《Evolution (Rewrite)》Chapter 087 Three suns (2)

When the dark arrow disappeared, I teleported to the dragon’s nape again, and I kept punching, and I also shot a few ice arrows. I didn’t have to destroy that scale with my strength alone, after all. The dragon took off again while it was snorting. It only spoke in a moment of rage; it was easy to tell that the dragon was very proud and wouldn’t talk to a human.
After twenty seconds, I finally destroyed the scale, and then I shot ice arrows non-stop toward the same point. Slowly but surely, I was opening a path to that dragon’s brain, and since I had the frozen world’s core, I would end up killing the dragon after a few minutes. However, thanks to the power of my ice arrows, the dragon got upset and screamed. A single scream had been enough to make me feel dizzy for a few seconds, and I had to stop my attack.
‘How can this fucking creature do this without even using a skill?’
The beast noticed the effectiveness of its scream and tried again, but a dark arrow stopped that action. The scales decreased the size of the gravitational field, but it had been big enough to cover the dragon's entire mouth. I used that chance and shot dozens of ice arrows on that same wound.
Dragon – HP: 725486 MP: 748852 STA: 748996
‘Not bad… not bad at all.’
In just two minutes, I had caused a lot of damage, even without reaching the dragon’s brain, I was sure that I had enough ice arrows to kill the dragon. The wound on the dragon’s nape was getting bigger and bigger; it was already twenty centimeters deep. The beast sensed the danger and tried to scream again, but dark arrows stopped it every single time. Noticing that it was a useless effort, the dragon decided to take some drastic measures.
Since I was too busy attacking, I didn’t know where the dragon was flying. I only noticed its plans when the dragon flew downward direct to the center of the volcano, I didn’t see smoke in the distance, but the volcano was active, and almost all interior was filled with magma. Without much choice, I left the dragon’s nape teleporting to the soil, and two seconds after that, the dragon dived on the magma.
‘Holy crap… are you serious?’
I never imagined the dragon would do such a crazy thing. It was a monster, but it couldn’t survive to magma, right? Once again, I was wrong; after five seconds, the dragon left the volcano.
Dragon – HP: 705111 MP: 748852 STA: 748996
‘… Well, at least it took some damage.’
The difference between us wasn’t only in overall power or on the number of times we broke our limits. I would never be able to do such a thing even after breaking my limits one hundred and twenty times. It was obvious, but the dragon was a real monster, and I was just pretending to be one.
‘The difference between the copy of a human and a true cosmic predator…’
But only that wasn’t enough to make me tremble. As long as I could cause damage, I wouldn’t care if that beast bathed every day on magma.
The dragon flew toward me, and I combined a wind arrow and an ice arrow, hoping that the beast would open its mouth. But again, it didn’t. The creature probably already knew that I killed the other dragon when it opened its mouth. Without any other option, I shot the arrow, and it entered the dragon’s nose. In the next second, ice covered the beast’s entire nose.

“Now, you will have to open your mouth to breath.”
The dragon looked at me, annoyed, but it continued to charge. Such fruitless effort… the beast only hit the ground again. At least the impact shattered the ice on its nose. I teleported back to the creature’s nape, and I resumed my previous job.
“Damn you, human!” The dragon said. “Stop running and face me directly.”
“Oh? Now you want to talk? Why should I do what you want? Why should I face you directly when I don’t have any chance of victory?”
“Because that is the way of the warriors.” The dragon said. “What is the point of winning using the opponent's weakness? True warriors… Cease your attacks and get off of my back!”
I chuckled when I heard the dragon’s complaints; I continued my attacks even while we were talking, and that upset him and made him stop in the middle of his cheesy line. There’s no way in hell I would stop my attacks; I didn’t have time to lose talking with an oversized lizard.
While the beast was trying desperately knock me on the ground or against the building of the ruined city, the wound on its nape was increasing in depth. The dragon finally could see its blood falling on the ground and marking the city. The creature tried to use its arms to smash me, but those short limbs were too slow… it had a lot of vitality and could fly fast, but its body was too heavy.
The dragon finally recognized that it had only two options, run or die. I was weaker, but eventually, I would kill it. The creature would die inside the lava after a few minutes, so it decided to clash against another building. I got away before I could suffer some damage, but to my surprise, the beast literally buried itself on the building’s rubbles.
“Burying your head in the sand, huh. Let’s see for how long you can do this.”
Only my most powerful arrows would be able to destroy the rubbles, but I decided to create another combined magic arrow instead. I teleported to the top of the building in front of where the dragon was buried and sit in it to meditate. While I was creating the next arrow, I drunk mana potions like there was no tomorrow. I only stopped when I was about to puke. I had to create another powerful arrow quickly because I knew something was off. The plan to hide inside below the rubbles was too stupid, that dragon was definitely waiting for something.
In any case, I ignored my fatigue and kept myself concentrated on making the new arrow. Whenever I could, I drunk other mana potions. Keep doing the same thing for days wasn’t easy, but complain was useless, and my life was on the line, so there was no room for failure.
After two days, I was about to finish that arrow when I felt the city trembling. A few seconds later, I saw another dragon appearing at the base of the volcano.
‘Come on… this is going to take forever.’
Thanks to the arrival of the new dragon, I heard the other laughing. He waited for two days for a companion, but that raised a few questions. Why that dragon just didn’t hide inside the dungeon where probably there were other dragons? Why one appeared only after two days? Those were troublesome questions, but it wasn’t as troublesome as the first skill the second dragon had.

