Kal was livid, white hot anger rushed out from the depths of his being as he battled with an overwhelming urge to tear everything in sight apart. The broken look of his troops, of his friends and comrades had ignited a part of him he never knew existed.

At least twenty percent of the hundred Nagas who followed him here were either dead, dying or seriously injured. It was a horror he had never experienced before, and it was a horror he was going to make sure to dish out on each and every single one of those vampires and dark elves.

“My lord, I have been able to find a loophole through the fog and the ravine.”

Kal turned to the censor, he had light scratches on his dark armor and his helmet was a little crooked, but overall he was okay. Kal heaved a sigh of relief over that though, he was just a kid, an outstanding one no less but a kid in the end. Kal would never be able to forgive himself should anything have happened to the boy, not to mention they needed his ability to circumnavigate this bloody mine field.

“Where?” Kal asked with a voice that had no hint of warmth.

The young Naga shivered in involuntary fright at the sound of his voice. Kal noticed but he couldn’t give a damn at this moment in time. His mind had a singular focus right now and he could not be encumbered by the way a child perceived him.

A few hundred meters towards the east, there is a part of the ravine that does not have any lingering magical traces and seems to be relatively free. As for the fog I can lead you all through it, or we can also use those staffs of the weavers. I can give you a warning early enough before you get to the edge of the ravine.”

It seemed relatively simple to Kal at this point in time, but in his short time back here, he had to learn the hard way that things were no longer as simple as it once was, now every shadow and rock had the potential of ending your life.

Kal did not take to long to make his preparations after the information he just received. He was quite sure that the young Naga would be able to lead them past the ravine with no problem at all, well with as little problem as possible if you really want to take into consideration how dangerous the pit now seemed to be.

Kal however needed to make contingencies if he was to avoid the tragedies he had successively been exposed to. He divided the rest of his troops in half, and divided the relatively untouched group of werewolves and human guards that followed behind.

He left Adein in charge with not much of a choice, but he was very sure the Nagas left behind will be able to keep him in line. As for the two weavers S and M, they were coming with him. Apart from the fact that they were quite useful to him, leaving them behind will be a recipe for disaster if he was not here to control them. Of all the people here he trusted those two even less than the vampires and dark elves he was now going to derive great pleasure in killing.

With much or at least a significant part of his bases covered, he followed the young Naga back into the fog that now carried with it an invisible aura of death and despair. Regardless of how confident any of them felt when they first came into the pit, that confidence has already be smoldered and turned into extreme caution and an unsure courage to brave the unknown.

Kal tried to keep himself as focused as possible. There was to many things that wanted to run wild and amok within his mind, but he was keeping them all locked up in a cage. The rage, the hurt and the deep and overwhelming sense of loss he currently felt threatened to drown him in a pool of self pity and self blame that it was a constant battle to keep on moving. But Kal was a soldier, he led soldiers to their deaths before, so this was not something new. There would be time to grieve in the future, and even though his soldiers had been slaughtered without being granted the honor of a honorable death on the battlefield, but instead killed like animals by cowardly traps set by equally cowardly men.

Deep within himself Kal had resolved all to build his fallen comrades a monument with the blood and bodies of all this infernal creatures of the dark. He was going to make sure they all felt pain and despair the like which they have not experienced in the two thousand years they had all spent here as prisoners. He was bringing them pain, and he was going out to make sure they got the bulk of it. No one would be safe, no one would be spared, no man, woman, child or even pet would survive his wrath, he would make sure that they all felt the full brunt of it.

The Nagas moved swiftly through the fog until they got to the point where the censor said they could cross. Much like where they had fallen to traps, the fog here was quite thick and there was no way to tell if there was a trap or something even more terrifying beyond the fog. Kal needed someone to go across and scout, but he didn’t ask.

He just grabbed the first human he could and chucked him across the ravine with all his strength. The only downside was that the human he just grabbed was actually the weaver M. Well Kal could not do anything about it now, all he could do was wish the weaver God speed and good luck.

“You fucking, slimy, disgusting Snake!!!!” a livid voice screamed from beyond the fog.

“Oh look he’s stills alive, what a shame.” Kal muttered to himself in silent contemplation.

With a proper path discovered it did not take long for all of them to cross over. But after that Kal was at an impasse about what to do next. He could advance with the force he had now and hope it would be enough, or he could send for the other half and descend upon this prisoners with the full might of the soldiers behind him.

