After I healed the kids’ teacher, I took her and the kids to one of the hotel’s free rooms. I’ll never forget the look in the kids’ eyes when they saw that terrible wound disappear in just a few minutes. They celebrated a lot, and all of them thanked me with smiles on their faces even though I was looking even scarier than before.

The kids’ teacher total recovery would take some time; after all, she slept for three days without eating and barely drinking water. But she’s a die-hard, and will eventually recover. That job had been hard, and I spent half of my evolution coins to heal the kids’ teacher and me, but I was proud of myself.

After buying some food and other useful things for them, I left their room as soon as the tension disappeared and after a hot meal, they fall asleep. I was also exhausted, but I decided to look around to see if anything had changed. The hotel looked pretty much the same, but Henry, Rose, and Sarah weren’t there.

“They already recovered from the shock and are helping Henry? Those two sisters are also pretty strong-willed. But that’s strange; they left even before sunrise?”

After drinking some lemonade, I was already recovered. I could fight against the small fries nearby and then spend the night in the hotel. However, even though I decided that I didn’t leave the building. In just two days, I almost died two times. No, in three days, I almost died three times.

They were a bit annoying, but fighting alongside them was better than fighting alone.

“I guess I’ll decide after I talk to them. If we team up again, I’ll continue in breaking my sensorial limit. Maybe I should talk with them, to create a base of operations here and then look for more survivors while we obtain more evolution coins.”

That would be a good start, but even though I waited for them for an entire day in the hotel’s lobby, they didn’t appear.

Soon after sunset, I was already tired of waiting for them. Harry said that it was a good idea to sleep in this hotel, but they didn’t appear. Maybe they found a better place, or something happened to them. They were mostly strangers to me, but they could be trusted. Besides, I was indebted to them. If they were in trouble, I would like to offer a hand and repay them. I didn’t want to owe anything to others anyway.

After some time, in my boredom, I began to look at the map in the ceiling. The numbers of survivors had decreased by more than one thousand in just two days; things were getting dangerous. Too many powerful monsters were appearing while too many people were dying, I had to do something, or in the long run, we’ll all face some serious problems.

In my boredom, I looked at the red dots nearby the hotel; maybe I should bring those people to the hotel. Those red dots represented only eleven people, but it was a start. But then something began to bother me; a red dot was in the middle of a street was barely moving. But it looked to be heading towards the other ten red dots.

“I have a bad feeling about this.”

Even though Harry wasn’t so smart, she wasn’t stupid. Besides, Rose would, without a doubt, return to this hotel every night even if she had to drag Harry and her sister by their necks. All to keep them safe.

Since the kids and the teacher were still sleeping, I decided to leave a message with them using the notebook that I created earlier. I wrote a letter on a page and put it under their room’s door. My message was simple, don’t leave the room and only answer if someone says my name.

Thanks to the last battle, I was still uneasy in walking alone. Maybe I couldn’t see it in the skill screen, but I was pretty sure that I had the skill to attract even more dangerous monsters when I’m walking alone.

Soon after I left the hotel, I began to be attacked by monsters. I killed all of them, but I also found many corpses lying around. As I expected, even the monsters are attacking each other to eat and get stronger. However, everything could still become worse. Until now, those evolved mutants didn’t try to lead the others of its same species. If one monster can command a hundred of small fries, then the survivors will really face some serious problems.

Since I ran instead of walking, I soon reached the localization of that red dot, but before that, I found two corpses and their clothes looked pretty familiar.

“They are the bastards who killed Martin!”

My blood began to boil, but I shook my head to calm my nerves. I can’t be impulsive against them; I have to cool my head. One of the corpses had a huge wound on the neck, while the other looked fine, but I could see signs of blood coming out of his eyes, ears, and nose.

“This one got cut by a sword and the other… it looks like his brain suffered some damage. Don’t tell me…”

Harry and Rose killed those two guys, but why? They had all the reasons to avoid them. No, maybe they got ambushed by them and had to fight for their lives. After that, I looked around me, and I could see the signs of a battle. Blood was everywhere, and a little ahead I could see a trail of blood, someone was heavily wounded but was still moving. After following the trail, I found Harry unconscious and bleeding. All his body was injured, and both of his legs had been broken. I also saw some sign of bites; he fought against monsters, even in that state.

“Holy shit… I have to take him to that Hotel.”

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any sign of Rose and Sarah. But I had an idea about what happened with them, and that idea just made angrier.

Since Harry was too big and heavy, it took me three hours to get back to the hotel. Since the smell of blood was too strong, I also had to fight a lot along the way. But that was fine, as long as they are only small fries I can handle them even though I didn’t have time to waste.

When we arrived at the hotel, I created the same medicine that I used in the kids’ teacher and applied on Harry. But even though most of his wounds disappeared, he was too weak to wake up.

“He lost too much blood, guess that I’ll have to create another one.”

I was spending too much evolution coins, but I had no other choice. After all, Harry prevented my death two times, after this, my debt will be halved. But before I could do that, he woke up and stopped me.

“Please, go,” Harry said while trembling with tears in his eyes “… and save them.”

“Calm down; we will save them. Just give me a minute.”

