Third Person P.O.V:-
D’sue looked up and saw them walking away and away from him, with every second wasted he was being left behind so after erasing the words on the floor by rubbing his foot on them he walked to them. After running with his clanking and clinging armor that now had a piece of metal torn from its back, he reached his team.
The assassin was walking at the front followed by everyone else. Their leader, who was injured after a presumed ant attack, was walking just in front of Martha who was precipitating like crazy from handling all of those light balls floating around them.
The tunnel was very long, not really very long, but it was longer than the other tunnels that they had to travel through. They knew that that the end of the tunnel the queen will be waiting for them.
How did they know that this tunnel really was the last one?
Because, it was special.
It was special in the sense that unlike other tunnels which looked to be made for the ants to travel through, this one was probably made for something bigger than them.
But they were also confused because no matter how different this ant queen might be from the ones in other places, but it still wouldn’t need such big and wide tunnel.
From their experience they knew that this tunnel was also dug out by the ants because of the casual and normal marks that were everywhere.
“Is this some kind of a mass deployment tunnel? Was it created for the ease in deployment of a large number of ants?”
Martha spoke in a very low voice, but because of the quiet and still atmosphere of the tunnel everyone heard it and lines of sweat started falling down from their heads.
‘So does it mean that we were right about their being a huge army waiting for us in the boss room?’
It was not one or two who was having such thoughts, but all of them.
“Do you think we’ll really have to face a huge swarm of ants the end of this tunnel? If so then can I still return back?”
It was Martha, who was trying to lower the heaviness in their mood that her big mouth had created, and to her comment Dust and D’sue grew a small smile.
The light of the dome showed that, after walking for some 200metres they were final near the end of the tunnel.
The light domes that Martha had created really did wonders, and they could now see the wonders of the tunnel, but even when they got so near to the exit, they still didn’t encounter any ant coming to ambush or battle them head on.
Marta’s lips twitched a little when she thought about the amount of power that she had to expend just to lighten the area around them, but it seemed like her preparation was wasted, because no one came to attack them.

The light exited the tunnels and entered the room, but unlike their expectations there was nothing inside.
The room was empty and there was nothing on the ceiling either, even though this room or open space was even bigger than the tunnel that they were travelling through.
Dust estimated that the ceiling was probably 60-70 meters high and width of the room was even more than that.
They continued to move forward, and the radiance from the balls also continued to reveal the room more and more.
Then after walking some more steps they officially exited the tunnel and entered the room.
The light balls were currently giving them a view of next 45 meters in front of them, but really unlike their thoughts it was empty. It was as empty as it could be, and there was nothing indicating about any army of ants being there.
“Is this really the boss room?”
“Why is it so empty? Where are all the ants and the army that you were talking about?”
“Do you think we are in the wrong place or there is no queen here?”
These questions were asked by Dust, D’sue and Martha consecutively to their leader James, while the assassin remained silent.
To their questions James said nothing and continued to walk and to his silence, other could do nothing but to follow him silently.
After walking some 50 meters they started to see some shallow pits in the ground near the 100 meter line.
They continued to walk and after walking 30 more meters they stopped because they were now upon those holes.
“Why are there holes in the ground?”
Martha was naturally curious. For there to be holes in the ground in the dull, dark and straight room where other tunnels had no such abnormalities’, this was the first time that the floor didn’t look natural.
But, to her spoken out loud thoughts, no one answered.
No one answered her, not because they didn’t care, but because at this time they heard a low grumble coming from the front.
To the sound everyone became vigilant even Martha who was looking at the ground fixated her eye in front of her. She also didn’t want to get caught by a stealth shot from the ants.
But nothing happened. The low grumble sound continued, but no thing came to attack them.
This time D’sue got on his knees and inspected at the holes in the ground.
“They look like someone used a spear to create them. The triangle pointing downwards really is the clear indication of this.”
Even though he was inspecting them, but because of the darkness he couldn’t see that all of the said hole, were at an equal distance from each other and they were forming an arc from one point of the room to the other. Like something was telling them to not enter inside it.
