-Vol 5: A New Life-
-Don’t Have Fate Line!?-
“Ahh! Please raise your head.” Aoi blushed and hurriedly blurted out. Although receiving such gratitude wasn’t the first thing for her, this time the one bowing to her was her sister figure’s boyfriend. He was practically her family, how can she accept such a bow from her family? Aoi was quite conflicted due to this.
“Thank you.” Kenshin once again thanked and raised his head. Looking at his face, Aoi tried to recall where he had seen this young man, but try as she might she couldn’t recall him at all. In the end, she decided to use his skill to predict it.
“Gasp!!” suddenly a noise filled with horror and astonishment filled the lobby, arousing the attention of both Kenshin and Yuki who about greeted him.
“What happened?” Yuki asked as she saw at a wide-eyed Aoi who was on the verge of collapse. She rounds her arms around her neck and waist, to support. Kenshin also came and support her. Helping her to lay on a chair nearby, he and Yuki waited until she recovers her bearings. A few minutes later, Aoi stabilized her condition, but the first thing she did was stare at Kenshin as if he was a monster, not human.
Then she nimbly touched his right hand and channeled a strand of her magic thought it. At that instant, Kenshin felt a very strange feeling, as if he was slowly dipping in a warm tub of water. It’s a very comfortable feeling. Soon Aoi stopped and stared at Kenshin with a complicated gaze.
“What is it, Aoi? Did something happened?” Yuki asked, worried. Although they just had a huge argument, at the end of the day, they were still sisters bound by a bond. No matter how much they try, they couldn’t bear to hate each other.
“No, sister. It's just that I tried to use my divination to recall something relating to Mr. Kenshin, but it backfired.” Aoi said with a sigh. Then she threw a look at Kenshin, and asked: “You, Mr. Kenshin, please don’t mind my rudeness but how could you be alive? You should have died long ago. Your fate line had already ended!!” she had an expression of disbelief.

Hearing her asking such a question, Yuki frowned. “Aoi, what are you saying? Why are you cursing him like that?”
“No, sister! I am not cursing. Ah! I am sorry, it seems my wordings came a bit wrong.” Aoi realized that she was too hasty and didn’t explain her question properly. But Kenshin smiled as he realized exactly what she was trying to refer. He also got an inkling of what Aoi’s Divine Skill was.
“Don’t worry. I didn’t mind. But, can you explain what do you mean by my Fate Line already ended?” among everything she told just now, only this exact line attracted his attention. Fate line ending? What does this imply?
“Ah, yes. For that, I must explain my skill first.” Before she could start, Kenshin stopped her and asked: “Is it okay for you to tell me, an outsider, about your skill’s secret?”
Aoi was surprised at Kenshin’s question. She had never expected to hear this exact question, especially when she was going to talk about her skill. It was a wide known fact that she was the only known person in the world who had a divine skill, but very few people knew exactly what her skill was. As far as she was concerned, no one will give up a chance to know about her skill. But here was someone who was not interested, in fact, he even stopped her before she could say something.
Suddenly, Aoi gained a lot of good feeling for this boyfriend of her sister. Of course, the good feeling was only admiration and respect.
“Haha! You are the boyfriend of my sister, so we are practically family. I don’t mind telling you this.” Aoi smiled lightly and then winked at Yuki, who blushed and secretly pinched the young girl in anger. They were, after all, sister, they could easily understand each other even without the need for words. Kenshin also smiled seeing this and recalled his relationship with his dear sister. They also shared a bond like this.

“Okay. Thank you.” Kenshin smiled.
“No problem.” Aoi also smiled back. Its as the rumors say, she had a very down to earth personality that could get along with anyone, of course, one had to get past her cold persona first. And then she started to explain everything.
“My skill, well, I call it [Divination Trick], which is a skill associated heavily with time and space. You have heard quotes like life is a like a train that travels in a predestined path played by someone else, in my case, it happens literally. Think of my skill as the train, I as the owner am the driver, while the predestined path was the fate line which connects you to your past and opts you for your future. I can travel along this Fate path to observe one’s past and future. That time when I tried to use it, I almost lost control of the train, causing it nearly crash. Which only happens when someone is dead for a long time.
That’s why asked why you are alive when your Fate path has long since disappeared?” Aoi said at the end after explaining everything.
As first Kenshin was a bit surprised and a whole lot amazed at her skill, then to the end he smiled. He could tell why her skill of divination didn’t work on him, it was because he was already dead for good once. Its only thanks to the system’s powers that he came back to life. In a way, his fate had already been completed and severed, as dead people didn’t have a fate. Since they don’t belong to the world.
“I don’t know. Maybe it was during that time you rescued me, bringing me back from certain death.” He laughed at her exclaimed face. The serious atmosphere that was created after Aoi’s reveal was instantly broken. Even Yuki, who normally don’t believe in fate and stuff also looked a bit pale, also smiled seeing Kenshin laughing.
“Why are you laughing? This is not a laughing matter!! Your fate line doesn’t exist at all…you should be more worried…” Aoi, who usually dabble with this thing, found it surprising and frightening.
“Nah! Don’t worry.” Kenshin shook his head. He suddenly found the mental image created of this girl wasn’t what they supposed to. She was more like a little sister than anything, thinking of this, he smiled once more. Unknown to him, the only reason he was able to keep calm was because of his high amount of WIS, INT, and WIL, which was a step away from complete manifestation.
Then he suddenly remembered the thing why he was here in the first place. He looked at Yuki and Aoi and said, “You girls, I have something to inform you. It's very important.”
“Huh!” Yuki, who knew how Kenshin usually acted also surprised at his serious demeanor.
“Just follow me, we need Suguro too.” After saying that he pulled out his phone and called Suguro, asking him to arrange a room for him to have a talk. After that, they appeared in a spare office room, together with Yuki, Aoi and Suguro all sitting on chairs around the white projector screen.
“What do you want to tell us?” Yuki asked as became comfortable in her chair. Even Suguro looked on with wonder, thinking what this man was going to reveal next. Every time he acted this way, something serious always occurs. Last time it was during dungeon break incident.
“Ahem!!” cleaning his throat, Kenshin looked at everyone in front and pulled out his phone to show them an image. Then he asked, “What do you think of this?”

{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws. The drake had been reborn... As a Human. Will also be posting on CreativeNovels found here; CrN Where chapters will be posted earlier than RRL.
