Tom couldn't help but notice Nadine had slightly changed, when she entered the reception office. Her braids were no longer there, instead her hair was in a ponytail and the tail was thick and curly spread outwards like a peacock's tail. When she walked past she didn't give Tom a look or a glance, as if she didn't know him at all. Knowing well that she only saw him that one time, he could understand her reasons. But Tom liked to thing that he would of at least had an impression due to the fact he slammed into the floor like pizza dough.
As she passed by, Tom noticed Ryan taking a sneak peak at her assets.
Seeing Nadine hand in a clip board with names to the reception lady, Tom tried to listen in on their conversation.
"Morning, I see you're in form room A2.
Great, well it just so happens that two of these students are in your Class, young lady.
They haven't been shown around, so would you be a darling and take them with you before first period."
Pushing herself backwards springing off the reception booth Nadine replied. "Yeah sure no problem."
Yelling over the booth the reception lady continued.
"You two boys listen to this young lady she'll show you to your class."
Heading towards the door, Nadine gave a genuine smile to Tom and Ryan each as a greeting. Noticing the two boys not following her she stopped. Turning back, she smiled again towards the two boys. Nudging her head slightly she gestured for the both of them to follow.
Following Nadine,Tom realized Ryan's dreamy gaze towards her. Budging him with his shoulder Tom let out a small chuckle. Annoyed, Ryan started glaring at Tom but soon he realized his readable actions. Seeing Ryan's face become pink, Tom couldn't help but think that this was probably how Leo and Sam think about him all the time.
During their walk Nadine made a detour around the school blocks to explain the areas. Their were designated blocks for subjects for example block B, English block, block C for math and block D for exchange students well known as Asian block. Further into the conversation she showed the school gymnasium, Library, the turf area, Canteen and the School field. Coming up to Block A, she mentioned it was Science block and that Ryan and Tom would have to come here every morning for Form class.
While walking Tom was a hundred percent sure she actually had no clue who he was. Noticing the way she talked now compared to the time when she resembled him to a twig, made her seem like two totally different people.
When they finally reached the classroom Tom heard the bell make two rings and after a slight pause the bell rang two times again. A burst of students soon came flooding out of the class rooms. Noticing one of the students Tom paled.
Nadine, no not Nadine, but the actual Nadine. Noticing Tom, the new Nadine exclaimed in disbelief.
"Oh my god."Grabbing the other Nadine's shoulder she pointed towards Tom.
"Taliya, that's the moon guy I was talking about."
Noticing Tom's confused expression, Taliya Sighed.

"I'm sorry for my sister's rude behavior. I think being called as beautiful as the moon is kinda cute."
"Ew no Taliya this guys a creep."Nadine mentioned.
Tom wasn't sure but after those words were said, it looked like a rodeo steer down, the way the twin sisters looked at each other.
After a minute Nadine gave up. "Ugh whatever I'm going to be late for class."
As she left, Taliya turned to Tom with her usual smile.
"You guys know where your next classes are?"
Guys? Tom thought, looking over his shoulder Tom saw Ryan still standing their. Tom saw no reason to why the guy needed to stand their, didn't he have class. But putting more thought into it he realized that if it was Leo or Sam he would probably do the same thing.
Looking at his Times table Tom saw his next class *9:20-10:10 English B5* Block B was the first block Taliya took them to, it was across the reception office with a concrete stairway heading towards it. Taliya seemed to lazy to go up to B block, only pointing up towards the area before explaining what it was, with no intention of heading up.
"I got English. What about yourself ma'am?" Tom asked
Laughing Taliya replied. "Nadz was right, you do speak weird. I got science with Mrs Summers so I'll be staying here. What about you Ryan?"
"Huh, me?" Ryan asked.
"Well who else has their name plastered on their lunch bag?" Taliya continued.
"Ugh, English." Ryan explained after hiding his brown bag under his armpit.
Looking at her watch she continued.
"9:17, English is on the other side of the school you guys better hurry up."
Looking at Tom she grinned slightly. "Sir."
Reaching the classroom Tom heard the usual bell noise.
During class the first thing the students had to do was move the desks and chairs to the ends of the room. After forming a circle the teacher made each student say their name with the addition of one of their favorite foods. Hearing all the different sorts of foods made Tom realize the variety they had in this era. Unsure of some foods he usually stuck to what he knew, but seeing students eyes lighten up over the mention of three letters made him want to taste whatever that was. Ryan was two students before Tom and he said his name but shrugged when it came to foods. When it was Tom's time to shine he remember to say Theo and his food of choice was protein based foods. Most of the students looked at him weird but a larger student gave Tom an approving nod.
After class it was morning tea. Tom didn't quite know what to do, he had no clue where to find Leo and Sam so he wondered off aimlessly. Looking over his shoulder he spotted Ryan shadowing him. With a thought, he just asked Ryan if he knew where to find Leo or Sam.
"Hey, you know where Sam or Leo would be?"
After awhile of pondering he answered Tom, but in the way he said it seemed like he was asking Tom. "Field?"

