《Evolution (Rewrite)》Chapter 088 Three suns (3)

I stored my mechanic arm inside my backpack since I couldn’t get up easily with just a leg, and grabbed a few potions to restore my energy. The dragon finally recovered, and then it looked at me, but then I sent a dark arrow to keep its head heavy and then shot ice arrows toward the eye, which was still working.
“Try to open your eyes now.”
Since that was just making the dragon feel slightly uncomfortable, I created another arrow combining the power of wind and fire arrows and then shot toward the destroyed part of the dragon’s face. The arrow exploded, and a few pieces of the dragon’s flesh began to rain over the area. I created another, and after shooting, the left cheek of the dragon’s had been destroyed, and I clearly could see the beast’s throat.
I tried to shot another dark arrow down the dragon’s throat, but another meteor fell, the beast didn’t have to look at me. It could do it even with its eyes closed. But this time that didn’t catch me by surprise. I teleported to the dragon’s head.
“Try to hit me here, you fucking piece of shit.”
I really wanted to see that again, but I decided to return and shot a dark arrow through the dragon’s throat. That was the best way to keep the dragon immobile, after all. After the first dark arrow made the dragon unable to move, I started my torture session. I could have killed the dragon by shooting magic arrows to its insides, but I didn’t want that. I wanted to make that piece of shit feel as much pain as possible.
After ten minutes, I used all the dark arrows I created in the last months, but thanks to those, I had destroyed both of the dragon’s eyes. Pieces of flesh were everywhere, and I was in the middle of the pool of dragon’s blood. I really enjoyed damage that bastard while the beast couldn’t move. But soon I got tired of it, my head cooled down, and understood what I was doing was pointless and idiotic. Mostly because my missing limbs wouldn’t return by doing that and because I was using arrows that took time to create. In any case, the dragon didn’t scream and only opened its mouth when it was about to die.
“Human… mark my words… my brothers and sisters will make you pay for this. My race will decimate your race, your planet. We will…”
“Blah, blah, blah. I don’t need to hear your bullshit, and I also don’t want to hear the prelude of your actions. Just die.”
After shooting a few ice arrows, the third dragon finally died. And I broke my limits for the third time that day, but I was too tired to celebrate.
You have obtained 208542 Evolution Orbs.
You have obtained 209000 Evolution Coins.
“I lost my cool again… but it can’t be helped… I can’t lose limbs and treat it like a daily occurrence.”
I fell on the ground exhausted, but soon I got up to absorb the dragon’s mana, and I still have a job to finish. I destroyed the meteor, which had hit me and the dragon, waiting that I would find my limbs under it. But I didn’t find anything. Even my mechanic arm had become a pile of nothing. I picked it and threw on the dragon’s blood, but nothing happened, it was destroyed beyond repair.
I sighed; after that, I used a memory stone to register that place. I activated my cape’s effect and then used the memory stone Martin had put inside the backpack. Although I was invisible, I was covered in dust, sweat, and blood. So, it didn’t take long before one of the guards protecting the statue felt my presence. As if that wasn’t enough, Sandra was there. And she was by far the most troublesome person I could meet in that place. Lucius and Sabrina never bothered me, after all.

“Ethan, are you here?” Sandra said, looking at the hologram in front of the statue. “We need to talk; it is about Claire.”
It was pretty much obvious that I would be the only person who would appear and use the statue while invisible. But I didn’t want to talk, much less about Claire. Nor did I wanted to be seen in that state, so I just quickly created the potions to restore lost limbs. To my surprise, even though I only spent one thousand evolution coins to heal Claire’s wounded arm. To restore a single limb, I had to spend one hundred thousand coins. But I created without a fuss, and then I returned after registering that place with a memory stone. I would have to create other mechanic arms, heavier and sturdier. But I didn’t need to investigate the volcano.
As soon as I returned, I teleported to the highest building, which was still standing, and then I drunk those potions. After that, I threw myself on the floor, waiting for the potions to heal my lost limbs. I could feel the energy filling my body, and I also could sense the cells multiplying to restore my arm and leg. It was a refreshing feeling and almost made me fall asleep. But I shook my head; I needed to keep watching that volcano until Stella returns. I gave her the order to come at sunset, so I didn’t have to wait for long.
Stella returned at the appointed time, and without delay, I gave her the order to keep an eye on the volcano. I only woke after two days because I could feel my stomach grumbling. Too bad for him, I only had a few cookies and one hundred liters of lemonade inside my backpack. I didn’t want to cook, and the monster’s meat disappeared very fast. So, I created a few hundred kilograms of things that could be eaten without much preparation when I left the city where I found the harpies’ dungeon.
In any case, my limbs were back to normal, and nothing seemed different in that city. So, I decided to look for the entrance of the dungeon near that volcano. Fortunately, it didn’t take to find the dungeon’s entrance. It was at the base of the mountain, and it was large enough for a flying dragon to cross.
I only wanted to investigate, so I became invisible and walked toward the dungeon. It goes without saying since I was practically inside an active volcano, but the place was hot. The ground and walls were brown, and just by touching them for a few seconds was enough to make me lose HP and burn my hand. Just like the other times, before I could even see the end of the cave, I suddenly appeared in the middle of a new world.
It was a world of mountains and sand. The sand didn’t have life, and the mountains didn’t have any vegetation. And that place was hot enough to make me feel dizzy and choke me, the air was heavy and hot, and the sand was melting my sneakers. The environment itself was damaging me, with every passing second, my HP was dropping. I looked to the skies, and then I understood why the place was so hot, I could see three suns. One was setting, the other was rising, and the last one was above me. And as if that wasn’t enough, they were big. No… they were very close to that planet. But, those thoughts disappeared when I saw hundreds of those over-sized lizards lying down on the sand as if they were on a comfy bed.