D’sue stood up and they continued to walk forward, but then light fell on some steel poles embedded in the ground some 55 meters away from them.
They could not clearly see them, but from their width and their circular shape they surely looked like poles from their distance.
But as they continued to walk the balls also continued to lighten the area in front of them.

Then the radiance captured the origin of the poles, and what they saw left them dumbfounded.
They were now 115 meters away from the entrance of the room and they finally saw their nemesis, who they were so eagerly trying to find.
Yeah, the queen was in front of them.
This time not only their eyes bulged out and dropped on the floor, but their jaws were also wide open and touching the ground.
D’sue had already started to move backwards step by step. He didn’t really care about these avatars of devils, and to him it didn’t matter whether they lived or not. So he retreated.
Why did he retreat? because he finally understood what made those holes in the ground, and why the ants were so different and difficult to deal with.
“This is no ant! How can an ant be so fucking huge? Is this a trick? What the hell is going on?”
To Martha’s blabber no one gave any answer they were too mesmerized looking at the ant in front of them that they even forgot the others beside them.
“Why is she so big? Was this place not where there was an army of ants waiting for us? Then, why is there such a monster in front of me?”
But again no answer came to her questions. She also wasn’t looking at other to find the answers. she was asking herself, but even the answers that came to her mind didn’t make any sense.
When all of them were still trying to figure out what the hell they were looking at their leader spoke.
“D’sue where the fuck are you running to? Come here to the front and don’t you fucking retreat again!”
D’sue wanted to run away and he really had almost gotten away, but he also knew that there was no way he would be able to escape the fight and leave them behind to save his life.
Because he still would have to report to the guild, and he knew that none of his lies would matter.
So he did, what was asked of him and went to the front with his shield held in front of him and stood there.
“Dust! Create a curved wall in front of us, and make some viewpoints in it to look through. You can do that right?”
To his question she woke up from her dazed state and nodded furiously. This was the first time in this cave system that Dust was having difficulties accepting the reality, and was getting cornered from a good for nothing ant.
She got to work and created a nice 10 meter high wall right in front of where D’sue was standing.
The distance between them and the Monster was less than 60 meters, and cause of her height, to them, it looked even more less.
“Everyone else move back. Move as back as you can, but do go out our reach. We don’t know what kind of attacks it can do. So, please get ready, it may start anytime.”
The assassin, he and Martha moved to the back of the line, but they still remained inside the safety circle of the built wall.
“Ummm. Martha. Leave two of your light balls and dissolve the rest of them. Conserve the rest of your mana and regenerate as much as you can. You are going to be our main weapon in defeating her.”
She did as he said and dissolved all of her light balls besides the two brightest ones. Her action was hurried and her expressions clearly showed her emotions, and they were not tranquil at all.
She then made both of them to fly near the queen. Though they got shrouded in darkness once she sent the balls away, but the queen was lightened from the radiance of the light balls and was clear as day to them.
James looked back at Martha and passed a smile onto her for her tactics, but she had already gone into a passive meditation state and couldn’t react to him.
This was not much of a tactic but even a little help could do wonders at the right time.
They knew that ants in this cave had evolved vision. So, they could still see without light. So instead of making the room dark she brought a new element inside the damp and dark room, which the queen had never witnessed before, light
The orders were given swiftly and accurately. In less than one minute everyone was already at their allotted positions and was busy in doing the task provided and then the queen moved.
*Kyaungg*
The mage had only just started creating the wall, to stop one of the attacks from the queen, when the queen roared and the ground shook with it.
And before anyone of them could get ready, and prepare, the queen started running.
The speed she moved at wasn’t very fast, but she only had to cover the distance between them and her. She was not an agility type monster, so, it didn’t matter how fast she could run. Because to fight with outsiders inside her own home, she was fast enough.
Though she was not very fast, but the distance was still covered in an instant, her eight legs were not for show after all.
When the distance between them reduced form 60 to 10 meters the queen attacked.
Dust saw a huge and thick pole like spear moving towards her at a speed that a mage would never be able to react too.
It ripped apart the sand wall that she had only just started to create, and was just about to get her, when D’sue ran and got in front of her.
