-Aftermath: Lady Sachiko’s side-

Two days ago,

“Brat! Come out, time’s up!” Sachiko shouted loudly as she saw her tunnel, unable to endure the pressure of water anymore and was on the verge of collapsing. As she was above a few tens of meters away from ground level, she could only sense the life signature of both Kenshin and the Dilong.

Right now, her mind was filled with what she had seen when that brat, Kenshin left her [Light Construct] to fight the dragon beneath. There was no mistaking it, that loud boom accompanied by the shock wave, it was the after effects of breaking of the sound barrier or at least approaching it. She wouldn’t mistake such a thing for anything else.

‘How did this brat achieved it? A skill’s effect? Is there a skill whose effect is this strong?’ Sachiko wondered as she thought about that explosion of sound waves. Breaking sound barrier was no big thing for hunters who had crossed level 200, i.e., those who had undergone their third awakening. Their bodies become stronger and stronger, as they level up, so does their skills. With the help of their movement skills, they could easily break through the sound barriers.

‘This brat obviously yet to undergo his first awakening. Traveling such high speed, I pretty sure he would suffer some serious backlash. I must be prepared when he comes back and heal him.’ She already knew that traveling at such high speed while your body wasn’t strong enough would have some serious consequence. She had seen some hunters in past who had level upped their movement skills so much that it was able to approach such heights, but due to the limitation of their overall level, they would suffer severe injuries from the backlash.

Suddenly she felt one of the life signature vanishing, a few seconds after, she heard another loud booming noise as a bloody battered body came crashing at her. Using her light skill, she grabbed into the body of Kenshin and checked his vitals. Suddenly her face turned serious as she concluded about the situation of the young man.

‘This is bad! I must take him to the hospital as soon as possible.’ More than fifty broken bones, several torn muscles of varying degree. More than a hundred tiny wounds. His right hand was especially mangled, riddling with bloody scars. His body had also lost a large amount of blood, making him look paler than he actually was.

‘I was right. His body indeed couldn’t handle such speed…sigh…thankfully I am prepared.’ With just a thought, she summoned a golden hallow of Holy Light and enveloped Kenshin’s body. Although it won't heal him entirely, it would stop his condition from getting worse. After that, she vanished, just like how she came and approached the yacht that was trying its hardest to go back to the shore.

With the dragon’s death, the cloud above their head had cleared slowly while the massive whirlpool had gone still. It would be a matter of time before a violent rogue wave would generate that would sweep across everywhere. Even if it were them, there would be a very low chance of surviving. As such, the yacht driver was doing his hardest to drive away to the shore with everything he had.

Standing on the deck of the yacht, everyone looked at the rapidly clearing sky and a very frighteningly calm sea. The implication was evident here, the dragon who was responsible for this was killed. But they were still not out of danger. Not to mention, the strongest among them was yet to return. They were already guessed that the death of this dragon might be related to the woman named Lady Sachiko, as for Kenshin, they thought she had taken him to be her meat shield.

Suddenly there was a flash of light, then Lady Sachiko was revealed holding a bloody and battered body. Seeing it, everyone’s conjecture of being a meat shield was more or less confirmed. But her next action surprised everyone.

Instead of talking to them, she directly entered the inner chamber of the yacht with the bloody body of the young man, at the same time casting all her healing skills on his body. Joy, who was inside the yacht all this time, suddenly noticed the bloody body Kenshin and shouted in alarm.

“What happened to him?”

Jumping into the driver’s cabin, he saw a white-haired man sweating heavily as he controlled the yacht to drive as carefully as he could when the sea started to turn unstable.

Turning around, Joy came to his face and grabbed hold of his collars. The man was so frightened that he nearly peed his pants. He was just an ordinary hunter with low level. His job was to drive this yacht, how can he contend against this level 100+ powerhouse? It's impossible.

“You, drive this thing as fast as possible. My friend needs help, bring us to the coast.”

“I am doing it. I am driving at the maximum speed. The sea had turned unstable. Any more, and it might damage the boat.” Although he was shivering, the man still said what he wanted to say.

“Huh! I don’t care, just drive this damn thing as fast as possible.” As he said so, Joy brought out his knuckles and wore them, flashing a strand of thunder from his palms.

“YES!!” the man shouted in fright, afraid that this bald man wouldn’t hear him if he speaks too low. Abandoning all caution, the man turned his wheel and started to drive the yacht as fast as possible.

‘Don’t die, friend!’ Joy thought as he looked at the unsteady ocean, which was a clear reflection of his heart’s current state.

The driver pulled out all the talent in his body and drove the yacht a speed that he had never achieved in the past. Within half an hour, he had already reached the coast. Lady Sachiko had previously called for the emergency support team, so an ambulance with the latest healing equipment was already ready for him. The moment the boat reached the port, five people, including a doctor, rushed into the boat and brought out Kenshin in a stretcher.

Lady Sachiko also followed them after ordering Sakurai to finish all the legal procedures on her behalf. Joy would have loved to follow, but he needs to report his completion to the charge there. He couldn’t break the protocol like Lady Sachiko after all. As for other hunters, they would care less. Although they were also surprised and curious, what matters most to them was that they survived the sure-death situation.

Among everyone, the happiest one was the yacht driver. The past half an hour was very nerve-wracking for him. With the bald man glaring at him like a fierce tiger, his heart wouldn’t calm down at all. He felt like a few years of his life had deducted just in this half an hour.
