《The Strongest Skill: Getting rich while becoming stronger》445. Chapter 445

Kenshin looked at the coughing man in surprise. Just now, before his punch landed on the back of this man, a burst of gas amassed, before the man appeared coughing a few meters away. This was very much like the teleportation that the woman of the Kawakuchi family used, but a little different.
“You can teleport?” asking that Kenshin tried to use the system scan once again, but this time together with his [Replication].
[Replication Success]
[Do you want to copy “Lucid Mist Lv 25”?]
[EXP +440]
‘Lucid Mist? Is that the only skill?’ Kenshin frowned and used once again, but got the same result. In that split second, he tried seven times but came with the same result all the time. In the end, he gave up. Encountering people with a higher level than him, his system would always face this problem. Which was really troublesome in some cases, like now for example. If he saw the skill’s name, he could have guessed what it was and would prepare himself accordingly.
But that wasn’t a feasible choice when such problems were involved. Anyway, Kenshin wasn’t worried because this man was weaker than him by a long shot. Not wanting to waste any more time with this man, Kenshin decided to bombard him with his [Starfall Dominion] until he dies. A divine skill was so-called because it was absolute. It can’t be blocked, only be avoided. No matter how strong a person was, no matter how great their defense was, once this skill succeeds in connecting, they would take damage.
This man was skilled in illusions, so in order to avoid wasting too much time, had to kill him instantly. Besides, he couldn’t let a man alive after he had seen his divine skill, can he? He will be exposed otherwise and attract some unneeded attention. This was also the reason why he didn’t use his divine skill so casually. He had kept it for emergencies. When fighting with a powerful opponent, this skill can be a game-changer. It was a trump card that he couldn’t use carelessly.

Engulfing his hand with super-hot fire and double coating it with destructive energy, he sent a wave towards the still kneeling man. Suddenly the kneeling man stood up with his whole body covered in the same tribal markings as Murata, only, his look more prominent. There was even a faint aura coming off the tattoos.
“I have underestimated you. Never knew a person of such strength will come to take this mission. But it doesn’t matter. No matter how strong you are, you will still fall before the Lord’s might.” the man started to rant like the religious zealot he was.
“Is that so? Alright, then show me this so-called lord’s power!” Kenshin smirked, showing the whites of his teeth to the fuming man. As he expected, the man exploded in anger seeing his lord being looked down upon. He was a religious zealot and those kinds of people would lose all rationale when their beliefs were questioned.
“You blasphemous sinner, how dare you to speak about my lord like that? Even death will not atone for your sins. Die!!” with a scream, he did something with his fingers as the tattoos on his body started to glow brighter. Suddenly the space behind him ruptured as a massive hand pushed itself out.
“hmm?” Kenshin looked at the hand with suspicion. He had a bad history with this kind of portals and hands, there would no way he would let his guard down. Therefore, he unsheathed his sword and decided to finish this man off before heading for the main dish.
“You are going to use your full power against this weakling?” Tar’el floated out of the sword and settled herself on Kenshin’s shoulder. She gave the man a disdain filled glance before snorting.
“you can tell he is weaker than me?” Kenshin asked surprised. She could always tell when an opponent was weaker than him, but Kenshin thought it was because usually, the opponents had a lower level than him. This man clearly had a higher level, and yet she could tell he was a weakling before him. Kenshin felt suspicious as he was surprised.

“Of course, I can. I am your contracted partner don’t forget. After spending so much time with you, I can already tell how strong you are.” Tar’el snorted as if blaming Kenshin to not know this simple fact, “that person may be of a higher level than you, but you are clearly stronger than him. That’s not the only fact, your Intent is border lining on Manifestation, how can you be defeated by a man using low-level illusions like this?”
“I see, that’s given I guess.” Kenshin had no words to refute her reasons. He took one step forward and dashed towards the tattooed man. Like a flash of light, he streaked past him and slowly sheathed his sword again.
“I, impossible!! I can’t... believe this... lord... oh Lord...” this was the last thing the tattooed man mumbled before his head slowly slid off the body and fell to the ground. Even until death, a look of disbelief plastered on his face. He couldn't believe that after the powerup, he was killed off like that and in an instant too.
In the end, what he really couldn't believe was that this man before him surpassed the power his lord gave him.
[You have killed level 124 Moritomo and gained 999,999 EXP]
[You have gained 10,000 gold coins]
“I hope no more pop out after this one...” Kenshin mumbled paying no heed to the notification. He already had a good guess about the man’s level so there was no surprise there. Then he looked back at the dead body and mumbled “ugh, I messed up and forgot to use Replication before killing him. I would have at least gotten a free skill out of it...”
Having more skills was definitely not a bad thing but it wasn’t a good thing either. Too many skills will divert his skill path and he wouldn't be able to grow steadily. But with varying skills, he can at least save himself from sticky situations sometimes. Now with this nuisance out of his way, he headed towards the temple, which according to his map, was just beyond the huge tree not far from him.
…
Joy was actually having a very hard time battling against Murata. It was not because his strength was weak, but because of Murata’s skillful usage of illusions. On the contrary Murata despite outwitting Joy on multiple occasions, was unable to do any significant damage to him. Therefore, in a way, they both were in an impasse.
“That’s all you got, hunter? At this rate, you won't be able to harm even if you try for a century...” Murata mocked standing behind a huge three-headed dog. Before the dog’s mouth stood Joy with an irritated look. He had no fear towards this ferocious creature, it's all bark no bite. An illusion created from Murata’s imaginations.
“Yeah? With that measly strength you possess, even if you attack me for your whole life, you still won’t be able to bypass my defense and hurt me.” Joy showed a smirk of his own, before leaning down and jumped at the dog. His fist was coated with his WIL, aiming straight to the three-headed dog’s face.

The Weather Vane
This is the first few chapter of my new book available on Amazon. The beginning is very light and fun, but more mature content comes later. From medieval fantasy to ultra high-tech to dinosaurs, The Weather Vane is a grippingly fast-paced adventure full of fun and excitement, literary flourish, and colorful characters. A group of ascendant masters find themselves in the afterlife and learn that they are newly recruited into the cosmic battle of good versus evil. Before they can join the fight, shipwreck strikes and they are lost in the ether. Stranded in a magical land beyond the reaches of the universe, The Weather Vane follows our crew of heroes as they try to piece things back together even while The Dark Lord’s forces march, maraud, and murder at every turn. Themes of darkness chase the overall levity of The Weather Vane which suffers not a lull as the climax begins near the beginning of the book and drives on through the greatly satisfying finish. The most epic of epics.