However there were too many inconsistencies, hence he could not make a proper decision. If he goes with just half his forces, it might end up being inadequate and cause a lot of damage. But if he goes with his full force, combining this trinity of werewolves, Nagas and humans he might stand a chance, or still end up getting wiped out. Not to mention they would be leaving their backs wild open.

Regardless of how much Kal wanted to hurt an entire race of vampires and werewolves, he had to be objective and smart about his every move. They had come here grossly under prepared. He had thought that regardless of their immense size advantage, they trumped them with pure firepower, after all there were master warlocks and other very advanced classes among his forces. They could cause a whole lot of damage, but he was wrong.

If anything the past hour has shown that his enemies could match them in pure firepower. He had no idea how things could have progressed to such an extent, a lot of things could basically be attributed to a certain degree of ignorance and laziness by the wardens and guards of he dancing caves if Noxis Nyx. With their prisoners becoming so complacent over the years of their captivity, their jailors equally fell into a cesspool of wanton laziness and derive great pleasure of torturing their prisoners without paying proper attention to protocol and making sure they stayed sealed!.

Kal decided after a while to just continue on as he is. If anything should happen to the force he was currently leading, then it would be better to leave an avenue for the other half to escape and send a warning back to that damned council of light, and have them send a proper force down here to subjugate this filths properly.

Once upon a time Kal did not really have any animosity against the vampires and dark elves. His feelings towards them was quite neutral, but after the deaths if his brothers in arms, And in such a cruel and un honorable way. He could care less if they all fell into the abyss and rotted for all eternity. In a situation like this any spectator would call Kal a hypocrite, because what he had just experienced was something he had dished out innumerable times to his enemies or just people who were in the way of his people’s war mongering nature or pissed the council of light off.

He did not care though, this world was ran by those in power, diplomacy and democracy can only go so far. And even though the world has changed a lot since the last war, one thing has never changed. And that was who really held power, even though the councilors seat on their asses all day and talk about constitutional rights and policies all they really needed to do was give the order and an entire race would go extinct. With power there was never any need to feel remorse with power you can choose what are to feel, and right now Kal chose to feel rage and anger over the deaths of his soldiers even though he has visited the same horror numerous times on other people.

Kal took the lead ad he led his soldiers deeper into the pit. On the other side of the ravine there was no fog, but it was still equally quite strange. Kal had been here before, so he knew for a fact that there was supposed to be a rail car somewhere around here for transport. But everything here was just…. Empty.

With a tilt of his head Kal gave the order for a human to be a vanguard. With the guy leading at the front the rest of them followed. So far it has been really quiet, and due to that Kal could not shake off the feeling that something was seriously wrong, though he could bot pinpoint what it was at the moment.

“Stay sharp and be careful. Something’s wrong.” Kal ordered as they all continued to move. The way he looked at it, he didn’t really need to warn any of them to be attentive, but it didn’t hurt to state the obvious in a situation like this.

They all kept on moving in a single file for another ten minutes. Their path was a relatively straight line, but then the guy who was acting as the vanguard decided to deviate from the path a little. He started moving a little bit to the right, and everyone else carefully followed since that was the particular direction where the pit's residents could be found.

It did not take long before anther misfortune made itself known. At least this time however it only be felled one person. The vanguard seem to have hit a wall, a wall that could not been seen if not for the fact that the moment the vanguard touched the invisible wall, strange runes and symbols lit up and an intense surge of electricity traveled from its surface and snaked through and within his entire body.

Every other person quickly stopped as they helplessly watched the vanguard scream himself to a very electrifying and intense death. The runes on the wall appeared as if it was floating in the air as it glowed and pulsed in rhythm with his screams.

After a few minutes it stopped, but what was left behind was a completely charred human corpse and the stench of burnt flesh. Kal could not help but twitch his scaled face as he struggled and unsuccessfully tried to reign in his anger.

His soldiers all looked at him with hard expectant gazes, waiting for his next order. Kal was a little stumped, he had no idea for how long this wall ran, it was very much an obstacle meant to slowly whittle them to death just like the ravine. As such Kal reckoned his enemies would probably expect him to go round and find an opening just like he just did to cross the ravine and the fog. But this time instead he would rather do something they wouldn’t expect, who says he has to go around, he would much rather go through.

Kal made his way to the front of their single filed formation that somehow still stayed in place and did not disperse in light of this new commotion. Kal’s soldiers were properly trained, but as far as the werewolves and humans were concerned, they were only still in the file in fear of death. After all the wall was invisible and no one knew where it starts from or where it ends.

