Third Persons P.O.V:-

There that cub vomited all the shit out of his stomach and here Rocky started backing up, afraid to see the carnage that Minie would bring upon that cute little pup.

But unlike what he thought, he didn’t actually have to move or go anywhere as the proof of that cub being alive was enough to bring tears to Minie’s eyes.

She didn’t care about that pups fading conscious and tightly hugged him. Though her body was already small and her arms were even smaller, but the neck she was hugging started emitting pop sounds, as if his bones had started breaking under pressure.

But her crying didn’t stop and neither did she remove her neck hold.

“Oh! You are fine, you are fine. I thought you were dead and I was going to kill that ant and that useless master for his incompetence.”

*Sniff*

*Tuck* *Tick* Tuck*

“AHH… I am so happy~ Don’t die on me. Okay, don’t you ever leave me alone!”

She was going to continue her happy song while strangling the poor cub to death, when Rocky barged into her open mind.

“You should stop now. I don’t care about your thoughts about wanting to kill me, just let go of his neck before He dies. Oh! He is foaming already, just let go of him~”

She flinched when she heard that her actions were killing the cub faster than him drowning in that beautiful blue pool. She subconsciously tightened her hold, but before the cub could really go to heaven, she removed her chock hold and looked at the foaming puppy with her glittering puppy eyes, while drops of tears strained her green little skirt.

“Oh sorry, I- I dint mean to hur- hurt you!”

But the cub didn’t show any indication of being angry at her, nor did he open his mouth to show her how white his teeth were. He acted like the cute little fellow he was and bit her hand. Yes, the same hand which she used to strangle him with. He nibbled at her hand, but unlike the scared Dungeon master who was furiously trying to connect with Minie to cool her mind down, scared that she would somehow end up rocking the cub out of life, his source of tension Minie, remained calm and collected, moreover, instead of crying and cursing at him, the words which she spoke weren’t lesser than words any mother would have said at such a time to her scared child.

She smiled meekly and said, “Are you okay my child? Ah! Does it hurt any where?” The amount of worry in her eye and care in her words were something that even Rocky never got from her and surely jealousy did follow from his side, but it wasn’t anything competitive. The other side was a wolf after all, not even an adult at that.

“Can you speak? Please tell us what happened why were you dragged, no, was it pushed?...”

“Idiot fairy. I was hit not pushed yo.”

*Painful Howl*

“……..”

‘The fuck.’ It was the first time in the life of Dungeon master Rock that he attained the Realm of one with his face. His face was clearly projecting his thoughts out like there was no need for him to speak anything. Everything was understandable from his expressions alone.

“Rocky give me a greater regeneration potion; I think he is hurt.”

But like expected no response came from his side.

“Cough out the potion already or do you want to see him die?”

“But how did he…”

“Speak?”

“Yes.”

“That he didn’t. Our dungeon system just translated his barks into understandable language. Just for us though, if there was anyone else here, then he would only be hearing his barks and angry howls, but forget about that and give me a potion now, would you? Can’t you see he is in pain?”

‘Oh fuck me, he is in pain!’

The headache which Rocky was anticipating didn’t come and instead a self induced worry took over his heart.

‘Just how many functions does the dungeon system have? No, the question should be; do I even know about the system at all?’

It really wasn’t a joke. Minie wasn’t making it clear the kind of functions The system really had, though some of them, like this translation system weren’t of any use to him anyways.

‘All I want is not to get chocked every time something new is bought out. I mean why am I the only one who has to face the suspense every time? She is taking wrong profits of the authorities provided to her. Damn I have to think of some way to surprise her, or she will get conceited of her victories. If she has the knowhow of the system, then I have my skills. I will choke her and blast her mind using them.”

“Okay, I acknowledge your sacrifice and thoughts and I’ll wait for the time when you will harass me with your tricks, but right now is not the time. Now, are you giving me the potion or should I buy it from the store?”

Steam hissed from his crystal heart. Shame filled the cracks inside his heart. He knew that she was always listening to him, but he forgot about it and he also understood that she would probably tease him using the bullet that he had himself gift wrapped and presented to her on a silver platter.

With his mood lifted and him flying at elevated heights there was no way he was going to come back to the ground anytime soon, but there was a devil waiting for him right underneath him, a devil whose duty was to burst his dreams and to stop him from flying away from her clutches.

“Ah! Sorry let me open the inventor and get the potion; a greater healing potion is it? Here it is, please take it, please.”

“FUUFuu. Give it here, haaha.”

“Yes, yes, my princess, here catch.”

Here Minie was laughing at Rocky from him suddenly turning obedient and there the wolf kid tilted his head in confusion thinking, ‘what the hell are yo laughing at yo?’

Well, he didn’t know that there were two monsters- people- child eate…

Ahem, not one but two of such rascals who had their eyes on him. So it was actually good that he was confused and didn’t know the truths.

