When Taliya heard Sam she rushed to the door quickly unlocking it. Swinging the door open she hurriedly grasped his shoulders shaking him. "What happened! what did you do to Nadine!"
Shocked by Taliya coming out with Tom, Sam managed to calm down slightly.
"Hurry lets go, follow me."Sprinting and squeezing through people they managed to reach the car. Hugo had the engine running and Leo was slamming the top of the car, "Hurry, hurry, quick, quick."
When Leo saw Talyia he stumbled over the back seat into the boot, making room in the back, almost gliding in the air Tom, Sam and Taliya finally got in, Hugo drove off before they could even close the door.
From the burst speed of the car everyone was thrown over bumping into one another, staggering back from the tail whip motion, the car managed to close the rear car door itself, Hugo pushed his foot down on the pedal, like he was balancing on one foot. He swiftly switched gears jolting everyone once again. Seeing the street lights constantly appear and reappear with the light beaming then fading away, Tom couldn't help but think about what happened. Glancing to his left he saw Taliya with her phone glued to her ear.
"She's not answering her phone," She said.
"No shit, I rang her phone straight away." Sam replied.
"tell me everything that happened in detail." She asked.
With a look towards Hugo, Sam nudged his head pointing at him."Ask that fat fuck he's the only one who saw what happened, then he fucken walked over to tell us. Walked."
Still focused on driving Hugo replied.
"I was on the deck outside of the lounge at the front."
Interjecting Sam mentioned. "Yeah, stuffing his face."
Waiting for Sam to shut up Hugo continued.
"She looked like she was looking for someone and ended up at the front of the house. There was a black Ute parked outside. A couple of guys came out and started talking to her, then one picked her up throwing her over his shoulder, 'caveman style,' then they drove off ."

Grabbing her phone Taliya started dialing a number. Seeing this Sam couldn't help but mention.
"Don't bother, her calls aren't going through."
"I'm not calling her, I'm calling the police." she replied.
Suddenly Deano turned around interrupting the conversation.
"Don't call the police, you guys don't even know the full story. She could of texted that dude to meetup or during their conversation she might of said something like I wanna ride your dick, which led him to grab her that way."
Hearing this Sam and Taliya both glared at Deano.
"She's not like that bro." flaring his nostrils Sam continued.
"Your fucked, only you would think something like that."
Finally getting through the phone Taliya started talking to the police operator. Knowing that the police were getting involved everyone started to calm down, with a feeling that it wasn't their problem anymore. Finally hanging up, Sam was the first to ask.
"How did you know what the guys looked like?"
After being confused then realizing that they came later during the party, Taliya replied.
"Well they tried to come to the party at around 7ish. But Casey's dad wouldn't let randoms in. I was with Nadine she said she didn't know them."
Sam, faced towards Deano after hearing her explanation. "Harpel Kings?"
Nodding Deano replied. "Yeah sounds like them, purple bandannas are their colors."
Hearing this Taliya couldn't help but mention that she should call back and mention those details to the police. But Deano managed to convince her explaining that she gave enough information, based on the color of the bandanna and the area, the police will figure that out right away.
Suddenly, from the back of the car everyone heard an excited voice ring out.
"The Harpel kings and Ruthless ones have been rivals for years."
Noticing a few glares at him, Leo forgot the situation they were in. Being really drunk, and having a clear view of everyone from the back, he couldn't help but think he was in a movie, leading him to be excited rather than upset. Realizing his actions he slumped hiding away. Pulling over the car, Hugo let out a sigh.