Kal stopped a good distance from the charred corpse and closed his eyes. Every warlock had instinctive understanding over the combat oriented side of the element of darkness. Darkness like every other element was governed and made up off different concepts.

Much like how water can give birth to ice, wind and fire to different degrees of lightening and earth to metal. Darkness had a few concepts of its own that was spread among the numerous classes that dealt and manipulated the darkness element. Necromancer dealt with the aspect of darkness that controlled life. It might seem impossible but the concept of life is the only thing every discovered element had in common.

Life could exist in all sort of places, even in the darkness and as such the necromancer drew their power from that concept. Next under darkness there was the concept of decay, disease, and even death. Warlocks had no set specialty in regards to their control over the element of darkness. They were known as the jack of all trades in regards to the darkness element and quite literally they mastered non.

But it made them more versatile on a battlefield and could cover for a variety of situations with their abilities. But warlocks were still powerful, and given enough time they usually end up extremely powerful.

Kal’s true age was somewhere around six to eight hundred years old. He has had almost a millennium to master some of the most dangerous and destructive spells of the warlock class, and right now he was about to unleash one of them.

The (black eater) was a spell that fell under the darkness concept of decay and devour. It was a combination of two concept and had quite an immense effect on magic of all kinds regardless of its source.

Kal made both his hands clawed as he brought the tips of his fingers together. It made it look like his hands were a cage and had something within them. Kal still had his eyes closed and he opened himself to the way. The(Black Eater) required a significant amount of Mana to cast and it took quite a bit of time to bring the spell into existence.

Kal felt the element of darkness as a whole, as an entity. And within such a place as the pit where the natural light of the sun and moon have not shone in for two thousand years since its inception, the element of darkness made up at least forty percent of its elemental essences. Kal could feel it, and for some reason it was incredibly pure compared to the environment outside the dancing caves.

And within the essence of the element Kal could feel the individual concepts float by. They were all like numerous and individual threads that combined together made up the essence of the darkness element. Drawing power from it and in such an environment was actually twenty percent more effective and faster than he had ever experienced except in some special places and zones.

Kal let his Mana connect with the element, and even deeper he let it connect with the concepts of both decay and devour, he felt it crawl down through his Mana like a bridge or a channel to the very element of darkness itself. Then he pushed them both to the tips of his fingers, silently murmuring an incantation to give shape and life to the spell.

The(Black Eater) was actually one of the few rare warlock spells that required an incantation. Most of their spells are instinctively cast through the help and guidance of the WAY, but for some spells, the power of words and direct confrontation, intention is required to bring it into existence.

Such action is actually usually required when a spell is actually created for the first time or is actually too complicated to completely rely on the help of the SYSTEM.

Within the cage of his hands a wisp of dark smoke suddenly appeared. It first had the unstable shape of a coin before successively growing into the size of an egg. And when it got to that shape a phenomenon began to take shape as individual wisps of darkness energy began to flow and converged in the little black smoke egg within Kal’s hands.

All of the energy gathered began to compress and converged, giving the smoke like egg a more glossy and physical shape. After a period of a few minutes Kal stopped his casting and opened his eyes. His originally gleaming yellow eyes were now completely black and gave off an eerie glow that shook any body who locked gazes with him straight to their core.

The hands that trapped the little black egg of decay and devouring began to shake as it became increasingly difficult for Kal to withstand its pressure and power. With a yell he flung the egg of darkness towards the direction of the wall. As soon as the spell left his hands Kal had an expression of intense relief as he focused his gaze on the wall.

The spell much like a proverbial egg splattered all over the invisible wall, giving the spectating invaders a definite look and outline due to the spread of its now viscous composition. The runes that were already placed on the wall now lit up with a fierce glow as the spell of darkness began to slowly and surely devour it of its power.

Black smoke began to rise up from the wall and even more so as the runes on the wall began to glow with an even more intense light and splendor that Kal and his soldiers had to retreat back to the edge of the ravine and close their extremely sensitive eyes for fear of going blind.

In their momentary lack of sight, the sounds of crumbling rocks impacting solid floor was all they could hear. But with their sight returned the were served with a sight that they had been quite familiar with during their previous time here. Thick, wide and tall pillars that dotted the landscape of pit. The lime green glow of the green district and the sight of vampires and dark elves walking around with an almost nonchalant look on their face.

Kal did not have much to say as the malevolent look on his face spoke volumes of his intention. He whispered to himself “and so the Reckoning begins” before he screamed out loud to his assem bled soldiers.

“Attack!!!”
