《Paradiso》Bird Man

Cain worked deep into the night editing the video he took of the child rapist that he beat and mangled. Cain liked killing child rapists the most, it brought him deep pleasure.
"Not too long now, and the video should be up on the streets. The people need to know what type of evil lines the streets." Cain spoke out in a soft voice.
{Buzz} Glancing to his right, Cain looked at his phone that was buzzing.
"Hello? Who is this?" Cain's voice rang out lightly into the room.
"It's Nok, and I have some news that you might like to hear." After a slight pause, the man on the other side of the phone starts to talk again.
"Word on the street that there are some weird creature sightings around the sewer areas, stories of demonic-looking creatures and deformed monsters."
Cain exhaled lightly. "There are always rumors of demons and ghouls in New York, Nok You know better than anyone else that the gossip you usually hear is nonsense."
Laughing on the other side of the phone, Nok spoke again. "And you know better than anyone else, that I wouldn't bring something up unless I thought it worth your time, right? Roomers aren't the only weird things happening on the streets Cain, There have been over 40 missing person cases in the last two weeks alone."
Cain frowned. "That is a lot, any specific place that these people are going missing?"
As of now, there is no particular area, but most of the missing people seem to fall into the young group and seem to disappear into alleyways, only a few have been over the age of Thirty, and most of them have been delinquents that have been out after dark, many have a history with drugs."

Cain thought for a few seconds and then came to a decision. "Alright Nok send me some directions and I will go check it out. Kidnappings of mostly young people, it might be the work of the ring, what do you think Nok?."
Nok was quite it for a moment, then he spoke. "At first glance it does, but including the rumors and the fact that the ring usually isn't this bold might lead it to be something else."
"Okay." Cain hung up the phone and pinched the bridge of his nose. Feeling a headache coming.
He grabbed his coat off his coat rack and started to make his way out of the mansion.
"Young master, where are you heading off to? Do you need me to come with you?" The question came from a tall but grey-haired man. He had a strong jaw and blue eyes that shone with bold intellect.
Cain smiled at the man. Since Cain's father was away for most of the year, even if his father was in New York, cain had been raised by the butlers and maids of the house.
And Gideon, the man before him, was like a father figure to him; Cain's earliest memories had Gideon in them. And even though he was almost an adult, Cain still remembered the strong arms that used to carry him to bed after he had passed out, usually in the living room after he was done playing with his toys.
"No I should be fine, I am going on another one of my missions," Cain spoke in a soft voice.
"Ah I see, does it have to do with the ring?" Gideon rubbed his chin with a thoughtful expression.
"It could very well be the ring, or it could be something else completely, there have been rumors of monsters and demons, but as you know there are many druggies and other types of weirdos on the streets."

Looking at Gideon, Cain put his hand on the old man's shoulders. "I will be fine, you know how careful I am with this stuff."
Gideon nodded and disappeared behind down a hall to the left.

Hours later, cain was walking down an alleyway, the stench of lingering garbage and animal piss assaulted Cain's nose. "I really need to speak to dad, about this garbage issue. The street cleaners are getting lazy."
Looking around with bored eyes, Cain checked the ground and walls for any clue on the missing people. "According to the files, this is where more than one kid went missing."
"HELP ME" Rushing around the corner was a cute girl with blonde pigtails. And chasing after the girl was a small creature even smaller than her, which was pretty short considering the girl was only around 3. She was screaming with tears running down her face.
"What in God's name is that little abomination?" Cain shouted in his head.
The monster had a bulbous fat body that was grey and looked like it had bird shit all over it. Along with its fat little body, it had a bird's head with 4 eyes.
Thinking quick, cain pulled his knife out of his sheathe that rested at his hip. Grabbing the blade of the knife, he flung it at the creature's head and nailed it right in the head, sending its dark blood all over the walls and on the ground.
The young girls' eyes widened, and she started to run towards Cain. Coming before him, she hugged his leg and started to cry. "Please help me, mister."
Smiling at the little girl, he picked her up and hugged her. "No need to worry, I got you; we will find your momma and daddy."
The little girl shook her head and started to cry. "They got mamma and daddy already." Then she pointed down the alleyway. "The monster took them into the sewer."
"They? This might be harder than I thought." Cain mused.
He set the girl down on the ground, which she fused about. "Don't worry, little one. You will be safe." Taking his phone out of his pocket, he started a call.
"Young Master? What can I help with?" Gideon's voice rang out of the phone.
"Yeah, I am going to need help; those rumors seemed to be real, we have little abominations running around in the alleyways and sewers, there was also a little girl that I found being chased," Cain spoke with a stern voice.
"Understood on my way; I will make arrangements for the girl." The phone went dead, and cain put his phone away.
Staring at the little bird, man Cain walked up to it and pulled his knife out of its tiny head.
"Stay here little one, and if any more come, poke them with this. I am going to go find your mom and dad."
