-Vol 5: A New Life-
-‘Naked’-
This time his target was the level 3 dungeon. But he gave a challenge to himself, he wouldn’t use even a single skill. He would fight with his physical strength alone. After passing through all the legal procedures, Kenshin finally entered the dungeon once again.
The same garden appeared in front of him and its monsters, the goblins also appeared. But this time, Kenshin no longer held any trauma. He no longer wanted to burn them all to crisp, he wanted to slowly get used to his physical attributes.
After entering the dungeon, he made the blood armour set transformed into a simple belt. The moment he repaired this blood armour set, he had never taken it off, he wore it even while sleeping. The fact that it could transform into anything made it all the easier for him. With the blood armour set gone, what left on his body was a short pant, a white sleeveless shirt and a pair of sports shoes.
By appearance he looked even more shabby than when he was only a mere level 5 hunter, struggling to survive. But this time, different from his appearance all those months ago, he had strength, he had money, and most importantly he had status. He had made the leap towards something great in just a few months.
As he stood contemplating about his life all those months ago, suddenly bushes near him rustled. From within came many short green creatures holding shabby looking weapons and makeshift shields. Some were holding blow-darts in their hands. These creatures had unusual statures, and their faces were uglier than a dog’s shit. These creatures were goblins. Normally their level range wouldn’t exceed level 10 individually. But with their higher numbers and despicable means, they were real nightmares to fight alone.

[Kwawa!!] the goblins screeched when they found Kenshin standing in front of them. The lead goblin came forward and ordered something that sounded like just incoherent gurgles. As if on cue, a few goblins who held blow-darts used their flute-like weapons and blew darts towards Kenshin.
The short dart left the pipe and headed for Kenshin’s chest at a very astonishing speed. The target was also his heart region, Kenshin realized that these goblins were not only vicious but also good marksmen. But surprisingly the dart just deflected off his shirt as if it was made of steel. If looked clearly, it was actually didn’t deflected by the shirt but rather his body, there was a tiny hole in the shirt where the dart landed. As for Kenshin, he didn’t even felt an itch.
“This! If it continues, my shirt will be riddled with holes sooner or later.” Kenshin mumbled and hesitated a little but decisively removed it and threw it to his inventory. Now that he was half naked, showing his upper body, everything would be okay. In reality, Kenshin’s body wasn’t muscular at all, he only had average muscles on his body. But in reality, it was far from ordinary.
Although he didn’t have all those flashy muscles, if he really tries harder, they would show up. His muscles were so compact that he could smash rocks with just flexing of his muscles. But it would normally cant be recognized if not touched physically. His higher PHY completely transformed his body in a way that would be beneficial to him. all those showy muscles would only be a hindrance. With his body’s current physical state, he could both exert strength and agility without any obstructions.
This was what it meant to be having a perfect body.
Seeing that their first volley was failed, the goblins tried again, but the result was the same as last time. Then the lead goblin changed the tactics and ordered the melee types to attack. All the goblins hilding chipped swords, and makeshift shields and armours rushed towards Kenshin. Seeing their fast approaching, Kenshin assumed one of his martial arts forms and waited for them to enter his ‘mai’, his absolute strike zone.

When the first group fo goblins entered his zone, he moved. His hands flashed so fast that it became a blur to the naked eye. At the same time, he widened his leg to better balance his height so that he could easily deal with these short goblins. His hands moved, accompanied by ‘shushu’ noise produced from his fast hand-movements. As for goblins, they began to fly into the sky like footballs after being kicked.
Boom! Crack*
The makeshift shields and armours cracked under the pressure of Kenshin’s force, and the swords broke just by coming in contact with the wind produced by his movements.

[Ding* Killed a level 7 Goblin. Gained 60 EXP]
Notification like these started to pop up one after another as these goblins one-shotted by him. But he didn’t care about these pocket change EXPs. The current him needs EXPs in millions to level up, these pocket change would not even be enough for him to fill the gap of his teeth. But he wasn’t disappointed, even a mosquito has muscles. These EXPs would pile up, and reduce his EXP requirement while he trained his physical attributes.
It’s a win-win situation for him.
Although goblins were monsters with limited intelligence, they were still had enough brain to understand when the situation was unfavourable to them. Noticing that this human could one-shot them, they abandoned any idea of killing him and ran away with their tails between their legs.
Within a few seconds, not even a shadow could be seen of these goblin’s bunch.
“Not helping at all. These monsters were just too weak for the current me!” Kenshin sighed and decided to go to the next floor. Maybe those three-eyed monkeys could give him some workout, their species was killed him once after all. Carrying such hopes in his heart, Kenshin stepped on the portal and reached the next floor.
The current Kenshin was metaphorically naked as he was running around this dungeon. He wasn’t equipping an armour, he wasn’t equipping his op titles, he wasn’t even using his skills. Like a brute, he was running around half naked.
After going through the portal, he arrived at the isolated island again. The lush green trees and roars from monsters and hunters alike, it was completely different from last time where everything was burned to crisp. Kenshin stepped out of the protective bubble and rushed towards the nearest hoard of monsters. This island was actually filled with those three-eyed monkeys. Their levels vary from 10 to 20, but their physical attributes were high. They were considered nightmares for noobs who just learned how to fight.
These monkeys were agile, smart and would often use their surrounding well. More importantly, they had a vindictive side. They won't take rest until their target was dead. It worked in his favour, he could use these monkeys as his sandbag.
Kenshin held no illusion that he would be pushed to limit by these monkeys. He just wanted to get closer to his goal of attaining perfect control over his strength.

Synergy
Dear Inspector, Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from being a Player. Hey! Laugh all you want, but I had to try. With no rules down here, who's to say that I can't resign? Anyway, my reasons are simple: I'm neither a gamer nor a hero. You got the wrong person for the job. Sure, the pay is decent and I could pretty much live like a king if, you know, I wasn't so busy trying to survive. I have major concerns about the demonic dagger bound to my soul too. Come to think of it, I've never asked to be transported to this fantasy land either and would like you to return me home, thank you very much. I don't want supernatural powers, I don't want to complete quests after quests, and I don't want to be your test subject anymore. What? I'm not whining, you're whining. Stop making excuses and let me leave already. Thank you for your understanding, and I hope you'll find a better replacement after I'm gone for good. Sincerely,Randel, the Mad Painter What to expect from Synergy: --> Some GameLit elements are presented subversively. If you want the protagonist to “play the game” properly, this might not be the story for you.--> No filler chapters; the story's structure is already plotted out. It's going to have six story arcs.--> Character development happens slowly, over many chapters. Don't expect a perfect protagonist right off the bat.--> Some romance, but it will never be the main focus.--> Humor and dark elements in equal measure, but not to the extent that I’d label this story as “Comedy” or “Grimdark”. ... and lots and lots of Author's Notes. See you on the other side of the portal!
