-Tiger Faced Sharks(2)-
After saying his goodbye to that strange old man, Kenshin immediately ran towards the NE direction from the boat. With the help of [opposites] and his passive of stepping on water, he ran at an astonishing speed towards the depicted direction.
‘According to the old man, the second boat has all the elite fighters of DCB. So that means, their set course was different from the boat I was traveling from the start. They are to travel through all the danger zones where powerful monsters are seen. I must hurry. Its already 2 AM, the mission would continue for another four hours before we have to return.’ Kenshin thought as he jumped across the tranquil river water.
Back on the boat, old man Daisuke sighed helplessly as he watched an excited Kenshin running off to his pointed location. He wanted to say something to him, but due to Kenshin’s hastiness, he didn’t get the chance to do so. Shaking his head once more, he mumbled: “Okay, I will tell him about ‘that’ some other time.” After that, he extended his right arm, suddenly, space around it started to distort until a bottle of Rum appeared. Opening its cap, he chugged the whole bottle in one go before throwing the bottle back to the ocean.
Kenshin jumped over the water like a water flea as he traveled at a speed that was closer to a jet’s. Although he was yet to touch upon the realm of mach, he was sure that after a few augmentations to his AGI, he could easily reach mach speed. Just as he was about to take his next step, he abruptly stopped. There were two huge shark fins periodically floating in front of him. The system map also showed him the presence of two monsters just in front of him.
Kenshin had already modified his map to show normal aquatic animals in an orange color point marker. These two things in front of him had a green marker, which was clearly a monster. Closing his map, he opened the system’s scanning function observed the sharks.

“As expected of a level 89 animal. Although it was nowhere near that squid, I have fought.” Kenshin mumbled after having a thorough an understanding of the beast. Still compared to a normal level 89 monster, the stats of these sea monsters were a bit high. But still, this Tiger faced Shark’s overall stats resembled that of someone who had surpassed level 100.
“Hmm! These things also didn’t have that Cannibal skill like the squid. I wonder if that was a unique skill!” Kenshin also recalled seeing a taboo like skill in the stats of the squid. Of course to these sea creatures, being a cannibal may not be a taboo. Even lion kills and sometimes eats it's own young, and these things are monsters. But one thing Kenshin became clear of, a sea monster’s stats didn’t resemble their level.
“I think I should change my sword since I have this chance. There’s no one here to question my new equipment.” Nodding his head, Kenshin opened his System store. The tiger faced sharks had yet to attack him. So he took the chance to have some new equipment. A variety of weapons showcased with their properties and prices on the list.
Kenshin started to skim through them until his eyes landed on an old looking long sword that looked a bit longer than usual ones. This blade looked extremely old, and there were even a few rusts could be seen on the handle of and the guard. But the curious thing was that the blade of the sword was pitch black, like the darkest of night. Generally, a normal longsword should have a total length of 100 to 130 cm, while this sword had a total length of 260 cm, twice the length. Besides its blade length was 200 cm, and rest 60 cm was its handle.