‘Are you serious? Meteor Storm?’
I knew teleport was a broken skill, but making rain meteors was just too crazy. And as if wasn’t enough, the second dragon stopped when it was one kilometer away from me. In the next second, I felt a chill and teleported away from that building. I reappeared two hundred meters away from there, and then I saw a five meters long meteor crushing that very same building. The meteor obliterated the building, and I felt the ground trembling thanks to that impact.
‘It can attack from that distance and have such pinpoint precision…’
Dragon – HP: 400000 MP: 1189654 STA: 400000
But not everything was lost, the cost to use such skill was high, and even though the dragon had magic resistance, it could suffer damage from all types of magic. Except for earth, probably.
I tried to get close to that dragon, but the bastard was flying too fast, and whenever it saw me, a meteor fell from the sky on the next moment. It was crazy, but the dragon only have to look at the target, and the meteor would fall 0.5 seconds later.
While I was busy trying to approach the second dragon, the other left the rubbles and began to fly. The fucking beast was grinning from ear to ear, so I decided to make a sculpture out of that smile. Without caring about my remaining mana, I teleported and teleported toward that dragon. The beast knew it couldn’t kill me, and its only option was to leave the job for the other dragon, so it tried to run away. But I wouldn’t let those who mess with me escape that easily.
After a few seconds, I finally appeared in front of the beast, and he tried to devour me, but that only made things easier for me. Before he could try, I shot the arrow I created for two days toward its mouth. And in the next moment, the dragon lost control all over its body and started to fall. It didn’t die, but its insides were frozen and suffered enough damage.
Dragon – HP: 15423 MP: 731525 STA: 739875
I tried to finish off that dragon with my other arrows as soon as it fell on the ground, but another meteor fell and stopped me. However, that meteor smashed the dragon’s head.
You have obtained 191458 Evolution Orbs.
You have obtained 640994 Evolution Coins.
You have obtained Dragon’s Heart.
I was thankful for the help, but I didn’t expect it. However, I didn’t have time to think about such things. I teleported back to the dragon’s corpse and used universal absorption, and I recovered all my mana.
After that, I activated my invisibility and approached carefully. Probably because it had a bigger mana pool, that dragon was way faster than the others. Even though it was big, it was as fast as that red harpy max speed. Thanks to that, I didn’t have time to teleport to its back and hold on something to keep myself on its back.
Since it focused only on increasing its power, the dragon didn’t notice me slowly getting closer. The beast couldn’t see me, but it still was flying in circles around the corpse of the dead dragon. Thanks to that, I had an easy time teleporting and appearing in front of its face. I saw the gaps within the dragon’s mouth and teleported again to the inside of it. I didn’t want to use the same trick every time, but those three dragons already caused too much trouble.
I shot a dark arrow down the dragon’s throat, and I shot five massive ice arrows to pierce the dragon’s tongue. After that, I teleported to the outside, and I saw the dragon falling and hitting several buildings.
Before the effect of the dark arrow could end, I appeared right in front of the dragon’s eyes and began to attack. Activating the hot blood skill, using the hidden blades and my ice arrows, I tried to destroy the dragon’s eyes. Aside from the meteor storm, that was the dragon’s most powerful weapon. It couldn’t decide where its skill would fall without it, after all. The dragon had the strength to try to smash me with its short arms. I already saw that coming, and I just teleported away, and soon after, I returned.
The physical defense of that dragon was lower since it needed mana to use meteor storm frequently. So, it didn’t take long before I destroyed the scales which were protecting its right eye. The effect of the dark arrow ended, but I shot others to make the dragon’s head heavier. I also became heavier, but I still was able to shot magic arrows, and so I did.
Dragon – HP: 365698 MP: 1132564 STA: 391452
That dragon was suffering damage faster than I thought, also faster than I thought, I destroyed the dragon’s right eye. Blood and other viscous liquid splashed on me, but I ignored and attacked.
The beast finally sensed that its life was in danger, and I almost saw it trembled when it looked at me and saw my vicious smile and eyes. It didn’t treat me as an equal, so it didn’t say anything. But it considered me a threat and decided to take some drastic measures.
On the next second, a meteor fell and hit my right side and the dragon’s left side of its face. I was too busy attacking, and I didn’t expect the dragon would sacrifice half of its head to kill me. But in the end, its self-preservation instincts prevented the creature from going all out. Only one-third of the dragon’s face had been hit, and only my right arm and right leg had been hit. It goes without saying, but I lost both.
Somehow, I didn’t feel the pain of losing those limbs, probably because the attack caught me by surprise. The shockwave sent me flying a dozen meters away from the dragon, but since the beast was dizzy thanks to the attack, it didn’t use that chance. Despite losing two limbs, I was lucky. I was feeling dizzy, but there was no pain, and I wasn’t bleeding. The speed of the meteor and the shockwave cauterized my wounds.
However, despite the lack of pain, something inside my mind snapped. I got rid of my thought of safely attacking the dragon; now I just wanted to make the beast suffer.