"I have no idea where to look anymore, I seen them head this way but they could of took any of the turns back there. We're almost out of petrol as well."
Surprisingly, when he looked ahead he couldn't believe what he saw at that instance. There it was, placed on the side of the road, with the street lights shining onto its pitch black coat. placed on all fours it was lowered almost touching the ground. Instantly taking off, it reached a speed becoming blurry.
Seeing Hugo's distracted gaze, Deano slapped his face gently.
" Hughie, we don't have the time to be looking at cat's. Think of a way to help out Sammy's girl."
Sitting still it became quiet, Tom felt like he couldn't be much help, even though this was for the girl he liked and one of his best friends. Knowing that the police were on the job helped relieve his worries but it didn't sound like they had much information to go off with.
How can I help, the black Ute went there at around 7. They would have to know someone at the party or heard about it from someone there to go that early. Plus the fact that they were still hanging around outside, maybe they were waiting for someone.
Clearing his throat Tom asked."Maybe we should head back to the party and ask if anyone knew those guys?"
Hearing this, everyone had a glint in their eyes realizing Tom's question.
Except Taliya."Nobody knows them, Casey asked if anyone knew the guys but nobody did, and they were just driving by until they saw a group of chicks and that's when they decided to try their luck and come in."
Letting out a long breath Tom looked outside the window, still thinking of a way to help out.
Where would I go if I kidnapped a chick who was intoxicated, definitely somewhere I would feel safe and comfortable. It's a group of people and everyone saw them at the party, they already flaunted who they were with their bandanas so I guess the chances of her getting murdered are low. However, I can't leave out the factor that they could be utter idiots. I can understand there motives, but I don't know them well enough. If only we knew someone who did, Ah, yes he might just be the right guy.
Garage, 43 Derry Road, Blackwood.
Dante was playing pool with a friend when he heard his phone ring again.
"Yo you gonna answer that, it's like the fifth call?" his friend asked.
"Nah, she's probably drunk or something." he replied
"Well turn it off or answer it, I'm losing my mojo."
Chuckling he went up to grab his phone, "Excuses, Excuses."
Picking up his phone he said under his breath. "Weird."
"What's weird?" his friend asked.
"Oh nothing it's just her sister calling."
Hearing this his friend gave him a skeptical smile. "Wow man, even the sister."
Shaking his head Dante replied. "Nah, she probably ran out of credit. Give me a moment I'll see what she wants."
"Sweet I need a refill anyway, you need a top up?" Seeing Dante shaking his head his friend continued heading into the kitchen.
After resolving himself to get yelled at, he answered his phone.
"What do you want?"
"Oh hey Taliya, whatsup?"
"Kidnapped, by who?"
"Are you sure it was them?"
"Yeah I know that Ute, Where are you guys now?"
"Yeah that's not far away I'll be there in 10."
Hanging up the phone his friend just entered the room. Seeing Dante's hostile expression his friend couldn't help but ask.
"What's wrong, did she do something?"
Grabbing a baseball bat Dante replied.
"Get the boys, those cadbury fuckers kidnapped Nadine."

NOVA INTERIT.US
It's 2063, and the town along with much of the nation are in disarray. The decay started years before the Great Event. Our town still had hope thanks to the five families, who'd created a blockchain based water distribution system for the locals, a valuable secret hidden from the Global Water Commission and their network of mercenaries. Earlier in the mid-2040's, right after the state secessions of Idaho, Montana, and Texas, the Global Council of Water Commissioners made their deals and moved into towns throughout the country. They called it "the integration." The Commission and their contractors integrated with municipal water departments, using their organized network to invade like parasites on local services. It all coincided with the 29th Amendment to the United States Constitution, later referred to as the Regional Trident Plan. Nova is a story about survival, power structures, the turning of relationships, and the networking between people and the systems to which they belong. It’s about A.I. blockchain possibility, and its potential for human betterment versus our detriment. It’s about the question of whether or not we need to be saved from ourselves, and by who or what? The Great Event at the end of the first chapter might just be what actually saves us. The epilogue will take place in 2517. This scene is fully sketched and the full arc of the novel is set. I expect to finish Nova Interitus by summer of 2023. This is realist hard-sci-fi dystopian fiction. I hope you find Nova to be a challenging and consuming story. This is not something I planned to write. It all came to me in a dream and I haven't been able to stop writing it. This Royal Road posting is basically a beta test with chapters and drafts to get some feedback and see if there's any readership for this narrative. For the full experience read Nova on Substack. I will be narrating a podcast version later this year there. https://novainteritus.substack.com/

The Other - a (man) called Ted
A figure, large and present through time in ways most would not understand. Seemingly uncaring about all except his own principles, the one we refer to as the Other (for legitimate reasons, lest some accidentally call upon his old name), finds his way through life. Though refusing to claim the title himself, this (immortal)'s projects have begun to leave him behind, awaiting some accident to move him back into the world. - - - - - - Initially intended to be a novella, then a project to keep me sane in busy times IRL, this will be considered the roughest of drafts. Also, IRL may prevent me from regular updates after the backlog is done. Tags with a grain of salt, items may be mentioned briefly in story so far, or in chapters already written but not published. Content warnings just in case. Some perspective switching in the first several chapters. Legitimately though, in the first chapters an explanation is provided for referencing to the MC as 'the Other.'
