《I Will Be Recognized》56. Soul Plane

With the chirping of the cicadas in the early morning, I awoke filled with energy for the day ahead of me. I went over to Robert's Bed and pulled off his blanket.
"Rise and Shine! It's Monday!" I shouted in front of his ear.
He rubbed his eyes a bit and looked at me as if I was a different person.
—a couple hours later—
—Dray's PoV—
Ahhh, food is just the best!!!
There are so many new things that I have yet to try! It has only been a millennium and a half yet food has progressed so far. Compared to food from those times, these were hundreds of times better. Back then, everything tasted so bland and salty that it could barely be called actual food. If only these were invented back then. What was this called again? Ah yes, Sriracha sauce. I must attain the recipe for this heavenly syrup.
As I emptied out the whole bottle of Sriracha onto the pasta, I noticed some writing engraved on the bottom of the bottle. What's this? Manufactured in The Wizard's Tower? Scarlet Rosen? If I recalled correctly, the tower was created by one of my disciples from back then. Looks like I will have to pay a visit to The Wizard's Tower sometime soon.
'I wonder what time it is.'
Instead of taking the effort to construct a sundial like the old days, I simply looked at the clock on my watch. It read 2:03. I couldn't help but feel like something was missing.
Oh sh*t, I made an appointment with my disciple. I shoved the plate of Sriracha pasta into my spacial storage and hurriedly cast a Flight spell. I had to go outside the campus to purchase this magnificent bottle of Sriracha that was only available once a week at the black market.

At my current pace, it would take about a minute to fly over to the academy building.
After a good couple of seconds, I was able to see a green area which was the campus. I slowed down and cast a Blink spell, allowing me to teleport into the campus area. Not many people knew this, but surrounding the entire campus was an invisible magic barrier that would trigger an alert whenever an unknown flying object interacted with it. Now that I was in, I cast a simple Invisibility spell and flew over to the back of the academy building. A blonde haired kid with a training sword on his back was already there waiting.
Swooping down, I disabled my Invisibility spell and dropped down in front of him.
Seeing me, he bowed and said a formal greeting.
I honestly couldn't care less about formality as long as he acted properly.
"Why did you bring that twig?" I said to him.
"Twig?"
I placed both my hands behind my back to give off a profound teacher's appearance.
"I will only teach you magic and fighting, not swordsmanship. Do not bring any equipment to training unless I tell you to. You can practice swordsmanship on your own time but I doubt you will have the free time with me as your master. From now on, every single day, you will come over to the location I will soon show you. For Saturdays, you must come directly after breakfast and Sundays will be your rest days. If I were you, I would stop training in swordsmanship and focus on what I instruct you to do since by the time I finish training you, you won't even need a weapon to kill people. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Master!!!"
"Good, come with me."

...
The place I brought him to was the public bathroom that was furthest from the academy building. It was really simple and since no one except for the janitors actually came here, it made the perfect entrance for my secret training base. I signaled for him to watch closely as I placed my hand behind the toilet where there was a plate. After injecting my mana, the floor of the stall opened to reveal a flight of stairs.
We went down and at the end was a simple boxed room with no decorations whatsoever. It was about the size of the dormitory bathrooms, extremely small. After injecting mana into the plate on the wall, the stairs closed and the single light bulb on the ceiling turned on.
"Um, how are we going to train in such a small room, Master?" Sam said, confused.
"Don't ask, close your eyes."
He looked at me with a questioning glaze but still closed his eyes in the end. After making sure I was also in a comfortable position, I put my right hand on Sam's forehead and also closed my eyes.
'Soul Plane.'
Opening my eyes, I was in a completely white space with Sam next to me.
"You can open them now."
He opened his eyes and looked around in a circle, then up at the white sky, and down at the white abyss.
"W-wha—where are we?!?" He exclaimed.
"Calm Down, this is my Soul Plane. Think of it as an infinite area, or maybe even a completely different dimension. Only your soul has been dragged in here, your actual body remains where it was. I have brought you here because the time here moves much slower. To be exact, six hours in here equates to one hour in the outside world. It's also because I can better impart my techniques to you."
I looked at him and unlike his first reaction, he seemed to no longer be surprised. That level of adaptation was pretty frightening if you asked me. Should I say, as expected of a hero?
"You currently aren't even at the Beginner Magus Realm yet so I will impart to you a cultivation technique for Manifestation. When you are tired of it, spend the time to master a few spells and continue this two cycle process. Now turn around."
I placed my hand on the back of his head and used some of my Spiritual Power to cast a Soul Art.
'Soul Impartation.'
"Take a bit to assimilate that information. This technique is called Eight Rebirths. I will warn you this once, DO NOT SHARE anything I teach you without my permission. I am a busy man(my Sriracha pasta is waiting for me) so I will come to fetch you when it's night. Good luck." I said.
Without giving him any time to speak or ask questions, I hurriedly placed my pointer and middle finger on my forehead.
'Soul Plane.'