That cub looked at the little fairy and she was caring like his mother, cuter than the best girl in his tribe. Though he didn’t know who saved him, but looking at the angel standing in front of him was there even any need to know the answer to such a stupid question. It was at that moment that he forgot everything, his mind blanked and he did what his tribe named as the biggest honor which a shadow wolf could give to anyone. He imprinted on her.

It was just a moment of lapse in his memory and when he came to be, his sight travelled towards the ceiling and he saw something shiny dropping from absolutely nowhere. He first thought that his angel didn’t know about that something dropping from right above her head, but then he she her looking right at it and his thoughts were disregarded. He then thought of catching whatever that was in order to thank her for saving him.

‘Gosh, I am an idiot, yo. How the hell did I forget to thank her, when she was the one who saved my life, yo? I am such an idiot yo.’

His face which was covered behind a think pile of wet hairs started burning like he was in love. Maybe he actually was.

*AYOO*

He got up, but staggered as his front legs were badly mangled and bent out of shape. He didn’t notice it before, but now that he did, pain coursed through his body and a hopeless cry with shivers of embarrassment came out of his throat in the form of a jiggered, hoarse voice.

Minie caught the flask with both of her hands. It was heavier than her body after all, and she flew towards him, balancing the flask by working against gravity, it took her a full minute to get to him and by the time she did, the cub had already cried the shit out of his tear glands.

He was still a cub; therefore he couldn’t handle the pain like a mature adult would have. He didn’t know, but other than his broken legs he also had three deep gashes on his face. The wounds were deep and long and they covered most of his face and extended up to his chest. Though the nails scratches were deep, but they were not deep enough to endanger his life. The cub was lucky that he got pushed and fell into the hole otherwise; even he could understand the risk involved.

Minie opened the flask and poured some of it on his scratch marks and then went forward to pour the rest into his mouth, but he didn’t obey and tried to bite his way out, but she didn’t let him.

Note: No amount of force was used to tame that cub.

“This will help you, don’t worry. See the wounds on your face and chest are already healing; just drink this it will help you get through the pain.”

She spoke with a smile and for the cub who was recently played by the elders of his own race, her smile was godly. He forgot his pain, but he couldn’t stay standing anymore and dropped onto the floor. He didn’t cry in pain, but his tears were enough to tell how his state of mind was.

The rest was simple, Minie made him drink that whole flask of glittery, slimy unusually red potion which the cub could only drink, even though he chocked two times on it and when he thought the worst was over; Minie got him a lesser regeneration potion and made him drink that too.

He had too many questions; like, where he was, who that cute little fairy was, where did those big bad wolves go? He also wanted to thank her for saving his life, but his shy nature and that natural coltish look from Minie only made him embarrassed and nothing more.

“Hey, little wolf, how are you feeling now? I think those two potions should have been enough to take care of your broken legs, if not then we still have more potions for you, so don’t…”

When he heard that there were more potions waiting in line to depress his mood, he hurriedly stood up on his all fours and started running around her showing that he was fit and fine.

“Woo woo.”

She looked at him trying to impress her with his performance, and she couldn’t help but tear up at his actions and praised him for his ability to recover so rapidly.

“Oh! You are so strong eh~ I thought you would take a long time to recover, but my eyes were right, you are a great wolf after all.”

*Howl*

But the thing was, she could clearly see the pain which he was trying to cover and the tears which were welling up in his eyes, but his actions really won her heart and she couldn’t help herself.

The cub stopped and pounced on her, but she didn’t move. She fell on the ground and he started licking her from the top.

One swipe of his tongue and she got covered in a think dose of saliva, second swipe and she was almost got taken inside his mouth.

Here they were playing with each other, licking and whatnot, and there steam was rising from Rocky’s crystal heart.

Jealous he was of the liberties which that unknown life form was taking with his Minie. He wanted to directly go there and snatch her away from his clutches, but watching that she wasn’t getting offended from him getting so touchy with her sure made him hate that puny dog like thing a little. Even though there gathered some hate for him, but how could he have taken that smile away from her, when it was the first time when he was seeing her laugh so naturally.

But his heart did get burn in the end, because she was laughing crazily, but with someone else and not with him. Because she was having fun with someone else, moreover, he was made to see that.

He was going to shriek in Minie’s mind but before he could Minie got serious and their play time was over.

“This much is enough I think. Now tell me, what the hell happened to you?”

“Huh??”

“Don’t worry; we can understand you so tell us from the start. Why were those Light wolves following, no, playing with you?”

“You can understand me?”

The cub ‘woofed’ and ‘howled’ but his unusual chatter got instantly translated for Minie and Rocky to understand.

“Yes, we can understand you. Wait a minute, do you even know where you are?”

“I don’t know, after my home got burnt in fire…”

*Sniff*

*Howl*

“AOOO~ Aoooo~ Aoooooooooo~”

Thick blood tears rolled down from his eyes as he thought about what had perspired. He cried for whole ten minutes before Minie went over, hugged him and started patting his head to calm him down.

“Don’t worry, don’t worry, we are here for you. It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it, but please don’t cry~!”

