Chapter 264
—
The Sins quite immediately realised what had happened when they reached their own respective destinations.
They instantly used their Smart-Dials to try to contact each other, but it didn't connect.
'Something is off.'
They wouldn't exactly be surprised if Amon was just playing with their kits for their 'own good'. But if he was not… one of them was in severe danger.
The submarines they brought with them were quite fast, easily faster than any other ship in the world, but if they wanted to search each seven island, one by one, it'd take hours, and by then the unlucky Sin would have been captured and executed.
So the other Sins took it onto themselves to move. They wore their Raid Suits and started to travel through the sky towards the island closest to them.
Amongst the six sins, Wyper and Raki moved the fastest with their fruits. Wyper mixed his firepower with his suit's flight ability, giving his speed a great boost, while Raki used her dragon form to travel instead.
However, the first one to reach the victim's area was none other than Tsumi, whose island was, by coincidence, the closest.
However, when she reached there though, she simply... froze in her spot in the sky.

Minutes ago, when Garp punched Yamato across the shore, Aisa could only watch as her heart dropped.
She knew that there's a high chance of Amon being around, and he'd save her if anything goes wrong, however, what is "wrong" to Amon was nothing less than "death" to any normal people.
Based on the previous situations, as far as she could tell, Amon might just watch as the people around here cut her fingers, then her limbs, and slowly torture her. He'd only intervene when she's about to die. After all, he could just heal her.
In other words, her death was improbable, so the big problem was the pain that came along.
That both motivated her to fight and scared her to even move.
However, as her Observation Haki sensed something, she decided what to do.
Even though she was horrified at the Marine's strongest man towering over her, she swung her arm towards him.
She didn't go for a punch, no. That would be ridiculous with her strength. Instead, as if being commanded by her hand, the air around her stirred and a gigantic fist made of wind crushed into Garp.

Aisa knew such an attack would be futile against someone like the Marine Hero, but she could read the old man like an open book with her incredible Observation Haki.
It's only been three seconds since Yamato was punched, and Garp was hesitating if he should punch this little, timid girl or not.
If not, Aisa would have died even before she could even think of swinging her arm.
With a burst of wind, Garp was flung back into the land where he stood up and instead rushed at Yamato, who had by then started to rush towards him.
Aisa took that as an opportunity and activated her Raid Suit. Immediately a green cloth wrapped around her before bestowing her a flashy suit, looking very different from the usual Raid Suits, and in fact looking gorgeous.
Aisa wasted not even a second before she jumped off from the top of the submarine into the sea.
The approaching Vice Admirals were astonished at that since they could tell she was a devil fruit user.
But being protected by the suit, she just touched the water under the sea with her palm as she got control over the sea in a kilometre radius around the island.
With that, what she immediately did was to grab the submarine with a hand made of water and then throw it at the incoming batch of people where it crashed into some of them while being barely dodged by most.
Her battalion inside the submarine was certainly shaken and hurt because of that impact, but it took them a few seconds only before they started to crawl out of the submarine from all angles before rushing at thousands of Marine soldiers who had surrounded them.
The submarine had held around two thousand soldiers with most being rear-admiral levels, and less than 10 being Vice-Admiral levels. They were against almost three dozen thousand soldiers, from what Aisa's haki told her, and amongst them, while most were weaker than Rear-Admiral level, there were still almost three dozen Vice Admirals in there.
Moreover, they were in a panic mode seeing water move like that. A devil fruit user who could control water?! That was every other devil fruit user's bane.
Aisa was relieved, realising this would be a balanced battle—before her mind went into alarm mode just as Admiral Aokiji froze almost 100 Einherjars at a single wave of his ice.

