“Yeah! Well, we have a date today you see! I can't bother to waste time with you, side characters, whose only existence is for making the main characters look good.” with a cool voice Kenshin said while walking step by step towards Yuki.

“Haha! Well said. Well said.” The hunter whose hand he just broke with just a kick suddenly started to laugh sinisterly as he forcefully replaced his hands to its original shape with a resounding crack, after a few seconds, the broken bones repaired itself in front of his eyes, even the bruises didn’t remain.

Yuki was so frightened seeing this, she nearly lost her consciousness. On the other hand, Kenshin’s frown deepened. He could clearly see that his opponent would be a troublesome one. He had already used his system to gauge him, and the result startled him, this man didn’t just have some weird stats in compared to his level, he also didn’t have any skills. Then, what about that healing just now? How can he explain it?

“What? Curious? It's not a skill, I am just born with a weird body like this. Haha! Your kick, I really felt it. You will be a worthy opponent in a long time. Haha!!” the man laughed insanely while spreading his arms and doing some stretches.

“I am afraid I can't share your enthusiasm. How about leaving the girl out of it? she will get hurt if we seriously start our fight.” Kenshin proposed he was sure that there was no way he could talk things out in this situation. Moreover, this man seemed to be a battle junkey, a madman. He would never leave this chance for a good fight slip past him. Kenshin wasn’t worried if he loses or wins, what he was worried about was Yuki. Even if he was several times stronger than this man, it was no guarantee that Yuki will be safe when they get down to it.

“Is that so! Then let the girl go, but you have to accompany me to a fight. Haha! It’s a chance that came after a long time, I can't just let it go!”

“What? This cant do! Did you forget the reason why we came here? I want that girl to be my slave. You can't go back on our deal now?” Seeing that a deal was taking place about his knowledge, he became anxious. He had invested a lot just for this chance today, how can he just let her go. It may look like he was only after her analytical skill and body, there was actually another deeper reason behind that.

This girl, Yuki, she was actually a very important person to a certain group. If he can bring her and gift to them, then those people might reward him heavily. How can he miss this chance? Or else, why was he bothering to keep her alive this long? With his character, the amount of loss she had caused him, he would have got rid of her long ago.

How could he reveal this thing to these guys? Won’t his reward lessen if these guys started to put their noses where they belong? That’s why even until now he didn’t reveal the truth.

“Shut up! What happens to her will be my decision to make. Who are you to interfere?” the man was furious at the old man and glared at him.

“What? How can it be? Did you forget who I am? Your boss even talks to me politely, how can you, a mere dog speak to me like this? I will have a word with your boss.” Livid at his supposed betrayal, the old man fumed in anger and brought out his phone to make a call.

Just as he was about to press the call button, he felt an abnormal pain in his lower abdomen. Looking down, he found a long piece of bone jutting out of his stomach. Slowly his shirt started to turn wet as blood dripped out of the wound.

“You—how could you do this?” stuttering out this, he began falling face first to the ground. His expression was that of resentment and anger, he still couldn’t believe this lunatic would kill him like this. until the end he couldn’t understand why he followed such a lunatic for this mission, it actually cost his life!

Following the back of the old man, the weird bearded man stood with his back facing the old man. A long white coloured bone spur could be seen coming out of his left elbow and was dripping with blood. This was the same spur that penetrated the old man and killed him.

“What an annoying pest! He dared to threaten me?” the man’s voice was calm, but it was dripping with killing intent. After that, bone spur slowly retreated into his elbow, not even leaving a puncture in the skin.

“Okay, now that the pest is out of the way, the girl can leave. You have to stay!” the man pointed his right hand towards Yuki and said arrogantly.

“Yuki! Go back. This is Iwaki. There is a bus stand near this place, just run and take a bus to the nearest DCB office. Go.” Kenshin said while pulling her behind him. He didn’t let this man with uncanny abilities leave his eyesight.

“What about you? Will you be okay? He seemed to be very powerful.” Yuki was clearly worried about him but was powerless to be any help at this situation. She was also very happy and somewhat puzzled as to how Kenshin reached her so soon.

Seeing her worried face, Kenshin couldn’t help but feel something fluttering inside his heart. At the end of the day, she was still his first love. It made him extremely happy. With a bright smile, he replied “Don’t worry. I am strong. Nothing will happen to me.”

Seeing the resolve in his eyes, Yuki didn’t do anything unnecessary. She knew Kenshin was fighting for her, although she couldn’t help fighting this man, she could at least lessen his worries. Wiping her tears, which flowed unbeknownst to her, she gave him a stern look.

“I will be waiting for you in Iwaki station. Don’t make me wait!” after that she ran away without looking back, afraid that she couldn’t stop herself and would make his problems harder. Kenshin kept an eye on her with his map and found her already on the move at speed unachievable by normal humans. It means she had already found a bus and left this place.

Its only after that he let out a sigh. Now he can concentrate on the fight. The opponent was tricky, despite him having no skills, he could use some weird bone spurs. Not only that, his stats were also pretty weird, it wasn’t fixed and keep changing every now and then.

It's his first time coming after such a situation, he was unsure what he should do.

“You have a nice girlfriend, so tender and soft. I wonder what her taste would be!” the man said with an obscene face.

Seeing him like that, Kenshin’s frown deepened. He could now clearly clarify that this man was not right in his head, so he stopped bothering about him. But he was sure that if he somehow leaves here alive from his hands, he would probably make her life miserable, as such he mustn’t leave here alive.

Kenshin hardened his resolve, tonight someone will die.