If someone is thinking it was enough to stop the spear, then he is nothing but a dumb fool.
The spear struck his shield and the moment it collided D’sue flew.
The spear stuck his shied, his shield got pressed on to his body, his body struck Dust and both of them became birds and flew 50Meters in the air, before they fell and collided with the ground.
The impact must have been a vicious one, because the sound from when their body collided with the ground traveled the distance, and even the others heard it.
“GOD DAMMIT! Retreat! Retreat! Retreat!” James was going to retreat after giving the order, but the queen had some other plans.

[Archive] Legend of the Nameless Hero
A WhiteSamurai original Web Novel There are always the mysterious tales of heroes, those who fight against the Demons, who fight for justice and those who head mighty quests against tyranny. Heroes that are born to destiny, Heroes that are forged through tragedy, and Heroes that are brought to the world in times of great peril and strife. Not all true Heroes are wanted or beloved, but all life understands, that throughout all time and space, for those who truly stand as Heroes, they never need to be called one. The sands of time are the only true judge for those who journey upon the true path, the only one they will ever need. This is the tale, no, the Legend, the Legend of the one who throughout all time, would forever be, the First Hero. This is Their story, a story of true hardship, of a sorrow greater than any other that would stand as a symbol of inspiration no matter the test of time. A tale of darkness, a true curse, an impending evil hidden beyond the horizons that threatened the very future of existence. This is the tale, of one of the few great figures, who, in the face of true evil, continued to stand. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :Disclaimer: _______________________________________________________________ . . . All Chapters are subject to sudden revision, scrapping, or complete removal from the canonical storyline. The author of "Legend of the Nameless Hero" uses RoyalRoad as a method of experimentation with genre's and writing styles for Fantasy-style works for the sake of eventual publication. The end result isn't to release perfect chapters on RoyalRoadl, but eventually develop the story as intended using the best material to produce the highest quality work. The best mentality when reading works from WhiteSamurai is to see it as the ability to read and review pre-release transcripts or "Rough Copies" before publication. Viewer discretion and maturity are both requested and required. . . . _______________________________________________________________ :About: _______________________________________________________________ . . . This story follows direct character point of views along with an intentional third person narrative to explain to the readers what the characters won't. (I don't use my characters to go give extensive explanations for every last thing like EVERYTHING DOES) This tale shall encompass the life of the Hero from the moment she is summoned into the Kingdom of Kremor, to the Legendary Final Clash. This isn't your run of the mill hack and slash raise an army and conquer, I don't follow that bandwagon. Real life holds politics, intrigue, economics, structure, populations, civil opinions, history, psychology, heart, suffering, wonder, advancement, curiosity, ambition, and so many more things that would lead to me hitting some character limit. I refuse to take the same route that others use by simply ignoring these factors, my worlds, my stories, are as real as they get. There's no plot armor here, if someone screws up, they've screwed up and there's no magical sword in a well for them. I write in 'Seasons' not 'Books' as many often do, these are generally, not always, hundreds of chapters long, though as I have yet to finish a season, the average length is in the air. I go by an ideal of what I call 'Universal Lore' which includes the policy that things that exist within the story don't follow the rule where the Protagonist needs to be there so that it will happen. There will be some things that will happen, and the hero, and sometimes the reader, won't know happened until they enter a place, or news gets to them. A person needs to be in the right place at the right time, I hate plot holes and meta characters above all else... For my works, comments are practically demanded as reactions, thoughts, and various viewpoints are like sweet fuel to my writing spirit. Reviews are highly accepted and appreciated, BUT ONLY IF THEY ARE EDUCATED AND THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED. Those that throw down a low rating ARE HIGHLY REQUESTED to extensively detail and explain their viewpoints on the work. They should also be willing to come back to the work at a later date if messaged by the Author, Me, due to issues they mentioned being taken care of. I'm never against scrapping a chapter or rewriting several paragraphs if there are character or story discrepancies. I want the highest quality work possible, and every comment, every review, are tools for me to use to further that goal. . . . Enjoy the work. ~White Status: (Ongoing)
