《Quicksword Bob》Chapter 33 - Island in sight

Bob looked up at the sky, it was clear blue with no clouds in sight. Today was a good day.
"Hassan, where did you and your sister come from? Before, you were a slave?"
Bob asked the long legged man who was in his mid twenties. Bob never asked him that question since he's known him.
Hassan was wielding a dagger and doing some image training, he stopped and looked over at Bob.
"Me and Sasha are from Lulusia kingdom, but we didn't stay for long. Ten years ago I started traveling the world in hopes of becoming the best assassin, and she followed in my footsteps. Sad to say, we took on more than we could chew and got captured. We were lucky they didn't kill us."
"What made you want to be an assassin?"
Hassan hesitated for a moment.
"Well, it runs in the family. Let's just say that."
Bob didn't ask anymore questions, everyone had their own secret.
Bob heard the den-den mushi start ringing and went over to answer it.
"Hello?"
"Location update."
"Still making our way to Drum Island, I say about a day or two times left before we make it there."
Bob passed for a minute as he heard the person on the other end of the den-den mushi pass along the information.
After a second, he started to talk again.
"Where are the others headed?"
Bob asked.
"Ron was going towards Cactus Island, and John said something about stopping at Alabasta."
"Have they encountered any pirates at sea?"
Bob knew that they could run into marines or pirate ships at sea. Marines they did not have to worry too much about, but the pirates were a different problem.
"John ran into Black the Whisper, his gang of pirates were worth 30 million beli total. He plans on taking turning them in once they reach Alabasta. As for Ron, he hasn't run into anyone yet."

"Let John know that if he stays in Alabasta for a while, he'll end up meeting a pirate named Roronoa Zoro. He doesn't need to capture him, but he should have a match with him if he gets a chance. It'll be a good test for him."
"I'll pass along the message."
"Dave wants to let you know that he's leaving for Loguetown today. He said he's taking Ash with him because she wants to open up a tavern there as well."
"Why does she want to do that?"
Bob asked.
"She said that if Loguetown is a place where people visit often, it'll be good for her business."
"If she's that interested in opening up a tavern in a good location, tell her to sail the grand line and enter the new world. That's where all the hype is at."
Bob chatted a little bit longer with the person on the other end of the den-den mushi.
His next destination was Drum Island, which was one of the earliest arcs in One Piece. Bob started to wonder if he would run into Luffy.
Bob had two things he wanted to accomplish at Drum Island, one was setting up a base. The other was the meet Ace here.
Bob knew that Ace would arrive here before Luffy and have the villagers pass along a message to Luffy. Bob also knew what he was lacking, which was a real method of obtaining haki.
Who better to teach him, than the man who's famous on the grand line. Ace has also been to the New World, and under Whitebeard. Naturally he knew some form of Haki.
While Bob could have met up with him at Alabasta, he wouldn't be there for too long. As he ends up meeting up with Luffy, fighting Smoker and leaving all within the same day.
Bob felt the teamputre start to fall as the days went by. He knew then, that they were very close to Drum Island.
Twenty minutes later, Bob could see the island in sight.

Author's Rant
Just a disclaimer, this is not and never will be a story. I just, noticed I have a bad habit of wanting to rant in my author's notes, and have decided that, instead of accidentally doubling the length of each chapter with the author's note alone, I will shove those long-ass rants here. It might contain spoilers for my stories, as I usually wind up ranting about different parts I'm writing. So, if you actually enjoy my rants...well, firstly, what is wrong with you? Secondly, welcome! Time to figure out what tags to stick on this. Also, as of the second chapter, I have decided to shove some of my story ideas here. So if you enjoy half-baked, unfinished stories, then I got those too. I think that adds that short story tag?
