《WriTEathon》Goodbye...

If you are reading this, I am dead, and I am oh-so-sorry,

My only will is for Sarah to read it. If she refuses please don’t worry.

Anyway, I’m sorry, I truly am, but I couldn’t live after that,

Poetry, my only solace, was stolen from me with a four lettered word,

With only one chance for you, it ended in such a spat.

The rest of my story is of regret, which you must’ve heard.

I became so obsessed with forming the perfect sonnet,

That nothing else I could ever do in life was even worth it.

Long story short, my eyes became yours with only a first glance,

The rest of that farce was just reaffirmed that feeling,

At that time, I had no idea what I felt since it was my first chance,

The words and letters I wrote about it felt so appealing,

Before even confessing, I knew it would take my life,

How shallow I was, knowing what came to light…

From the first ‘hello’, the trainwreck was in motion,

The stammering and stutters just made the agony worse,

Living through words, I had never had a real simulation,

But this was just too perfect to prematurely hire a hearse.

With every clever line, I knew going to no reaction,

Nothing I ever did was as fierce of that one action.

Having stolen your lips, I thought it was gold,

However when you slapped me, the true horror started,

I assumed it would work, as my friend had told,

It was just my mistake, which I promise to you was wholehearted…

Battered by reminders, I never slept again,

I tried everything, even trying to bargain.

Now, please don’t blame yourself, you and I know it was my fault,

My friend was an idiot, and my ignorance was too high for forgiveness,

And after this wound opened, all the things I did to fix it just added salt,

Your response to this was nothing, which was pretty much a given.

All this happened because I just had no idea on what to do,

But my only regret is not saying… Still too embarrassing to do.

Fine! I’ll get down to business and say those words here to you,

Even if it’s only written, I sincerely hope it will do,

For you, whom I would’ve given my soul and shoe,

Goodbye for good, I promise I loved you.