“No, you have to now!” Harry shouted and coughed blood. “I’m not fast enough… I’ll only slow you down.”

He had a point, alone I would find them faster. Although Harry would help a lot in the fight against those criminals, but then I noticed. I didn’t have to fight them; I only had to kill them. I didn’t have to worry about things like ethics and honor against criminals. I only had to eradicate them.

“All right, wait here. I’ll bring them back.”

Rose and Sarah were probably among those ten red dots, but I decided to confirm that using the statue, I was right and just like I thought, they didn’t kill them. Without wasting time, I left the hotel and began to run towards the criminals’ hideout. I ignored most of the enemies; I only killed the mutant cats because they could run faster than me.

Around midnight I found the criminals’ hideout and the place couldn’t be more stupid: it was a mansion.

‘Bastards, they think they are the kings of the city now because they are free?! No… calm down. I have to keep my focus, no more mistakes. I have to make sure to repay my debt to those two.’

Even though they were the earth’s scum, they were survivors. They probably were stronger now; I had to be careful and kill them before they could do anything or use Rose and Sarah as meat shields.

The mansion was huge, but I could see their exact positions thanks to the radar. Two of them was in the mansion’s entrance gate, on guard duty.

‘They are smarter than I thought. But they are not alert.’

Even though they were holding their weapons, a spear and a sword, I could see they yawning, they would pay the price for their crimes and their stupidity. After resting for a few minutes, I approached using an energy pole as a cover. Finally, I was only thirty meters away from them, at that distance and without the wind against me, I only had to aim for a second, and I pulled the trigger.

Two bolts and two kills, but this time I didn’t relax, I just kept moving even though those messages impressed me a lot. However, I made a single mistake; I didn’t consider the sound their weapons would make when they would fall on the ground. In the silence of the night, all living beings nearby heard those metallic sounds, even the criminals inside the mansion. Six of the eight remaining red dots inside the mansion began to move, but only three of them were heading towards my direction. Without wasting time, I crossed the small garden and also left an empty pool behind, and I took cover behind one of the cornerstones of the mansion.

‘I have to wait until all of them leave the house, they probably didn’t break their sensorial limit, so they won’t be able to see the two corpses unless they approach.’

Even before I could see them, I already began to aim towards the door. And then they appeared.

“Tsk, those assholes are already sleeping even before the turn change.”

“It can’t be helped; they enjoyed themselves too much this day. Besides, those three gave us a lot of trouble.”

“Yeah, the small girl was easy, but the tall one even bit me.”

Thanks to their conversation, I almost pulled the trigger before I could see all of them, but I managed to endure. They would all die anyway; there was no point in losing myself to the rage.

When the last one crossed the door, I pulled the trigger and killed him with a bolt in his head, even before he could fall on the ground my third bolt already had hit the third one also in the head. This time, the weapons didn’t make any sound, because those were on their backs.

Slowly and carefully, I entered the mansion. And I searched in the first and then the second floor looking for the others since the radar couldn’t tell me that. However, I found nothing; they were on the last floor of the mansion.

Thanks to the radar, I found them in two different rooms. Three red dots in one room e and two in the other, but I couldn’t identify in which one of them Rose and Sarah were. But I didn’t have to take any actions.

“Where in the hell are those useless fuckers? Matt, Ivan! Bring those idiots to me right now!”

“Come on, boss. Can’t you wait for a little bit? It’s finally our turn here.”

“If you two don’t bring them here in five minutes I’ll kill both of you!”

Their leader looked pretty serious in his threat; I could understand that because the other two left their room with annoyed and scared expressions on their faces. They left the room at the same time, and they died at the same time. Matt, Ivan had a lot of scars on their faces; they fought a lot in these last few days. But since they obviously only broke their physical limits, they recovered faster.

Only the bed was fine, and on top of the bed, I saw Sarah, half-naked and dirtied with blood and other human body fluids. I already imagined what they would do to them, but even so, I received a shock when I saw Sarah in that sorry state.

She was awake but immobile, she didn’t even react to my presence or when I approached. I decided to talk to her, but I changed my mind. She had the eyes of a doll, without life, as if she didn’t have any reason to live. I couldn’t even begin to understand how she was feeling, but considering that she just lost her parents and then this happened, that was almost expected.

I left Sarah in that room and then decided to get rid of the last criminal and then see how Rose was. Since she was really strong-minded, I was worried about her, not to mention the words of those criminals still bothered me. But when I left the room in the corner of my field of vision, I saw a shadow approaching my head. I didn’t know how, but I managed to evade the shadow by a hair’s breadth. The shadow disappeared, and a huge club appeared and then it hit the floor, causing a loud noise.

“Oh, a kid! And you even evaded my attack. You broke your limits several times already, haven’t you?” A huge bald man asked while smiling.

It was that bastard that I saw on the third day, the leader of the scums. I began to feel that hate again, but this time, I didn’t lose my cool. That guy was strong; I couldn’t be careless. Besides, he had three handguns in his waist. But I knew that I could kill him, he just needed to try to pick of the three guns, and I would put a bolt in the middle of his forehead.

“Relax,” The bald man said with a smile. “Let’s be friends.”
