Being the son of the mayor was advantageous, as he could easily get the best Rune Engravers enchant his sword.

As far as the eyes could see, there was sand. Anyone wouldn’t be able to tell north from south, but the Desert Dwellers had the ability to do so. This was thanks to their sense of cold perception. The northern winds were cold, and they could tell where it was coming from.

Two weeks passed without any mishaps, or rather, opportunities. His food was falling to the red zone, no matter how sparingly he ate. The desert would be raining him with monsters and such in normal cases, but this wasn’t the case this time.

“Help!!!” shouted a woman. Mehmet searched for the person with his eyes, and saw a cart in the far distance. There were a few people dressed in black, seemingly trying to rob the cart.

His hands were itching for a fight, and so were his swords. Seeing an opportunity, he rushed into the battle.

“Hmph, do you think that someone would conveniently come to your rescue? If you hand over your goods, I might let you become my wife” said the leader with a smirk on his face. He was the leader of the famous robber gang ‘Black Demons’, which had more than 100 bandits under its name.

“W-Why?” cried the girl.

Another man answered “You’re a woman, after all.”

The girl’s father said “Please let my daughter go, I’ll do anything.” It was a man of a late age, with a messy beard and brown hair, the same as his daughter.

“Kill him.” said the leader as 1 large man slashed towards the old man, but it didn’t him him.

A short purple haired youth was standing before him, holding his arm in one hand, and a blade in the other. There were strange marks engraved on it, and it was emitting a gentle blue light. The rune was simple, yet delicate.

The boy then rushed as the man’s head flew off. Then Mehmet charged at the others. A man with a hammer swung it down on him. He fell down onto the ground as the man savagely pounded on him.

However, after a minute of beating, the boy was still fine. No signs of broken bones or any shouts of pain. It was as if he died, but his body didn’t say so. Mehmet then suddenly launched up into the air. He had shielded his body with [Worldly Energy], which looked like a heat wave, meaning colorless and almost invisible. The hammer hit him and the shockwave attacked his insides, but there was nothing serious.

After the beating stopped, he had absorbed the energy used for shielding and empowered his body. That was how he jumped upwards so high.

“Back off, you guys can’t handle him.” said the leader as the others obeyed his command.

“Is it a duel?” playfully asked Mehmet.

“No, it’s a domination.” said the man as he launched at Mehmet, who was doing the same. Both of them clashed with swords and were in a deadlock. The shockwave from the clash sent up the sand around them.

The two retreated and looked at each other for a while. Normal eyes couldn’t see it, but they were actually fighting a battle with their [Worldly Energy]. If one looked at it closer, they would notice that 2 nigh-colorless snakes were fighting. One had a tint of blue and the other had a tint of yellow. Of course, the yellow one was Mehmet’s.

Mehmet and the men clashed yet again, but this time, they weren’t supported by energy, as it was fighting outside their bodies. Being young, Mehmet was being pushed back in the contest of power. The man then suddenly pulled back his sword and slashed at him.

But the battle was over, in Mehmet’s favor.

This was thanks to a quickdraw with his other sword, and it sliced clean through the robber’s unguarded body. Even if he was bested in strength, he would never lose in speed.

The robbers stared at him with mouths agape. “Scram!” shouted Mehmet and they did just that. But if they attacked him just now, he would probably lose. Mehmet had exerted too much energy and was on the brink of losing consciousness.

“Thank you for your help.” said the father of the girl as he kneeled on the ground.

“It’s fine, I was itching for a fight anyways.” said Mehmet as he supported the man up.

The girl was around the age of 14, older than Mehmet and taller by around 10 cm. The father was a little taller than the girl. They were both wearing white Turkish clothes and the man had a hat on.

There weren’t any bloodstains on his clothes, because the second sword had a burning effect and would burn the body, stopping the blood from leaking out. As for the first one, it became lighter when the runes were used, so he was too fast for the blood to hit him when he beheaded the first man.

Mehmet then started traveling in the cart with the father and daughter duo. It somehow worked like a car, so it didn’t need a horse or something to drag it. However, it used [Worldly Energy], so the man had almost none left when he encountered the burglars.

The daughter occasionally drove when his father was dry on energy and the travel continued like that.

Luckily, he met a few monsters on the road, which he hunted down.
