《Quicksword Bob》Chapter 67 - New Villain

There was a lot of things different here on Thriller Bark. For one, Moria never got Oars to wake up. Granted, Bob didn't want to fight that thing anyways, but still he was curious about Oars.
Secondly… well that was it really.
When Bob returned to the mansion he walked around and observed his crew mates fight Dr. Hogback and the various zombies.
Bob happened to run into Ryuma, the zombie swordsman.
Ryuma tried to clash swords with Bob, but Bob was thinking of something else. He ended up telling Ryuma about a green haired swordsman who was worthy enough to duel him. Bob tried to make Zoro sound like the godliest figure in the entire world.
Ryuma didn't buy it at first, but Bob told him about Zoro's strength and abilities.
Eventually Ryuma agreed to fight this swordsman named Zoro.
Bob felt a huge weight lifted off of his shoulders as Ryuma would still have a match with Zoro if he came here to this island.
As for all the other zombies, most of them were dead or ran away. Dalton and the others managed to beat them and Bob was happy for them all.
Bob captured Hogback, he had plans for this guy as he was a world renowned doctor. His medical expertise was higher than Kureha's. Bob figured he could have Hogback give Bob his notes and research papers. Bob would then pass those along to Kureha who may be able ot use them to increase her medical expertise.
Perona was shocked to find out that Bob defeated Moria and asked to be under his protection. Bob thought about it for a moment and agreed to her request. He didn't really think he'd obtain a crew mate here on Thriller Bark but he did.
Perona was so excited she started to float around Bob.

Bob looked at his crew and realized he had more female members than males. He started to think he should find some more men to join his crew.
After Perona asked Bob to join Ryuma also asked. He said he wanted to challenge Zoro and go back to Wano Kingdom. Bob told him if he managed to defeat Zoro, he would take him with him.
Bob knew that there were some humans here on Thriller Bark, but he'd leave them for Luffy to find later on.
Dr. Hogback begged for his life, and Bob agreed to let him live as long as he did Bob a favor. Hogback instantly agreed.
Bob was planning on making Hogback the main villain of Thriller Bark for the Strawhats. Bob told him he could do anything he wanted here on Thriller Bark, to go wild with his experiments.
Hogback even asked Bob about Oar to which Bob agreed. He suggested that Hogback make the ultimate zombie warrior.
Bob figured that this would keep Hogback here on Thriller Bark for a while, and when Luffy arrived he'd have to fight through an army of zombie soldiers. Hogback could increase Oar's strength, it didn't really matter to Bob.
There was no need for Bob to do all of this for Luffy, but Bob just wanted to. He was trying to keep things on track as much as possible. It would help to have an ally he could rely on in the future. If Luffy didn't become stronger then he wouldn't be of use.
After dealing with Hogback, Bob told his crew to go train and increase their strength while they could.
They were all becoming proficient in haki.
Even Bob's haki was improving as he continued to train.
A week passed by after Moria's death and Bob's arrival on the island.

Bob was sparring with Ryuma to increase his combat potential for when Zoro arrived when he felt a presence.
Bob saw an enormous man almost as tall as Gecko Moria. His eyes were covered by some clear-mirrored lenses, and had a cross-hair design on his coat.
This was who Bob was waiting for, Bartholomew Kuma.
Kuma spotted Bob and landed right next to him.
"Where is Gecko Moria?"
Kuma's first assumption was that Bob was one of Moria's soldiers.
"Dead."
"How?"
"I killed him."
Kuma raised his paw like hand at Bob.
"Relax a bit. This is a good thing, he wasn't the best guy on earth and he was doing some disgusting things here on Thriller Bark. You didn't like the guy either, he was full of himself."
Bob saw Kuma didn't lower his hand.
"I don't want to fight you Kuma. Instead, I need your help. You arrived here to tell Moria about the new warlord right? Well, now there is another vacancy open and i'd like to occupy that spot."
"Who are you?"
"Bob."
"I'm not authorized to give you a position."
"No you can't, but you can suggest me. I know you're loyal to the World Government so they'll listen to your suggestion more than the others."
Kuma looked at Bob and lowered his hand.
Since Moria was dead there was nothing for him to do here on Thriller Bark. He could get revenge for Moria, but it wasn't worth it to him.
Bob saw that Kuma was about to leave.
"Wait! I need to do you to do me a favor."
Bob said in a hurry.
Kuma looked down at Bob once more.
"I have some valuable information that can be of use to you. There is a scientist that works for the marines, his name is Vegapunk. He is trying to create something similar to you called a Pacifista, if he manages to complete that his next goal will be to convert you into one. You'll become a slave for the World Government and World nobles to use. I know you don't want that, and I'd rather not see that happen in the future."
"Why are you telling me this?"
Kuma asked Bob.
"For a favor. I don't need you to say you're working with the revolutionary army, I just need you to tell me where I can meet one of them. I want to talk to Dragon about something."

But the truth is that her downfall might be something much closer to home than their prophecies, those last dregs of mortality beating inside her own chest. With a thoughtless intersection between cruelty and mercy, she begins a chain of events that threatens to tear the Eternal Kingdom and her own loyalties into shreds.