“It's an unusual one…but for my current strength, I think this one would do.” the only thing stopping this sword from becoming a greatsword that it's designed like a longsword. Only it’s a little bigger than usual.
The sword had a name, and its cost was 200K gold coins. Very expensive, but Kenshin thought it’s a bargain after reading through its properties. What’s more, it’s a ranked weapon.
[Blackmoon Beheader]
[Rank: C+]
[Description: A longsword made by a dwarf blacksmith for a giant race warrior as a sign of appreciation for the giant's help in his survival from a calamity. The sword was imbued with the dwarve’s gratitude, giving it a great attacking and defensive powers.]
+800 ATK +700 DEF Durability: 800/1000
[Special Trait]
Shield of Gratitude +500% DEF for a 60 seconds Cool down time: 10 minutes One Point Stab +500% ATK when stabbing an opponent. Cool down time: 10 minutes
With this many specialties, Kenshin felt that he shouldn’t miss this one. Especially the two special traits. They can come in handy during unexpected situations. If this sword has to appear in the human market, even 2 million golds won’t be enough to buy it. This was why Kenshin felt that it was a bargain. He bought it immediately.
[Ding* You have bought Blackmoon Beheader. The item had been transferred to the inventory.]
“Oh! Let's see, what this Blackmoon Beheader looks like!” Kenshin pulled out the longsword from the inventory and instantly marveled at the sight. The small picture on the Store’s page didn’t do justice to its real beauty. It’s a piece of work indeed. The design, the curves, everything about this sword was screaming beauty. As a swordsman, he had a certain enthusiasm towards all swords. Of course most of the time he keeps his sword fanaticism hidden. The special drive on his pc which was dedicated to all types of sword collection images, it was proof of how much of a fanatic he was towards swords.
Kenshin caressed the sword like it was a beautiful girl that he couldn't get enough of. He dragged his finger across the blade’s edge and felt it cutting his finger, despite his high amount of DEF. He also tested the sword’s weight, which was a whopping 5 KG. Which was way heavier than a normal longsword. Of course, it has to be expected since it was made for a giant in the first place.
Holding the sword in his right hand, he performed some light sword moves before transforming into all the complex forms. As he swung the sword, formless ripples created in the air and in water due to friction. Before long, he started to hear swishing sound every time he swung his sword as an arc-shaped air blades would be created just from his swings. Kenshin felt elated after hearing this. This formless arc means, his swings had enough power to cut through a steel rod with ease, at the same time his balance and control both increased by a fold.
Looking at the two sharks moving around, Kenshin had the sudden desire to test the sharpness of the blade. Although the blade only increased his ATK by 800, if he could manage to cleanly cleave the fish in two, that 9000+ HP would drain out in an instant. Thinking of this, he clutched his sword tightly and flashed towards one of the Tiger faced Sharks.
Sensing him appear, the shark pulled out its tiger-like head from the water and bared its fangs at Kenshin and got ready to attack him with its [Bite]. Already anticipating this, Kenshin used his Intent and imbued the sword with a red glow. Then using all the ATK which corresponded to STR at a 1:1 ratio, fueled and enhanced by his 1000+ AGI, he swung the sword at the shark’s neck region.
In a flash, he appeared on the other side of the shark. Before it could turn around to attack, a clean red line appeared below its neck before extending and covering its whole neck. Not long after its neck fell off to the water with a spray of red blood that spurted out of the cleaved body.

The Edge of Endless
Due to some unforseen and significant life events, this story will be on hiatus for a time. Reborn into a strange but familiar world, Alex makes it his mission to uncover the mysteries of governments, gods, and the arcane realm known only (and inaccurately) as the Unending Depths. Slowly but surely, he grows in ability and meets new and interesting people. tEoE is an epic fantasy LitRPG with a focus on plot, writing, and hopefully original twists on the standard formula of 'MC picks cool class, levels up'. Give it a read if any of the following appeals to you: > 3000-5000 words per chapter, chapters released at least once per week, usually several times. Expect good grammar. > Story focus on illusions, secrets, and traps (along with the usual combat and character stuff). > Progression fantasy, but one where progress is meant to feel earned, moderately paced, and reasonable. Some advantages, but not big, unfair ones. > If a random reader can work out that putting a big rock in a bag of holding, lifting it, and then dropping the rock is free energy, then so could an adventurer who's owned a bag of holding for twenty years. Side characters have brains too. > Blue boxes! Levels! [Classes]! [Skills]! Loot! > No uncomfortable sexist undertones. Ambivalent about including relationships. Definitely no harems. There are a number of arcs planned and this will be ongoing for some time. I am very appreciative of the kind reviews and comments left so far.

The Mystifying Diviner
Content warning, there is cursing in the story and there will be some pretty heavy sexual innuendos in it also. I don’t really plan to write gore, but there will be fight scenes. Fair warning to readers, it is a slow start. But hopefully it is enjoyable for you to read. Follow the story of an old chef who was lucky to be selected to become a system host. Well maybe not so lucky, because gaining the system killed him. He will be given a system that might not be the best match for him. While also having to deal with a snarky system monitor who might not be that helpful most of the time. He will also use his new found powers to enjoy life in a new younger body. What you can expect from this story is bad writing, poor grammar, and slow pacing maybe. Food, cooking, comedy, slice of life, fighting, exploring, tournaments, scamming and probably face slapping. I mean who doesn’t like a good face slapping? This is my take on a cultivation story, a lot of Eastern stuff will be crammed into with a mix of Western. This story started as a goal for myself to write 60,000 words in a month for NaNoWriMo. I was able to do it even with taking days off and not writing. I plan to keep writing the story, but at a slightly slower pace. I am aiming for 2-3 chapters a week now with about 4-7k words written. This is only posted on RoyalRoad currently, and I have no plans to change that for now.