"Why would they be on the field?" Tom asked in a confused tone.
Replying Ryan still seemed unsure.
"Theirs normally a smokers spot on the field."
"Ah your a genius." Tom exclaimed while patting Ryan's back.
Tom noticed the more he patted Ryan the more Ryan looked pissed.
During their journey towards the field Tom found Sam.
Sam was angry, but not the type of angry that Tom was used to. His casual profanity gestures were constantly spewing out. Seeing that Nadine wasn't backing down in their argument , Tom decided to sit down on a empty table covered in bird shit. Looking in his brown bag Tom grabbed out some beef jerky and a nut bar. Ryan refused to take a seat and just ate some of his green stuff.
When Tom spotted Nadine storming off he decided to walk up to Sam. While he was walking over another figure approached Sam from the canteen area. He looked like a taller and skinnier version of Sam and he had a haircut like that dick at the mall. Walking up Tom heard the figure talking to Sam in a smug tone.
"Sammy, I told you to get one of em cougar ladies, these young girls are just drama. Not worth the time and definitely not worth the effort.
With both of his hands covering his whole face Sam replied.
"Deano, fuck off unless you have my smokes."
"Yeah I got them." Deano said while throwing the packet of smokes.
When Sam caught the packet Deano continued. "Why the hell did you tell Luca I wasn't at Hilton."
"What the fuck do you mean, how was I supposed to know you weren't at Luca's, you don't tell me nothing anymore." Sam replied.
Seeing Tom arrive Deano couldn't help but tilt his head.
"Who's the surfer dude, he seems familiar ?"
"Oh that's Theo, Leo's roomate."
Sam replied while reaching out his had for a pop with Tom.
"Yo." Tom answered raising his eye brows.
"And the asian dude?" Deano asked.
Leaning to his left Sam saw Ryan standing behind Tom. Looking back towards Deano he shrugged his shoulder with his bottom lip slightly hanging out. "No clue." With his glance Sam asked Tom if he knew the guy with his eyes.
Noticing this Tom stepped to the side. "This is Ryan a new kid like me."
After a long awkward silence, Tom decided to bring up a conversation with Sam."You know where Leo is?"
"Oh Leo plays soccer on the turf during breaks." Sam explained.
Hearing this Tom thought about heading over but he also guessed by the time he got there it would be time for the next class.
Casually patting his pocket Sam whispered under his breath. "Fucken bitch I can't even have a smoke now."
With a glance toward Deano, Sam asked a question. "If you weren't at Hilton or Luca's where were you?"
Winking towards Sam, Deano replied. " This chicks house, stayed there through the whole of the Holidays, Sammy I gotta tell you, older women is where its at. I mean forget about it, I'm not talking about them girls who you have to take out to eat. I'm talking about women who cook and clean and know what their doing when they jump on your..." *Beep* *Beep*
*Beep* *Beep.*After the bell Sam looked towards Tom.
"What class do you have now?"
"PE, but it doesn't have a class room next to it?" Tom replied
"Oh that's fine I got it to, I'll take you to the Gym."
Looking around Tom couldn't spot Ryan to ask what class he had. He must of left earlier when Deano was talking Tom thought.
popping hands with Deano, Sam said. "See you at lunch."
"Nah, I'm heading off after 3rd period I only have PE and study after Lunch." Deano replied.
"Oh okay, I'll see you back at Hilton then." Sam said.
"Yeah maybe." Deano said while walking off.
Throughout the whole day Tom got sick of all his classes pretty much doing the same name game over and over again.
Hearing the last bell Tom couldn't help but smile. Noticing the other students smiling and hovering around the door, Tom couldn't help but think that others could feel his pain as well. He also realized that he didn't learn anything but how to shoot a 3 pointer during P.E with Sam.
Walking up the Hill Tom noticed the good workout it gave on his legs. Hearing other kids bitch about it like. "I gotta walk up this hill for four years." seemed wrong to Tom.
Entering the bus, Tom walked towards the back and sat next to Sam.
"Wheres Leo?" Tom asked.
"Shops, he normally buys the whole place, you know that's the only reason he brings a bag to school. You can head into the shop and ask him to buy you some snacks, he probably won't mind. Sam replied.
"Oh nah I'm cool" Tom replied, Tom normally wouldn't miss the opportunity for free stuff but at the moment he didn't wanna lose his seat.
When they got back from Hilton the first thing Tom done was head to Mr Nelson. Carrying around his things the whole day was annoying to Tom, especially the fact that he didn't use it once. After a brief discussion on how amazing Franklin's was Mr Nelson was glad to grab Theo's things.
Tom felt to tired to work out before dinner so he decided to make Monday his rest day. After dinner Tom had a shower and brushed his teeth. Heading towards Sammy's room Tom wanted to ask about Taliya.
But when he passed by, he got outta there before Sammy could realize that Tom noticed him crying.
Reaching his room, Leo was snoring loudly with his head leaning off the couch's armrest. Seeing this Tom thought about looking for Ryan to talk to but with more thought put towards the idea, Tom couldn't help but think Ryan didn't seem like a fun person to hangout with. At least he can skip the nightly talk Tom thought slightly cheering up. After placing a new towel and his body wash in a good spot the grab in the morning Tom jumped into bed.

And the world's changed that video games level and classes governed the power system of the new world! What will she do as a weak and fragile girl? Will she get her power back? How will she survive in the harsh world? Author's note: I will update daily if possible and each chapter is around 2,000 words. Gores, Sexual Contents, and Traumatising Contents are limited and I try my best not to write them. However, for the progress of the story, I can't help but write some of them in the latter part of the story. However, don't expect them too much ^_^ English is not my native language, so there might be grammatical errors (maybe a lot), but I'll try to fix them, so constructive critiques will be appreciated (^_^)

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
