《I Will Be Recognized》5. Sam

"You alright?" The dark haired boy extended his hand to me.
I ignored the hand and got up by myself.
"Thanks." I said, as I started walking away. Even though he was trying to help me, I was too embarrassed to face him.
'How did I trip?'
"Hey, my name is Daniel. And you?" He said as he came up next to me.
Staring at him, he looked to be the same height as me so he was probably also the same age as me. It was embarrassing for him to see me trip and plant my face head first into the ground so I was hesitant whether to respond to him or not.
"Sam." I simply said.
"Sam huh. You wanna be friends?" Daniel said to me.
A friend... I thought he would be disgusted because I had different hair than others in the village.
"You don't mind my hair color?" I asked.
"Haha, I don't support discrimination. Why would I care? Beside, I think your blonde hair suits you!" He said, pointing his thumbs up with a grin on his face.
'Disc-riminat-ion? What was that?' I inwardly thought. He must be really smart to know about these long words.
"Sure, let's be friends." I said.
'Mom, I finally made a friend.'
All the other kids at the village were 2-3 years older than me so it was a bit hard to fit in. Adding the fact that they didn't like my blonde hair, none of them wanted to be close to me.
My family only consisted of my mother and I so it was lonely at times.
—Daniel's PoV—
It has been 5 years since I started practicing Magic Circulation. My father even took it upon himself to start training me in swordsmanship two months ago. Anne was against it at first but after seeing my eager attitude, she had no choice but to allow me.

I hadn't even seen a real sword until I came to this world so of course I would be excited. Right now, I was in the middle of swinging the metallic practice sword.

Having practiced controlling magic particles for 5 entire years, my magic realm was raised to the Beginner Mage Apprentice realm. Ever since I reached this realm last year, it looked like I had reached a bottleneck. No matter how much Magic Circulation I did, other than the technique leveling up, I would not breakthrough to the next realm.
My level of Magic Circulation should be pretty good for my current magic realm. Even though I was technically ready for magic spells, the shop did not sell them so I didn't exactly know what to do.
On the other hand, I had more time to learn about the world. There was apparently a Magic Knight Academy at the capital but it was mostly for aristocrats. Though uncommon, Father Davis said that there were commoners who were extremely adept at an art that were accepted. If my hunch was right, they should teach magic spells there as well so entering the Magic Knight Academy should be my first priority.
It was also about time that I figured out what this curse was. I had amassed a hefty sum of Merit Points during the years.

Primacy Online
Life on Earth was nearly eradicated in World War III, but using alien technology, the Patriarch of the Church of the Resurrection built a new society from the ashes. He created what he called the Constructed Reality MMORPG, Primacy Online, a world so real that the players could not distinguish it from reality. After outlawing wars between the city-states on Earth, he declared that all wars would be fought inside the world of Primacy Online. Thirteen hundred years later, the release of Primacy Online VI: Legacy of Balor signals the beginning of World War IX. Players from Earth's city-states will be locked in cryogenic capsules and play Primacy Online in War Mode. Their achievements in the game will determine the victory rankings of their city-states, but if they die in the game, they will die for real. Patrick Armagh found flaws in the game mechanics of Primacy Online and exploited them to rise to the peak of the game. But when the Church declared he was cheating, he was perma-banned from the game. Now, the Church has declared that Patrick and all the other perma-banned cheaters will be included in a special Church group for World War IX, where they can earn redemption for their sin of cheating. However, Morgan Danan, Speaker of the City of Mann, and the generally acknowledged number one player of Primacy Online, has a deal for Patrick. With her help and his method of cheating, he has the chance to become a virtual god within Primacy Online, but by taking up her offer, he will become an enemy of the Church. Like a significant percentage of Primacy Online players, Patrick suffers from an ultimately fatal, degenerative nervous system disorder. He has less than five years to live. With death staring him in the face and nothing to live for, he accepts Morgan Danan's offer, and once again, enters Primacy Online as Crom Cruach, a disgraced legend. Will Crom Cruach, once again, become a legend, or will he be destroyed by the Church? What secrets has the Church hidden inside the game?

Frame of Mind (Fae Mythos: Gar Darron 1)
In a city of darkness and murder, the greatest danger is found in the mind.Alany hasn’t tracked anyone since the war, but when his lover goes missing, old skills are all he can trust. With no other leads, he is forced to contact a mysterious network of telepathic magi, and risk his sanity for hope. When the mind is no longer sanctuary, and even memories can be bartered, is there still power in love? The first book of a new series in Edward Eidolon’s Fae Mythos. A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.