Those were the three most powerful dragons I could see, immediately I took a step backward, but I stopped and looked at the most powerful dragon again. Something was off; the number of times they broke their limits was lower than the dragons I killed outside. I confirmed my suspicions, and another thing picked my interest… the number of orbs they had was continually increasing.
‘What the hell…’
It almost looked like they were getting stronger without doing anything. Well, it wasn’t surprising that they could that. Normal monsters could absorb the mana from the environment, but the dragons were obtaining three orbs every second was a bit too much.
‘Is it because they have three suns?’
That was probably the case, but why didn’t they leave the dungeon? They were continually looking at the invisible portal, but they didn’t try to approach it. In any case, I confirmed a few things and then left the dungeon. I returned to that building, where I had slept to analyze my discoveries. All the dragons were different, so they hadn’t been created like Tinemouth’s trolls. And just like Tinemouth, they had a reason not to leave their world and invade earth.
‘The only difference between the dragon’s on that planet, and the dragons I killed was the number of times they broke their limits. Do they have to break their limits one hundred and twenty times to use the portal? But why?’
If they were under a restriction to leave, they probably also were under a restriction to return. That would explain why none of the dragons tried to return to their world. In any case, I only managed to confirm one of those theories, and after two weeks observing the dungeon, I confirmed that the dragons only could leave the dungeon after breaking their limits one hundred and twenty times. Soon, the other two would also reach that level. But I decided to return to my hometown and inform the others; I would have problems if they get attacked and the statue gets destroyed.
“I guess my job here is done.”
I teleported to where I had left Stella, and there I saw her eating a few goblins, it was kind of unnerving seeing my pet eating humanoid creatures. But since I knew she would never attack me, soon I forgot about it.

Since I only used her to fly and to keep an eye on things when I was sleeping. Stella didn’t grow much stronger. But she could fly for more extended periods, and she was faster than before, so it was fine.

I thought at least one or two of my skills would reach level ten after so much time, but somehow, it was getting harder to level up these skills. But if I spent a few days in a dungeon, concentration and crosshair certainly will reach that level.
Anyway, it was time to return and get my rewards; after that, I would kill some dragons and harpies. Harry was probably getting angry after reading so many reports of one or two lines. Besides, all the survivors will have to prepare, those dragons would leave that dungeon and destroy the entire world, and our country would be only the first target.
I registered that point in a memory stone, and then I used the other to make Stella and me return to my hometown. After that, I teleported and moved us to the outside the walls. Stella was too big, and her presence would reveal my presence. I only wanted to meet Harry, Rose, or Sarah and tell them about the dragon’s dungeon. After that, I intended to leave because I was honestly afraid of Claire. I didn’t only give her reasons to hate me; I was probably her sworn enemy. I activated my cape’s effect, and then I returned.
The survivor’s camp had grown a lot in the past few months, it was hard to be sure, but the walls probably were twenty-five meters tall and had one kilometer of length in all directions. The number of buildings had increased mostly because many survivors created their own monsters. But most of the space inside the walls was being used to cultivate spiritual plants.
‘I wonder what happened to my plants… I just left them behind… what a waste.’
I collected more than one hundred of those plants in the last few months, but I couldn’t just stop to cultivate them. Unless Claire had burned them, probably someone was using my other plants.
It seemed more than three thousand of the survivors were non-fighters; they didn’t face many threats after the end of the one hundred days. So, those who didn’t have the courage to fight the front lines decided to become the support of those who wanted to fight. But I guess it was only obvious, the walls needed MP, and someone had to turn those herbs in potions.
Since I was too busy analyzing those new buildings, I didn’t notice it. But someone stopped in the middle of the road with crossed arms, that person was looking directly at me, even though I was invisible. I only noticed when I was five meters away from her… that person was Claire.
Her hair was a bit longer, and she looked much more radiant than before. While looking at her, my heart began to race. She looked incredibly healthy, her boobs were bigger, and her stomach was big… but strangely, she didn’t look fat. My mind stopped working correctly, and I took a step backward because I was feeling dizzy. Claire was pregnant.
“You don’t have to run.” Claire frowned.
I wasn’t trying to run, but she couldn’t notice that. I totally forgot her skill; she could sense my presence anywhere. It was the perfect counter for my cape. I canceled the effect and forced a smile.
“Hey… Claire… you look healthy…”
“Is this seriously the first thing you want to say?” Claire clenched her fists.
“No… Congratulations! Who is the fa-“
“If you finish that sentence, I will kill you.” Claire’s mana began to leave her body, and I saw dark aura was around her.
“I see… but are you sure? Your stomach is bigger than it should be…”
“It's because I have two kids here with me,” Claire said, and then she turned around. “Anyway, I just wanted to let you know. You don’t have to worry about anything; I will handle everything myself.”
“Tw-twins…?”
After that, I didn’t know what Claire said or did; I collapsed on the floor.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice
A world where magic must be hidden from mankind is a world where mages have no reason to exist. Zara was one of them--a young woman forced to spend her days in confinement, to lessen the risks of outsiders discovering the truth. She was not human. She was, as they say, a living embodiment of a thousand year old curse upon the Kingdom and humanity as a whole. And the only way to handle a curse is to get rid of it--which is precisely what the Kingdom had been doing for centuries--eliminating any being that contained even an ounce of enchanted blood. Zara has lived most of her life with the threat of death hanging over her head, though it never averted her heightening curiosity about magic, nor the abilities innate within her. And when a powerful, enigmatic Sorcerer comes to her with a proposition, Zara finally sees her chance to embrace the curse she was born with. It was a chance laced with precarity and destruction, but a chance nonetheless...
