Oliver had never had the pre-prepared meals that his gym provided. But he could now confirm that he did in fact, not like them. The pre-prepared meals were a lot like army rations. Enough nutrients to get you through the day healthily, with a bit more protein thrown in the side for muscle gain. Problem was they only came in one flavour, cardboard.
After finishing his meal Oliver considered that there was only enough cardboard meals here for about a week, soon he would need to venture out for more meals. But it was only his second day here, he still had plenty of time to consider and weigh alternative options.
Though, speaking of options, why did the goblins attack me? Oliver thought, he was nearly twice the goblins size, a fight with him would be almost suicide by a goblins standards. Maybe despite the race change was he still considered a human, though the goblins did look rather malnourished, did they attack him out of crazed hunger? Or do goblins just had a violent vendetta against ogres.
Oliver rid his head of such thoughts for now, he did not currently possess a means to answer those questions so pondering would get him nowhere. Instead, Oliver checked his watch for the time, 9:13 am, a good time to start his day. And Oliver would start his day by searching his gym for potential weapons. The world had changed drastically, after the goblin attacks from yesterday, Oliver knew he would need a weapon. Preferably something he could utilise his knew found strength with.
Oliver picked up a heavy squat barbell, the metal rod was almost 2 meters long, with a thicker rod on each end for putting the weights on. The weapon was sturdy, and about 10kg heavy, Oliver liked the reach it gave him too. However, the weapon was too large and unwieldy, every swing would almost set him off balance.
Next Oliver picked up a small-ish set barbell, a set barbell is a barbell with an un-removeable weight attached, this particular set barbell was roughly 1.25 meters long, with a small 10kg on each end, the weights were small but thick, and were made out of solid metal with no rubber coating. Oliver liked the length of the ‘weapon’, it was long enough for him to really put his weight into each swing, and short enough for him to keep a solid stance whilst using it. Oliver had chosen his weapon.

The pseudo club was too large for Oliver to put in a backpack, if he had one. So he would have to carry it the old fashioned way. He knew going outside would be dangerous, but judging by his game like status, Oliver knew he would need to become stronger if he wanted to survive, he was not going outside to look for other people, definitely not…
Oliver pocketed his gym card key and tentatively poked his head out the gyms front door, he immediately spotted a lone goblin a little down the street, directly in front of Oliver’s first goal, the large apartment complex. Oliver crouched low and snuck out from behind the door to behind another car. Doing so he spotted a few more goblins further down the street, in the opposite direction of his unware target. He mentally noted to avoid going in that direction as he darted from abandoned car to telephone box, slowly and methodically growing closer to his target. Soon He was a few meters from the goblin who was now poking around in a garbage can, Oliver mentally steeled himself and rushed the goblin, just before doing so the goblin whipped his head out the garbage and sniffed in Oliver’s direction, it was too late for the goblin however as Oliver’s bar-bell met the goblin’s temple with a sickening crunch. The goblin was sent straight into the hard pavement as its body rebounded along it until coming to a halt. It did not get back up.
Killed [level 1 Goblin]
Level 2 Reached!
Oliver would deal with the level up later, when he wasn’t in the open. Gently pushing the unlocked door open, Oliver tentatively made his way inside the apartment complexes reception. This apartment complex was generally used by the university students as a Uni was quite nearby its location. Oliver didn’t know why the students did just stay at the actual university, like Oliver stayed at his high school.
Reaching the reception, Oliver was met with a grisly scene, the floor was littered with blood and bones, bones that looked eerily human. But Oliver surprised himself by not dropping to the floor and emptying his stomach, had he changed so much already?

Instead, Oliver continued down the hallway, and in a brief moment of stupidity, he called out.
“Hello? Is anybody in here!” Oliver immediately cursed himself for his idiocy, he just alerted his presence to whatever killed the people at the reception desk. Then, perhaps Oliver’s worst nightmare called out to him in an almost animalistic, guttural voice.
“yes”
The sound came from Oliver’s left, down one of the hallways, he spun around the face the voice. And saw what looked like a taller, even more terrifying goblin. The thing stood at around 5’6, with wiry muscles that stretched across its wicked frame, a forked tongue licked across its sharp, menacing teeth as it lazily brought the rusted gnarled short sword it was carrying to its shoulder. Much like the goblins, the only thing covering this things modesty was a filthy loincloth. Oliver was rooted to his feet in fear.
“well well, a green ogre, what a rare find, still weak too.” The creature remarked as it stalked closer, before stopping to sniff the air.
“yet you smell like a pink skin, how interesting. I shall see if you taste like one too, once I strip the skin from you’re bones!” The thing roared before breaking into a sprint, rapidly closing the distance between the two.
It couldn’t be more than 20 meters away now, Oliver thought as he finally broke free of his instinctual fear. Whatever this thing was, it was fast. He barely had time to raise his barbell to block the sword, but the Thing simply raised its leg and lashed out at Oliver’s sternum, causing oliver to break down into an uncontrollable coughing fit, but Oliver’s mind raced to find himself a way out of this grave situation. He quickly brought hiw club back up and barely blocked another sword strike that was aimed for his neck, but the sword slid off the barbell and sliced into Oliver’s bicep. Oliver grit his teeth and hissed from the red hot pain shooting up his arm.
“You fight pathetically ogre, you’re a disgrace to your own kind, Now be slain by a me, gabrok!” ‘Gabrok’ spat as he brought his sword back again for another strike that he would not miss. Oliver did the only thing that came to his mind at the time, he threw his barbell at Gabrok with surprising strength, whether it is from his level up or muscles responding to the distress he was in. Gabrok dodged out of the way, but was clipped on the shoulder by the heavy metal, which sent him spinning to the ground with a grunt of pain. Meanwhile Oliver had already started scrambling away, pumping his legs at fast as he could through the hallways, soon however, He found himself lost it the large apartment complex. That didn’t stop Oliver though, after hearing Gabrok’s scream of unbridled fury he only got faster.
As Oliver sprinted through the hallways, each step pounding against the lush carpet, his terror only increased. With every turn of the a corner he became convinced that Gabrok would be there, waiting for him, bloodied grotesque mouth salivating at the chance to rip Oliver’s flesh from his bones. Son it became too much for Oliver as he suddenly turned, braced himself and charged straight through the nearest apartment door, breaking the wooden door apart as he barrelled through it. Oliver felt the wood break around, no doubt forming a few bruises on his shoulders and arms. When he opened his eyes however, he was met with two beautiful girls hugging the arms of one bewildred guy, who looked as surprised and terrified as Oliver felt. Before either could say something however, a chilling voice echoed from behind Oliver.
“found you, meat bags.”
Gabrok had caught up.