The cub snuggled around her arms before he barked to say that he was alright.

“Are you okay now?”

“Yes. Let’s continue yo.”

“Hah, It’s okay if you don’t want to though.”

Their mother, son like behavior annoyed Rocky, but he didn’t interfere between them, after all it was the first time someone had come inside their dungeon from the outside world. He was also excited to expand his horizons.

“The thing is some nights ago our shadow family found two humans alone trespassing through our territory carrying another injured human.”

And Rocky chocked. Though Minie didn’t flinch at all at his one liner, but she got scared too because it was easy, the turns of his story.

When The cub saw that even after calling her, his bride to be didn’t respond back to him, he shook her head with his paw and she woke up.

“Yes?”

“Are you alright yo?”

“Ah~ No, are you alright?”

His big black eyes became glittery but he still spoke though his mood got low to say anything anymore, but he continued.

“When my elders saw such a delicious looking meal walking through the forest in the dead of night, they couldn’t stop themselves yo, and they followed them yo.”

“They followed the meal till they arrived at the absolute centre of the forest yo, and then attacked them from all of the side yo, but who knew that those humans were vigilant all along yo, and one of them started burning down the forest yo, our home yo, to leave alive that human burned the forest...”

*Sniff*

“But my elders didn’t get disheartened cause of that yo, though many of my brothers and sisters got burnt by that hot fire, my parents and elders collaborated to tank them from the front and the back yo, but , but,…”

“Your whole family couldn’t kill three no two puny injured humans?”

The cub looked at her with his red hate filled eyes, but he easily controlled his emotions because he understood that she wasn’t the one who had killed his whole tribe. As his rising temper calmed, the story also came to an end.

“No, they, we couldn’t kill them yo. The fire human did something and the whole forest around her caught fire. Though the fire wasn’t strong enough to kill the really strong member of my family yo, but, but everyone else yo, everyone else burnt to death and those humans ran away yo. My elders tried to save some of my younger brothers from the fire but those damned Light Wolves chanced upon the moment and killed the rest of them and I , I …”

She hugged him again and even tighter this time to calm him down. She could feel his pain. She knew how it feels to lose someone. She also knew how it feels to be left all alone. Her hug got tighter and tighter, as her pearl like tears drowned her face and both of them took care of each other while crying.

“Shh… don’t worry, no one can harm you here, if you stay with us forget about those light wolves even humans wouldn’t be able to harm you. Say would you like to stay here with me?”

Rocky could only wiggle out his desperation because he knew that there was no way she would listen to him.

‘Just what’s up with her? Being scared of insects and saying that she loves this hair ball.’ He was thinking to himself, but once again the fake Mary Stuart of fairy world hacked into his mind and started reasoning with him.

She was righ. Because of his mistake Insects was chosen as their dungeon type, but she sacrificed her sleep to get accustomed to them, now it was his time to sacrifice. No, he didn’t actually need to sacrifice anything for her. It was not like he was scared of wolves or anything, he was just jealous of him.

When their talk ended the wolf who was still looking stunned at Minie thinking about the offer presented to him, thinking about his dead tribe, thinking about the danger outside, thinking about his future, thinking about his imprint, uttered the words which Minie desperately wanted to hear and the same words made Rocky complain like an old hag. He confirmed his decision by saying,

“Thank you for your kindness Master. Yes, I would love to stay with yo.”

“Really? You are not joking right? I promise that I’ll take good care of you.”

“It’s okay yo. Not like I have anywhere to go in the outside world yo.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Please don’t be sorry master. But master we should run away from this cave yo ,run away before the beast horde strikes here yo.”

“Beast Horde? What Beast Horde?”

“Master don’t know yo? The fire burned the forest down and scared all of the beasts living inside yo. Then one of the elder souls living in the forest used their power to create rain yo…”

‘RAIN!! Just how powerful is that elder that he could summon rain in the blink of an eye?’

*Gulp*

“That elder saved a lot of lives, but the scared monsters didn’t calm down and started running amok inside the forest yo. Now, I don’t know what is happening outside but that beast horde will surely come here because the elder said this was where the calamity originated from yo.”

“What the?”

“Say I am ready to stay with you, but I think we should leave this cave before the attack happens, otherwise I won’t be able to protect you, Woof”

He continued to speak after that but Minie didn’t reply back to him. By the time he stopped talking Minie and Rocky were already having a heated discussion about the shock which their new tenant had brought to them.

“What should we do Rocky, what should we do? If what he said is correct then…”

“Yeah, and those humans are also going to start coming in a day or two. This is trouble, real trouble. Looks like buying eggs and investing in Buff workers was the right choice after all.”

“No, shit, but wait a minute wasn’t it time for the larvae to evolve into workers and for the newly bought eggs to hatch?”

“There were fifteen minutes left before his tragedy, now…”

*Ding*

The messages popped, the queen roared, Minie and Rocky scored, but the cub, his black hide turned white, as his howl rang out in the dungeon.