Then she realised. There were three Admirals in there as well.
Aisa was hoping to stay underwater a bit longer but she realised that's not gonna happen when Aokiji brushed past some Einherjars and put his hand on the sea.
Aisa immediately jumped out of the water, which started to turn to ice, before swinging her arm in Aokiji's direction from the air. At her command, the sea moved and rushed towards the Ice Admiral, though as Aisa had expected, that was futile as the sea turned into ice too, the moment his fingertips touched onto it.
Though… maybe not entirely futile because even if matter changed their state, as long as Aisa had touched it before, it would still be under the control of her Float-Float Fruit.
'Fuuuh…'
It was in fact the lack of that knowledge that had put Aokiji's guard down which gave Aisa a chance to command the spear of water that had just turned ice to move towards Aokiji's heart, enhanced by her Haki.
The admiral was fast to respond, however, as he stepped away. But while that did save the penetration of his heart, it did not save his lungs as the spear of ice penetrated the right side of his chest.
Blood trickled down Aokiji's lips before simply absorbing the ice into his logia body, therefore sealing his lungs temporarily.
Aokiji wiped his lips, "Not bad, for a little girl. That must be the Float-Float fruit, I assume?"
Not a moment after Aokiji spoke the words, a green suited man walked beside him. He had curly green hair and a wide grin on his face.
"Hoho, you guys are chatting without me?"
Admiral Green Bull, Ryokugyu, only smiled at her before he snapped his finger as tentacles of green plants leapt out of the ground and rushed at Aisa at a blinding speed.
'A devil fruit that can control plants…?'
Aisa thought as she tried to resist the vines wrapping her hands around her waist. However, it was all futile as the thick, green vines started to wrap around her neck, too, strangling her for air.
She wanted to use her powers, but the lack of oxygen didn't allow her to even think straight.
However, she wasn't that worried because she had sensed a presence the moment she penetrated Aokiji's heart a minute ago.
"!"
With a yell from the sky, the vines around Aisa's body shook and trembled as ice started to tickle around its surface before it cracked into a fine dust of ice particles.
In her own white Raid Suit, Tsumi jumped in and reduced Aisa via the air and created distance from the Admirals.
"Are you okay?" Aisa nodded softly at the woman's question, coughing.
"I… I have been waiting for this for a long time." Tsumi then mumbled in a slightly excited voice. "Aokiji is the guy I despise the most." Even though there wasn't any bad blood between them, as they hadn't even clashed in Marineford. "His fruit just annoys me."
At first, she thought her Cool-Cool fruit was just a weaker and nerfed version of Aokiji's Ice-Ice fruit, just like how Charlotte Oven's Heat-Heat fruit was to Magma or Flame fruit.
However, she recently realised otherwise. She had figured out just how potent her fruit could be, in certain situations.
Her fruit was far from awakening, but she was starting to gain unlock powers, or rather use powers she never knew existed.
Charlotte Oven could manipulate the 'heat' of anything. He couldn't only just increase it, he could even decrease it–by lessening the heat within something. Based on that, Tsumi had made some techniques for herself. Instead of just freezing stuff by cooling it, she could heat them up by removing the cool amidst something.
It would certainly not be as useful as Wyper Flame-Flame fruit, in normal scenarios, but against an opponent who uses Ice, she could just remove the Cold from the ice and thus melt it faster than any fire ever could.
"Stand up on your own." Tsumi dropped Aisa in the air and then cracked her knuckles. "I gotta pay someone back for all my insecurities. You take care of the green dude."
Then, she rushed to Aokiji.

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
8 274The London Phantom: A Superhero Webnovel
London is an old city. It has survived floods, fires, plagues and the man-made smog of industry. It has stood firm against the armies of Vikings, Saxons, Normans and the aerial might of the Luftwaffe. It has borne witness to dynsatic feuds, civil wars, military occupation and the sin of regicide. Through all these disasters the city has survived not through force of arms, though its walls were once the envy of the world, but through adapting to the times. Enemies become dependant on the city, and the wealth of the world that flows through it, and so become new allies. If the rulers change, then the city welcomes them with open arms, and open lines of credit. In this way the city seeks to preserve its ancient rights and position of power. Superheroes are a new phenomenon. The first superpowered man walked out of the Nevada desert in 1950, and the world was forever changed. Across the planet, men and women with exceptional abilities made themselves known. At first, they were little more than another source of fear in the era of Mutually Assured Destruction, but over time attitudes changed and the concept of the Superhero was created in the city of Los Angeles. From there the phenomenon spread across the globe; superheroes went from being feared arms of the state to a symbol of hope in these maddening times. Times have changed. Sixty years from the emergence of the first superhero, the City of London stands on a precipice. Two years have passed since the madman Fawkes nearly brought down the United Kingdom and the remnants of the Bow Street Runners, London's premier superhero team, are struggling to keep order in a city that seems on the brink of collapse. London stands on a knife's edge, with criminal organisations that once stuck to the shadows becoming more bold, and ancient powers from myth and legend making themselves known. Alexander Laszewski has recently 'awakened' and has become entirely unremakable, effectively making himself invisible to the world. He must use his newfound power to navigate a city on the edge of collapse. If only he could figure out how to turn it off.
